  1. In case you're wondering, with the new automated check swing system they're testing in the minors, that Bregman swing wouldn't be close to being called a swing. Will be a meaningful boost to hitters if MLB adopts it
  2. Edgar with questionable use of the final challenge
  3. Fun thing about the wind is it doesn't hurt you that much when you hit the ball low into the crosswind
  4. Kills the ball and Seiya's groin!
  5. Wish we could hit for Peters here (make me look bad, buddy)
  6. Yeah I don't want to go too hard on it because that's kind of the Cubs style of play but they have certainly had some good fortune. I think game 1 easily could have gone differently and you would not have had Hicks enter the game and implode the way he did. Meanwhile, Quero swinging a Cubs bat!
  7. Regardless of how this one turns out, pretty solid game by the Sox. Cubs made it rain bloopers in the first and that's the only reason they're in a tie game.
  8. Wish Meidroth could run well enough to beat those out
  9. Well, I think he saw strikes. They just didn't throw any to him
  10. Colson finally discovering what lefty-lefty advantage looks like lol
  11. Yeah it's definitely the size and the angles he creates, but I'd be lying if I said I knew exactly why it worked so well for him and not most of the 100s of other big lefties with funny deliveries and sketchy velocity
  12. Repeat after me: I won't get mad at Acuna for the way he catches it until he actually drops one
  13. I don't really try to analyze Hudson. He just throws these slow, straight fastballs down the middle and for some reason it usually works out well
  14. Will expertly put Peters in LF where he knew a ball would be hit
  15. Hoerner is really not the guy you want to be pitching to in this situation but I wouldn't dare walk him either. Just hope you trade an out for a run
  16. We just keep drilling their worst hitter lol
  17. BTW, note the other pitch locations in that AB. Perfect pitching
  18. The thing about Milner's sinker is that it drops about 7 inches more than you would expect for one thrown at that speed. So it's going to be lower than you think.
  19. Final pitch was indeed a strike
  20. Milner ironically has reverse splits this season
  21. Good time to run on 0-2
  22. Not sure if I'd want to risk making an out on the bases with Mune up. Maybe steal 2B with Vargas up if Mune goes down here.
  23. Today's Jacob Gonzalez homer wasn't a full-on Charlotte special, FWIW. Probably not out of every MLB ballpark but struck well. Last night he killed the first one, but hit way too low to get out of any real ballpark. And the other one was only 90mph off the bat and would be an out in a non-Mickey Mouse ballpark
  24. Driveline would likely say that Quero going there once right before spring training is a symptom rather than cause
  25. Webb's changeup is gnarly
