  1. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 11:24 PM) You think he deserves another start? Eh, I'm not sure if we could expect more than this kind of outing from Axelrod. He probably gets another. Still on the chopping block if we ever see a healthy Danks
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 11:24 PM) Do those of you who were calling for the Humber hook realize now that Robin made the right move? Four runs in three innings are not enough to pull your starter. I'm glad Robin didn't overreact. With a fresh bullpen I would have pulled him, but with the state of the pen you had to at least try to get more out of him -- it worked
  3. Pitch around Dunn to get to PK? Can't blame them if they do.
  4. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 11:20 PM) Yeah he only gave up 4 runs and 9 hits Why does the hit total matter? I could also say he threw 80% scoreless innings. All that matters for these purposes is the run total and the inning total. He may walk away with a win, even
  5. After all that, not the worst of outings for Phil. Even Code Red had a good first inning
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 10:29 PM) Yes, I've seen plenty of managers that will pull their pitcher after allowing 8 hits in 3 innings (especially if they're one of the worst starters in baseball coming into the game). Some would, but our bullpen is in a bit of precarious state unfortunately...if Hector gets hit around we're completely f***ed
  7. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 10:28 PM) Dont give up on him right Jake? Can he play third?
  8. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 10:26 PM) Pathetic bunt attempt 1/2, RBI
  9. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 10:26 PM) I feel like this is what would happen with Axelrod coming up. Axelrod is the likely choice, I'd promote Simon Castro in the meantime too. Matt Zaleski doesn't need to be starting at any level
  10. wtf do you guys want from your long reliever? An ERA south of 5 is gravy unless you want to absolutely stockpile arms which either costs money or costs prospects valuable development time (which is what we're doing now) Humber should go to long relief, Zach Stewart goes down to AAA if you really wanna get crazy let him start
  11. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 10:21 PM) What in the heck was that all about? Whatever, let's get him in. what was what about
  12. I REALLY like Phil Humber as a person and I wish I knew what was going on. It's very odd after all this that he suddenly loses his command. Unfortunately we have to think about just calling anybody up to start just to get a different look. I'd honestly be okay with Zach Stewart starting and only throwing 60 pitches or whatever his limit may be.
  13. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 10:16 PM) Time ballgame. Humbelievable. 7:10 pacific
  14. Okay AJ go talk to him and then Robin go talk to him. Don't let him see any more batters. Something is up
  15. Phil is just dejected right now. Someone needs to actually coach him.
  16. Very weird how Floyd and Humber both had outings where they had very good stuff and got beat and now are following it up with outings in which they don't have their good stuff at all. Really thought they were both on the cusp.
  17. Alright Phillip, 2 runs does not a bad outing make. Stop the bleeding.
  18. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 09:45 PM) At least we know Tyler will start tomorrow and AJ will get a little time off here. AJ needs a rest. Agreed. His bat shouldn't cloud our judgment on how much rest he needs as a catcher.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 09:42 PM) 5 straight fastballs to Abreu...mix it up AJ! Mark Parent calls pitches for Phil Humber as of his last start
  20. If you're going to give him a hit, don't throw so many pitches beforehand
  21. QUOTE (MAX @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 04:55 PM) I just love arbitrary dissection! lol you could do this to every season, ever
  22. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 04:15 PM) I understand what he is saying, a lot of people were saying De Aza was just a AAAA player too. And he is right, a lot of people buried De Aza as Pierre-lite. That does not mean I feel Axelrod is NOT a AAAA, I don't think the two are comparable at all Okay, I thought he was saying we should trade him or something. I didn't understand the comment
