GT: White Sox @ Angels
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 17, 2012 -> 12:18 AM) The desperation was forcing him into the equation as the long-term answer at 3B instead of just as an experimental, one-season stopgap. The same thing as if we traded for Callaspo from the Angels to play there for the remainder of THIS season. Because of that idiotic, unwarranted extension, we traded Edwin Jackson for the last reliever on our major league roster (albeit, he's pitching better than expected, but still not a great end result). I have to think we could sign Teahen off the street right now and he'd outproduce Morel EDIT: guess he's tearing it up in AAA for the Nats currently

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 16, 2012 -> 11:37 PM) No idea, I assume anyone can play LF QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2012 -> 11:40 PM) It is amazing how many young Sox hitters take HUGE steps back in their 2nd season. Maybe it's the curse of Mike Caruso, as we've seen this with Fields and Beckham also. At least we can't blame Greg Walker for this (and yes, that's sincere and not sarcasm). Morel played so badly last year that we thought that a step back would be impossible....he proved us wrong

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 16, 2012 -> 11:33 PM) Dan Johnson ? Thought he was doing fine in AAA. Can he play OF? I don't know him well other than that he had a good spring

Brent Morel, man....

QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2012 -> 11:31 PM) For this year, Fukudome/Lillibridge? I figured...was trying to search my tired brain for anyone in the minors not named Mitchell pushing for ML time

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 16, 2012 -> 11:30 PM) not full time!! only for the Cubs series, interleague. it was suggested in this thread that you don't make that switch if it is only for NL parks

QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2012 -> 11:29 PM) Williams was horrific tonight. He was up in the zone with everything the first 6 innings. He got lucky with a handful of rockets hit right at their defenders. It's honestly one of the least impressive 8 inning, 2 run performances you'll see. Haha well then you know which two innings I saw
-
GT: White Sox @ Angels
So if you make DV the full time 3B, who plays LF?
-
GT: White Sox @ Angels
We're gonna have a hard time if our starters can't get through the sixth inning for several starts in a row (like these past 3 games). Trying to decide if we should just tip our cap to this Williams, the part of the game I saw he looked pretty good.

GT: White Sox @ Angels
Can someone fill me in on the 6th inning? Are we all mad at RV for leaving Gavin out too long?
-
GT: White Sox @ Angels
I wouldn't mind experimenting with DV at 3B

Will Ohman
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 16, 2012 -> 06:46 PM) Zach Stewart I've never seen Zach Stewart b**** slap a charging batter

Will Ohman
Where is DJ Carrasco when you need him

Peter Bourjos
No thanks, doesn't fit for us. Viciedo has a corner for a long time and Bourjos hasn't proven that he is a better player than ADA yet -- just younger.

Dunn will play LF during interleague
QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 15, 2012 -> 09:06 PM) As far as team needs go, my order would be: 1.) top of rotation starter 2.) #3 hitter 3.) mid rotation starter 4.) CF'er/3B (tie) This is asinine. Our rotation is more than solid. Our 3/4 hitters are both having career years. ADA is shaping up to be a great, young CF'er that is under contract for nothing. 3B is by far the largest need, followed by second base. Hopefully Dayan Viciedo makes LF not a need any longer, maybe Beckham could take care of 2B as well (maybe not).

2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 15, 2012 -> 08:53 PM) No. That's the point of the amnesty, that contract is removed from counting on the cap/tax number. Works for me then, go ahead and do as you please Bulls.

2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 15, 2012 -> 08:50 PM) Yes, that's very true, but the Bulls would be able to move that money to other contracts. Doesn't count towards salary cap?

2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
I think some people think that amnestying Boozer just means he is off the books. Amnestying Boozer will mean: Boozer can be bid on by teams with cap room. The highest bidder gets Booz. The Bulls pay the difference between the high bid and the contract we gave him (!!!) The amnesty could potentially blow up in our face with us paying him a ton to not even be playing for us

Foam rollers are excellent. You might tear up while you're doing the IT band rolling, but your flexibility will thank you later.

5/15 Tigers vs. White Sox
It looked like it might be gone, especially considering the hitter. I definitely got excited, but I wasn't sure if it would go. Looked like it was high off the bat.

5/15 Tigers vs. White Sox
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 15, 2012 -> 04:59 PM) Why would a fly out motivate Tank to go to right field more? Nice couple games in a row from Tank, however. At least he's hitting now. He hasn't hit a fastball hard in a while but he hit to the opposite field very much in the minor leagues, it was even a gripe. I'd say he might realize that looking to the opposite field won't hurt his power numbers seeing as he just nicked that thing to the RF fence

5/15 Tigers vs. White Sox
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 15, 2012 -> 04:56 PM) Who cares about defense from your second baseman? I am saying Beckham can't hit. Getz is the same player, arguably a better player than Beckham. LOL, defense comes first from your second baseman unless he's a big bat
-
5/15 Tigers vs. White Sox
Can't believe that didn't go I have to wonder if this might motivate Dayan to actually try to take fastballs to the opposite field in the future
