Brown is incredible. Several times tonight he throws a pitch diving down and to the arm side, the hitter is way out in front, then you look and it's a 96mph sinker.

No purpose in making up all these scenarios where Colson isn't playing shortstop. I think he's going to be there for a while and certainly see no way he's moved off that position during the 2026 season.

As far as buying goes, I'd say either nibble around or take a big swing that you might have done anyway in the offseason. I'm not a fan of paying big talent to get a reliever unless you have a loaded club with a thin bullpen. Also not a fan of paying top of market prices for a starter.

I'm not all that sure we were getting an out on that Colson play anyway but I would have preferred for him to field it so we could have found out.

Yeesh. Braden misplayed a ground ball last night too but they ultimately ran into an out so it didn't hurt us. First real bad fielding play for him besides an off-target throw early on.

Nice job framing that inning by Edgar. The pitch Diaz challenge missed its spot and nearly missed the zone but he received it well enough to show the ump it was still in the zone. And then he steals strike 3 there. Getting his framing up to snuff could save his career.

Don't hate that challenge, it's the 5th inning, it was close, and it was a potentially decisive pitch.
