Frank's hitting a lot of bombs, but he's really anti-Ozzieball. There are a lot of times he strikes out when a lot of our other guys would sac fly or bunt. We're starting to look more and more about the good old all or nothing sox. We just can't string 2 or 3 or 4 singles together. I am all in favor of sitting Frank whenever Ozzie feels necessary. At least move him down in the order.

Don't put all your faith in Coop. I talked to a guy who left professional baseball a couple years ago because of an injury, and he now works for the NPA (National Pitching Association) that is commanded by Tom House. Tom House is the only pitching coach that is actually employed by Major League Baseball. Japan and Cuba also have been known to consult him for pitching help. He is best known for teaching Mark Prior his motion. Anyways, this guy said of Major League pitching coaches, 2-5 actually know what they're doing. He said many were good themselves, and think their way is automatically right for everyone. Many stick to old and harmful mantras which hurt pitches. So don't think Coop is necessarily a miracle worker. BTW, Kris Honel went to this Tom House guy after his injury for a lesson, and after House attempted to change his motion Honel decided to leave. Hmm.

Jenks has to get us Oswalt if he's traded. And Oswalt better be locked up long-term. Might want to throw Ensberg in there too just for good measure.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) All I know is we should all be bowing down to Frank... this guy is the offensive shot in the arm we were hoping for! Now let's see some singles and less strikeouts. He's not quite back to old form yet.

I like 1.10 even better.

I like 2.85 better.

QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 09:09 AM) Great story, good for you and happy belated b-day. Hang onto the girlfriend, she sounds like a definite keeper. Don't keep her, give her to me.

Buehrle when people start scoring on him because I want him to get his six innings. Carl in left field. Willie and Timo in center. Timo in right/left.

I loved Luther. RIP

I think it's terrible that they couldn't give any money to the people in Africa. Any little amount could have helped.

And probably avoiding political/controversial topics would be good.

QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 11:03 PM) Detroit could send White, Guillen, Young, or Bonderman (listed in order I'd take them) Cleveland will probably send Hafner, but could also send Cliff Lee (#s are close to Garcia's, but slightly worse) Tampa Bay should send Cantu Kansas City doesn't deserve an all-star, but the closest thing they have is Emil Brown. Detroit - what about pudge?

I'd like to see my boy Griffey in it again.

I compare Japan baseball to what AAAA would be.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 10:20 AM) That is the only paragraph that matters in here. Its the only reason baseball got off of their collective asses about drug testing... they were afraid if Congress got involved they could lose their antitrust exemptions, which right now are causing more harm than good IMO. Sorry to sound retarded, but anti-trust exemptions?

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 10:10 AM) i hated the play just as much as you. But if one of our guys had done it, we would have loved him for it. He plays hard, he plays to win, he added the fire to his team that made them winners. In that case though, there was no need for it...he was standing away from the plate and didn't have the ball.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 12:31 PM) His stuff has always looked medicore at best up until this year. His sinker had very little bite on it at all. This year his command and movement on pitches has been 180 from years past. I am afraid that he is gonna have a career year and get paid a kings ransom ( last year of arb and they will lock him up if he has a good career) and he will go back to his mediocore self. It happens all the time around baseball... i don't see why it can't happen to us. Garland has always had some of the best stuff on the staff. His command was rarely stellar, but his main problem was someone would hit off him and then he'd start nit-picking, trying to hit a corner instead of pounding the zone. The biggest difference IMO this year is that AJ has him throwing inside, something he rarely did in the past. I think this is no fluke, because most of what has changed was between the ears.

QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 09:24 PM) I got a better one for em: The Sox went up to the dome to take on the Twins at their home They took 2 of 3 emerged with a lead and haven't since let go How's that for pulling something out of your ass? YESSS!

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 08:38 AM) Offensively, Frank can do it all except run. I heard when he came back he still could outrun Paulie even with his bad ankle.

QUOTE(winodj @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 10:07 AM) Beat me to that. And me too.
