he actually came into where i work one day and he told me some good stories and how fans used to heckle him and hed climb up the net behind home plate, hes a great guy

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 05:04 PM) I love Juan Pierre and in years passed I would have given the world to have him on the Sox, however this year with the Sox arguably having the best top of the order in baseball I'd leave Pierre alone, keep the team the way it is. its ashame some topic starters dont get the whole "keep the team the way it is" motto, you go with what works

ill take my chances with the orioles

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 04:54 PM) He's injury prone, and batting .249 with an OBP of .296. Dye is a much better offensive player than Pierre. I say HELL NO to Juan Pierre. and i agree, we need some offense in the lineup, id like to think we have guys (iguchi) who can fill that number two spot just as well
-
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 04:28 PM) He gets a #1 or #2 type starter, the Sox would be the most feared team in baseball, plus if they continue to build this lead in the division he could rest guys the second half. I'm not sold on El Duque in the playoffs. He's hurt, and I really don't think he's going to be in much better shape for the playoffs. all star break should help him, and add the rest while hes injured, he should come back in better shape than he was, but we still need insurance

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) Where's Cory Lidle these days? That's another guy KW's loved. Maybe he doesn't see the point in trading for a Superstar pitcher. I don't see it. We just would need someone to help finish up the season and I think El Duque could get that done. lidle is in philadelphia, and the phillies wont trade any pitchers, unless they get an ace which they need
-
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) Seriously. And he'd have to continue to improve A LOT just to be a decent 5th by our rotation's standards, judging by his numbers this year... his numbers have been improving
-
lilly has given up 2 runs in his last fourteen innings, i dont see anything wrong, toronto is as much as a hitters park as the cell IMO
-
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 04:20 PM) I'd prefer to see Lilly as the 5th stater, with El Duque coming out of the pen. It'd be nice to have that insurance, since B-Mac is obviously not ready. or you could throw them half and half on the day one of them starts, just a thought
-
QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) Shingo has gotten a lot of consistency back, and then soem IMO. Idgaf what anybody says, he needs more playing time. Luckily, today i think was a bit of abetter situation to put him in, but soon he should be back to the way he was pitching before. he better, he looks like hes hitting the plate better and using his pitches better, it also helps when not many teams have been able to hit him lately because we havent been using him as much
-
hmm i never thought about the idea of acquiring lilly, if he can get back to his all star form id love to have him as long relief and or fifth starter

What the hell is Ozzie doing with his lineup?

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) Im not sure if he was serious, or just trying to stir the pot. Either way its a dead issue in my eyes. 9.5 games up twins still need to play, dont get ahead of yourself -
QUOTE(ZeroHour @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 03:29 PM) I will go without "the Derek Lowe face" thank you very much. Schmidt is an idea, i think hes making 8-9 this year and next. hes a possibility but probably costs way too much, aint happening

Cinderella story. Outta nowhere. A former greenskeeper, now, about to become the Masters champion. It looks like a mirac...It's in the hole! It's in the hole! It's in the hole! CADDYSHACK

Which AL Pitcher Should Start The All-Star Game?
ChWRoCk2 replied to AddisonStSox's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 03:18 PM) Ok, I still think its a toss up beetween buehrle and halladay. Im gunna wait closer to the game to decide. buehrle should get it, but everyone favors halladay -
im sure there is many more records that are unknown that he has broken, but way to go mark

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) Whatever he wants because it's working? Everyone is contributing to this team and that's huge. That shows that we will be able to count on guys like Ozuna in the future. couldnt have put it any better -
