QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 12:19 AM) I think Jose Canseco hasn't had a good night in quite sometime. what? EDIT: oh...
  3. I unfortunately don't have WCIU here, so what were the Diamondbacks hitting? Were they hitting his splitter or his fastball or what? I just seem to remember his splitter being hung many a time and being hit out of the ballpark. Bad night for poor Canseco.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 11:04 PM) I always liked Mark Grace as a player... he was so good with the bat... I liked it when he pitched for Arizona that one game!
  5. Hmm.. Jason Grilli Jeff Bajenaru Kevin Walker? Felix Diaz Dustin Hermanson? (how dare I suggest!) Shingo! Lorenzo Barcelo! haha Mark Dalesandro --- 1 game, no at bat, pshhh Alan Embree! He switched colors, that traitor Bill Pulsipher... That's all I've got for now.
  6. I love everything radiohead has done.
  7. i wouldnt mind willie leaving via trade, but sending him down will piss me off big time

    Hermanson

QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) So, then, why hasn't Herm Schneider hasn't stepped in and told Ozzie to shut Hermanson down for 15 days? Certainly they all know that there are 100+ games left in the season and that the Sox need everyone healthy to compete. If it was Hermanson's back and he needed rest, Ozzie wouldn't be throwing him out there.. would he? Hermanson might not be saying anything. Or, his arm is just tired/weak and he doesnt even realize how slow his ball is.
  9. I, like many others, might take a couple "hometown heroes" at the end, but for the most part it doesnt affect me. If there are two somewhat equal players and a White Sox is one of them, I'll take the Chicago guy. But no Cubbies! I just can't root for them.
  10. What happened to Donny Lucy? I read he was the backup catcher for Kannapolis but I went to their site and he didn't even have a number. What happened to him? He had tremendous tape coming out of the draft in my opinion.
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 11:36 AM) Nice to see Frank is back for a week and is already dissing this team. Seriously, why can't he just shut up? He's not dissing this team. He's acknowledging we're a good team, but not quite as great as the '93 team. If you disagree, maybe our team should just go prove that they are better.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 11:03 PM) I agree with Nuke to not jump on Hermy after one bad outing. It had to happen sooner or later. And I agree with whomever said to ride the hot hand. Hopefully Oz will continue doing that. Hermy has been hot as hell, if he blows the next two of three saves or something like that, then it may be Shingo time again. Surely Shingo has been working on something during his demotion time. Or Marte if he's not hurt. I didn't make this topic to b**** about him having a blown save. I made this topic because I can't figure out where his velocity has gone.
  13. I started liking them after I realized I can like Ken Griffey, Jr. and actually like other teams. This came on about 2001 season. That would make it since about the age of 9 or 10. Just about when I started to like the White Sox, they stop making the playoffs. lol

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 10:43 PM) With Shingo and Vizcaino ineffective, and Marte hurting, the bullpen is a little thin right now. Unfortunately true. Shingo/Viz needs to see some time in the minors. Bring up Baj, he's done his time he deserves a shot. I wouldn't rule out Jenks either if he keeps doing well in July/August/September.

I'm less worried about the blown save and more worried about his loss of velocity. I had read that he used to throw in the low to mid 90's? What happened to that? If it's dead arm, let the poor man rest, let's see what our bullpen is made of.

Told you we were gonna pay.
  17. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 10:29 PM) We should have traded Jon Garland to the Angels for Darren Focking Erstad :finger Haha, my friend from North Dakota would have liked that one.

What the hell happened to his velocity? He's getting shelled because his fastball is only 86-89 most of the time...he likes to throw an 83 mph pitch a lot too...not exactly sure what that is. I don't know why he's lost his velocity, but he's been flirting with danger lately and we're about to pay for it. Does anyone know whats going on? Does he need a trip to the DL?
  19. I never really felt that way, but a lot of you felt a lot of hatred for the now loved Jon Garland
  20. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 09:00 AM) Some good comes out of site that bash people www.firejohnshoop.com F*** these bastards, We will find out who they are.... I hate John Shoop...I remember one time we were watching a pre-game show and a fan was holding up a sign that said "ANOTHER SHOOPID PLAY"...and thus, "shoopid" has become a part of my vocabulary.
  21. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 08:57 AM) No s***, when Scotty walks, you might as well call it a double. I guess doubles are insignificant too....idiots. And even when Scotty doesn't steal, the pitcher still about s***s himself with every movement Scott makes. He ends up more or less giving up the steal by allowing a hit while he's preoccupied with Pods.
  22. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 12:36 AM) He said he should've taken out Buehrle after he gave up the leadoff hit. I tend to agree. He also said you should get your closer in there in a save situation. Ozzie didn't. It wasn't before the inning started, it was after the first hit Brantley said Hermy should go in. I seem to remember Ozzie being criticized last year for bringing in Shingo only in save situations, instead of bringing him in to try to win the game.
  23. isnt mccarthy due to start?
  24. QUOTE(letsgoarow @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 11:56 AM) "Coming into the season you know you're going to win 60 and lose 60," Dye said. "It's those one-run games that make the difference." does anyone remember hawk's little thing about this... i wonder if dye ripped him off ahah i thought it was 50 and 50

    ATTENTION

QUOTE(fathom @ May 29, 2005 -> 06:56 PM) Great, we're comparing our offense with that of a dead ball era offense. don't compare it with steroid era teams either!
