QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 05:43 PM) Overswinging? From what I've seen, a lot of hitters are trying to hit 3 run homers instead of just moving the base runners up a few spots. I haven't seen it. I thought you couldn't see the game? -

We can't get a hit with a runner in scoring position to save our lives. -

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 05:32 PM) Why the f*** do you keep thinking this team doesn't care? Show me some damn evidence? Because they're not winning every game 11-0, they're suddenly not caring about losing? GMAFB. Yah. I've never understood that. Just because they are losing and not getting hits with RISP they don't care all of a sudden? I just don't buy that stuff at all. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 05:30 PM) I had a bad feeling about his performance once I saw the mention of the unexplained velocity dip last start. I'm not sure if it's physical or mental, but Contreras is missing something right now. Well he is facing the two best offensive teams in his last two starts, and he just started doing his total running/conditioning program again. -

Ugh. Nothing is working right now. -
Here's to hoping we can score a few for Jose tomorrow.

QUOTE(ThinWhiteDuque @ May 31, 2006 -> 07:19 PM) When you have two other position players hitting like pitchers (SS, CF), you can't afford to have Vince Coleman in your lineup as well. :banghead
-
QUOTE(fathom @ May 31, 2006 -> 07:17 PM) I'm not a fan of Pods, but he's the least of our worries right now. He's been doing a terrific job lately. How can you not be a fan of Pods after what he has done the last year and a half? I just don't understand it.
-
QUOTE(ThinWhiteDuque @ May 31, 2006 -> 07:11 PM) I love Scotty as much as the next guy, but his offensive production is subpar for a corner OFer. Whatever you say man. lol His .371 OBP is just fine by me. His job is to get on base. He is not a hole in the lineup.
-
QUOTE(ThinWhiteDuque @ May 31, 2006 -> 07:05 PM) This isn't that surprising. We have 3 major holes in the lineup (LF, CF, SS)...The offense will struggle when the 3-5 slots aren't mashing. Yah, Pods .321 average and 948 OPS in May is a real big hole. :rolly
-
Westbrook mowing us down. Very impressive tonight.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 31, 2006 -> 06:56 PM) Ideal pitcher for the 7th and 8th innings? Brandon McCarthy. I'd imagine Freddy will go back out considering he is at 100. Doesn't matter though, doesn't look like we are going to score much tonight.
-
Another quality start for Freddy (so far), which is nice to see coming off of the Toronto game.
-
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 31, 2006 -> 06:53 PM) Not having seen the first 5 and a half...Bad execution or just not hitting? More just not hitting, with a small lack of execution mixed in.
-
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 31, 2006 -> 06:47 PM) In Jakes last 3 starts. Against Detroit 5.1 innings 7 hits 7 runs He shut down the Royals and their mighty O over 9 innings but before that they rocked him for 8 runs in 5.2 innings. So oddly people are hitting him, just not us tonight. He had a 2.30 ERA at home coming into tonight. He just sucks on the road. That doesn't excuse us of course. We suck tonight, but that was obvious. Just like last night.
-
Here's another interesting stat. Freddy has only walked 1 guy in 6 starts this May (including tonight). That is pretty awesome for him.
-
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 31, 2006 -> 06:37 PM) Has anyone from the White Sox ever explained the reason for Freddy's lost velocity? Its pretty alarming. Why would anyone, meaning from the team, bother? He's had only two bad starts all year.
-
HOpefully we can score a couple and Freddy can hold them down for another inning and get yet another quality start.
-
Go Yanks :puke
-
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 31, 2006 -> 06:27 PM) How about someone just hits him in the head. You cant hit all year long, then someone teaches you something, and you hit like an allstar. Then of course you forget it. What is he Kelly Bundy, a new thought pushes the old thought out. I was talking about Westbrook. The fact that there is like a 130 point difference between his home and away BAA. (His walks are even)
-
Man he is so much better at home. Somebody hit him on the head so he thinks we're playing at the cell.
