  1. You could say Murphy has better numbers this year than Noah, but I'd guess if Noah got hand-picked situations out of the pen like Murphy has he would have better results. Of course in the context of the game going on, sometimes it helps just to change looks. Didn't work tonight.
  2. Oh okay. I thought non-competitive at bats usually don't involve the pitcher getting ahead in the count or anything like that. Now I guess non-competitive means the batter gets on base.
  3. Were they non-competitive at bats or were they just walks and that didn't sound bad enough?
  4. So are we allowed to question the decision to pull Noah now?
  5. TBH, Sandlin IMO has basically the same weaknesses as Noah without near as much minor league success. I wouldn't consider Sandlin a particularly high upside guy although it is very well possible that he is more successful than Noah (and is successful in general)
  6. Nice to give Murphy the open base because he might need it.
  7. Noah's outings always have at least one strategically timed swinging bunt
  8. First time through, Yankees looked uncomfortable with the sinkers as they were probably expecting him to lean on the 4-seamer as he has been lately. Now, they are looking more comfortable seeing the sinkers.
  9. Find someone who loves you like Steve Stone loves telling professional baseball players to lose weight
  10. Haven't seen Braden turn on a heater like that...ever?
  11. Nice job by Chase to get a more useful swing on the cutter the second time. I'm kind of surprised he got enough juice behind it considering how far inside it was and that he hit it to the opposite field.
  12. Feels like the Yankees are up to something
  13. I think umps were very kind to us with that call at 3B
  14. Rolled over it but it found the hole.
  15. I like how he basically looks the same except +1 mph but the batters look like they're batting against the Big Unit
  16. Go to hell Goldschmidt. I'm sick of that guy!
  17. Jake replied to kwill's topic in FutureSox Board
Although it's not really a valid excuse for someone who is doing journalism, another thing working against KW is that it seems like he was a real pompous ass. Type of guy I'm sure a lot of people didn't want to see be right about things. And Kenny probably looked at Law et al. in much the same way.
  18. I think they run out the clock with Hays's rehab assignment, they look for a trade partner, and if they hit that date with no roster spot for Hays then they will just cut him.
  19. Charlotte could probably use 3 or 4 of them
  20. Tommy John surgery. Been climbing his way back since then. Looking at how he's pitched in AAA for the past calendar year or so, seems like he's probably more or less the same guy he used to be. Lots of strikes, not a ton of strikeouts, quite a few gopher balls, but not too many runs.
  21. He's been taking the ball every 5 days in AAA
  22. Yeah I'm not saying this means you shouldn't hope the team can find somebody better, but he's not exactly making it impossible to win.
  23. Well this is pretty much what you're paying Fedde for. Got you a few innings, it's not a blowout.
  24. Hardest hit ball of Trammell's career lol
  25. Tough play for the baserunner but Sam should not have been hesitating like that. No benefit to getting a better jump towards home.
