BIG football town here in Pontiac. If we dont make it to quarterfinals, we have a disappointed town. If you're wondering how much these people care, two years ago when we played Belleville (next to St. Louis)in the semi-finals we brought 3,000 fans. That's a 3 hour drive for us and 3,000 people out of our 11,000 person town (including inmates) showed up. That's huge. When our team went 6-4 the next year, losing our first conference game in 12 years, the town was in uproar.

No one likes a snitch, anywhere, but it still happens. Usually kids grow out of it. But if someone pops me in the mouth, I sure as hell will say something. If some kid cheats on a test, they can deal with it if they get caught.

Pontiac High School (5A) switches to the option for the first time this year after last year's quarterback Mike Long (my brother!) graduated and moved on to division 2 football. A perennial conference winner, look for Pontiac to be more defensively oriented than in previous years.
