  1. GREAT slide by Gordon
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 15, 2012 -> 01:24 PM) Way better Sb%'s all around. without a particularly fast team and no 1 high volume base stealer a la Pierre
  3. We have been very good picking our spots to run this year. For the things we rip on Robin for, he's done well in that regard.
  4. I'm ready to see some ducks on the pond for Dunn/Paulie
  5. Alejandro hits line drives. Me gusta
  6. Well a lot of hitting and pitching behind in the count, but no runs. Cool.
  7. Cabrera gets SO many cheap singles
  8. great play!!!
  9. Hope Peavy can reign it in, a little wild so far.
  10. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 15, 2012 -> 01:06 PM) Gotta say Robin does not mix the lineup around. Absolutely perfect weather for baseball. I like going out there with our best crew on a regular basis. Not to mention we don't really have any backups pushing that hard for time.
  11. I'm ready for some baseball.
  12. It's difficult for us to evaluate our defense, especially outfielders, when we miss the first part of every play they have. The camera takes away our ability to see what their jump looked like, save for amazing plays and misreads.
  13. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playe...ieldingadvanced You'd think if De Aza was THAT bad, his UZR would be suffering from those misplays.
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 15, 2012 -> 10:45 AM) Now, the real issue: what to do with an unhappy Forte cut his ass, seriously. I don't even want to give him a long term deal at this point. I hate paying a lot of money to running backs, especially now that we have Bush I would play this season out with him tagged, then reevaluate afterwards. If we win the SB or something, bring him back. If his 8+ million is standing in the way of us getting differencemakers, sayonara
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 14, 2012 -> 11:10 PM) What did Santiago do wrong this time? He only had one walk. Seems Ventura trusts him a bit more than Ohman, fwiw. Or he just trusts Ohman too much against RHB'ers in the face of all contrary evidence. It was a bit of an adventure, but I think Hector is still trending upward. They were not seeing his fastball well at all for some reason.
  16. I didn't mean to give the impression that p90x is "merely" cardio. Both p90x and traditional weight lifting are forms of HIIT (high intensity interval training) With weight lifting, you generally have an ultra-intense but relatively short work period with a rest period long enough to be near full strength. You're looking for ATP replenishment, which is possible to a large extent with rests of 1-5 minutes before these short work sets. With p90x, it's all work (lower intensity since you're far from strength maximums) and very little rest relative to weight lifting rest. So what you're getting: weight lifting - building of maximal strength, muscle mass (be real people, you're not going to look like the Hulk unless you're mastering this discipline) p90x - muscular endurance focused, cardiovascular endurance improved, more calorie burning effect, resistance oriented enough to build muscle in untrained individuals and retain muscle in some trained individuals with an effective calorie deficit diet I'm not quick to choose one based on joints, however. Weight lifting: Typically higher weights being "held" by joints. Those that use machines are more likely to experience joint problems. p90x: MUCH higher volume and thus repetitive motion stress can be an issue. With higher volume and very low rest you also see form becoming an issue which can be bad for joints depending on what movement we're referring to. I'm not going to speak for people with real joint issues, but feedback from those I work with is generally that those with joint issues prefer to do fewer repetitions on their joints. Usually the main problem with those that are hesitant to do weight lifting movements on joints is that they do not know how to get warmed up properly or are not performing movements properly. And Reddy, you look great and have done a great job with changing your physique. First of all, thank your diet - if it was bad, you'd have gotten nowhere. Also, remember what I said as it pertains to those that are new to resistance training: results come quickly with just about any resistance program when that sort of training is new. I would not expect you to build muscle mass for an indefinite period of time while on p90x. However, I encourage you to keep doing what you're doing for as long as it works, as long as you like it (sounds like you do). If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  17. Growing pains incoming
  18. Come on now, I do NOT want to see Alex Avila
  19. Lucky that bulls*** slider didn't tie the game
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 14, 2012 -> 10:04 PM) pitching taints
  21. lol, Addison you threw that down the middle. Good job by Raburn laying off some good two strike pitches
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 14, 2012 -> 09:13 PM) That doesn't mean he's any good...just that he's not entirely useless. I know he is your personal charity case...and Alex is mine, so I feel your pain...but he needs to still take some MAJOR strides before I'll concede we're seeing development out of him. If the trend is upwards, I'll shut my trap. If he can finish the season at .240, I'll stop calling for his head.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 14, 2012 -> 09:11 PM) Morel looks vastly better since that cortisone shot. I may be imagining it....but maybe, justtt maybe
  24. He hit an offspeed pitch folks
  25. If Morel gets a hit I don't know what I'll think. It will discredit everyone else, lol
