  1. Opponents are hitting .333 against Westbrook on the road but only .200 against him at home. That is a pretty amazing difference.
  2. Well, we are going to have to score runs at some point tonight. TOugh to win with nada. Cmon fellas.
  3. QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 31, 2006 -> 05:32 PM) our offense :puke Yah. Can't get the big hit right now. It's pretty crazy that we are hitting .318 or something like that iwth RISP and less than 2 outs. I thought it would be much worse.
  4. Paul is scufflin bigtime at this point.
  5. Well, that makes tonight sting a little bit less.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2006 -> 08:03 PM) All I know is that I've been less than impressed with Cintron's approach at the plate. AJP is one of our toughest outs...and he was on the bench to end the game. Of course, in the end, it's the execution which wins or loses the game. If we had Pods, Mackowiak, and AJP go 1-2-3 to end the game, you wouldn't have heard a word from me about the managing that inning. You do realize that AJP would likely have swung at the first pitch too.
  7. Cintron I agree with, but there was no way Wickman was going to walk Iguchi, so I don't have a problem with him swining first pitch. It was a good pitch to hit, he just had a crappy night.
  8. QUOTE(Sox It To Em @ May 30, 2006 -> 08:02 PM) By the way, Tigers have two men on with no one out. This night keeps on getting better and better. You knew Farnsworth would s*** himself coming back to Detroit.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2006 -> 07:59 PM) I have no problem with Mackowiak batting, but Cintron's the one who should have never been hitting in that situation. eh. not what you said. DOesn't matter though. Ozzie sent him up there to do a job. Cintron blew it.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2006 -> 07:55 PM) You have him bat for Ozuna. Mackowiak would have still been on the bench, so you don't have to worry about that. Of course....this was another example of why Gload is absolutely worthless on this team. Mack is our pinch hitter. Plus, Mack is .296 with RISP, AJ is .195.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2006 -> 07:53 PM) Terrible managing in the 9th keeping our best lefty on the bench. Who would you pinch hit him for? I don't think the fielding would woufk.
  12. Terrible execution game. Paul, Cintron, etc.
  13. Wow. I wouldn't take that again.
  14. STEAL THIRD! Take a shot. Nevermind.
  15. Just stupid. Guillen looked some kinda pissed at Cintron. That is not knowing the situation.
  16. Bob hasn't given up a run in May. Now would be a good time to give him a couple.
  17. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ May 30, 2006 -> 07:40 PM) i cant remember the last time the sox actually hit wickman, i just remember the second game of the season of last yr when pk and dye hit homers. i wanna see this lineup 2morrow: pods cintron-ss thome konerko dye aj crede mack ozuna-2b That's quite a scary middle infield defense, and not in a good way.
  18. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 30, 2006 -> 07:35 PM) He isn't eligible for Free Agency until 2008, so tough s*** if he wants to close. If he pitched as well as he did before he started struggling, he probably would close. Lots of things happen in 3 seasons. Eh. We'd definitely be taking a risk, cause it might piss him off, but he sure as hell wouldn't be a closer here. Plus, who knows if he ever gets back to the way he was. It's all moot though, cause I doubt they'd trade him now, knowing they wouldn't get very much at all for him.
  19. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 30, 2006 -> 07:35 PM) Seems like they don't even care. Going through the motions. I think there is a pretty good chance that they care.
  20. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 30, 2006 -> 07:31 PM) I think if Lidge got out of Houston, and into the AL, he would be awesome. Maybe. I don't think he'd necessarily like coming to a team knowing that he'll be setup for quite a few years. I think he wants to close.
  21. Well at least CLiff has a lower whip than Brad Lidge.... haha. Of course that doesn't matter. It is kinda scary though. Lidge has a 1.70 whip. Ouch.\ That's green btw. Kinda hard to tell.
  22. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 30, 2006 -> 07:17 PM) It does. I would be severely disappointed if we didn't pull this off. I believe I saw a quote yesterday that said that they had like a 0.91 ERA in May. That doesn't seem possible though. Maybe it was like in the last week or so. I'm trying to look for a split that would tell me.
