LUIS ROBERT TRADED
FWIW, Robertson was traded as part of a package with fellow expiring deal Todd Frazier and pre-arb Tommy Kahnle in a deal that brought back Blake Rutherford (who was then considered a top 50 prospect in MLB) and a couple minor leaguers who were less-regarded and ultimately accomplished little. Rutherford's stock fell not long after reaching the Sox and ended up getting a cup of coffee in the bigs many years later.

Munemania: Rated 100/10
I find average exit velocity to be a rather useless statistic. Not much different between a 60mph batted ball and a 75mph one but they have quite different effects on your average. And that's setting aside the other things you might want to know about how the ball was hit, such as whether it was straight down, straight up, or somewhere in between.

Schultz gets the call, Antonacci up too!
You can put me on record as opposing this Lenyn trade but in his limited ABs so far this season, he has been very much a part of the problem

Sosa traded to Blue Jays for minor league OF Jordan Rich and PTBNL
Kid clearly has his man body, so to speak. Looks muscular and strong. Presumably hitting against professional pitching is a very big obstacle at this juncture. He's got some time to start figuring it out but I think if you just put his name out of your mind today, you'll never need to know it again.

Not surprising a young-for-his-year, late-round HS sign didn't play any official games yet. Probably just not ready. Doesn't mean he can't be good but projecting anything from this kind of player is extremely difficult. He could be out of baseball a couple years from now.

Put me on record — this is stupid. Offense-starved team refuses to give a shake to a young cost-controlled player who can hit a little bit. Maybe the skeletons will suddenly fall out of the closet to make this make more sense but to me this is just Getz not liking Sosa's game on an aesthetic level and feeling unwilling to figure out how to use him.

LUIS ROBERT TRADED
Hard for me to think too much about it given that it seemed the attitude around here and most everywhere else was that it was insane to pick up his option in the first place.

Schultz gets the call, Antonacci up too!
When I have watched him out there, I felt like he looks like a guy who is feeling things out. Not so much that he's making big blunders like we saw when e.g. Baldwin first got put out there, but a little more like what it looked like to watch Caglianone play out there this weekend. Frankly even the diving/sliding catch from Antonacci that was being shared everywhere had the look of a "Statcast says 95% catch probability" type of highlight. That said, for the White Sox, the bar is so low that I'm not giving it too much thought.

4/12 Sox @ Royals 1:10PM - no longer in delay
Wasn't really a very enjoyable series to watch, but the teams seemed surprisingly evenly-matched. Sox pitching over-performed and Royals aren't getting much even with Franco, Witt, Cags, and Jensen all looking hitterish. Pasquatch is really struggling.

Ump is starting everybody off with a bad strike call I guess. Challenge system is annoying to me with so few challenges available. Just get to watch your batters get hosed

Vargas has been okay. Some very good plays, some bad ones. Plus side is the misplays look potentially correctable as they are likely rooted in footwork and timing.

Means there's not enough sample size. He's hit 95mph on a throw this season so the raw arm strength is adequate. Statcast rates him as an out above average at preventing runners from advancing in his small sample size thus far

Not sure I follow the reasoning of "I have spotted an uncalled balk so I will run into an out"

I don't think Bobby handles velocity all that well so I don't like starting him off with a sweeper

Yeah I think if it is executed smoothly, you get him at second. But it's an unusual play to make and not sure that the juice would be worth the squeeze.

Frankly just no good explanation for the way this went. Seems like the best story for the Sox is that Cannon was essentially concealing an injury that only became apparent to everyone else once he got in.
