  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 10:22 PM) How? I simply can't FATHOM how anyone who knows a lick about baseball would say that. You also couldn't fathom how Ozzie left BA in the other night. Whoops.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 10:20 PM) Greg...we're not talking about actually acquiring Sizemore. This is a decade old argument we've had with jphat that he'd rather have Pods as a leadoff hitter than Sizemore. And you bring it up all the time like I care. Is there a reason you two keep bringing it up over and over? Is that all you got?
  3. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 10:15 PM) Where is the your parents must have dropped you on your head smilie? I would have used it if it were on there. But it wasn't.
  4. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 10:13 PM) I'd rather have Sizemore starting in LF and batting leadoff with Podsednik off the team. I must say I'm glad your back posting more. Especially at this point in time after losing 2 of 3.
  5. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 10:12 PM) Saves are like wins for a pitcher. Jenks' ERA is a very average 4.00 now.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 10:11 PM) If only we had Grady Sizemore I would love to have him in center batting 5th or 6th.
  7. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 10:08 PM) He's still perfect in saves! Yep. Glad to see it's catching on. If only we had Brad Lidge.
  8. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 10:05 PM) Has Ozzie ever done anything wrong in your opinion? Plenty. What's your point?
  9. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 10:03 PM) The White Sox will never hire you to present their side of an arbitration case.
  10. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 10:00 PM) No more resting 3 f***ing starters. We would of won game 1 and this game would of meant nothing. How do you know that. None of them had had much success, if any, against Moyer. And one of those starters you were just complaining about saying he isn't doing anything to get the offense going. How much sense does that make? Two of those reserves manufactured 2 of our 3 runs.
  11. Well, scoring 4 or more runs for 13 out of 14 games was pretty awesome. Had to come to an end sometime though. Not too surprised that it was tonight. And we've scored under 3 only once this season. Awesome.
  12. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) Do you have little smart-ass comments like this for everything? Just out of curiosity. CREDE THE STAB, PK THE PICK YESSSSS You didn't think it was cool?
  13. QUOTE(greg775 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 09:45 PM) Is anybody on here a Widger fan? Please convert me. I've never been high on the guy. He helped us win a world series last year. That was pretty cool.
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 09:37 PM) Any time a pitcher has a WHIP below 1 they're doing pretty well.... He stinks!
  15. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 09:33 PM) Here we go. I predicted this earlier in the game thread. The cy youngification of Jarod Washburn. We are getting 2 hit, not because he is the best pitcher we have ever seen. Its because we are undisciplined tonight and are taking horrible swings. People score against the great Jarod Washburn. I mean maybe they have kryptonite or something but they do get to superman. Here is his line Indians 5 innings 6 runs, 2 dongs The weak hitting LA Angels managed 6 hits and 2 runs Boston 6 innings 3 runs. So again people can hit him. So in other words. 1 bad start, and 3 quality starts, against pretty good teams. Right. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
  16. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 09:28 PM) We're all spoiled. It's disgusting really. TO read that people think we arne't there mentally because we are having a bad offensive night for the second time since the first week is hilarious. They are trying their hardest. They just ran into a pitcher that has pitched well against us and shut us down. This is our SECOND time scoring under 4 runs (if it stays this way) since the first week of the f***ing season. Both times were against Sox nemesis in this spacious ballpark.
  17. LOL. This is the best game thread of the year.
  18. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 09:27 PM) This offensive showing tonight is pathetic. I'll use this line every occasion we're shut down by a pitcher--if you can battle off Santana, you should be able to battle off ANYONE. What I've seen tonight from our hitters is pathetic. Watch Washburn's next three starts go something like this: 7IP/4ER, 8IP/3ER, 6IP/5ER. Nice going Buehrle. Way to step up. He went 8.2/2ER in his last start against Det. Just FYI
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 09:21 PM) Trust us when I say that everyone on this site knew it was sarcasm to the 1,000,000th degree. Well good. You just seemed so confused.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 09:19 PM) Amazing.. LOL. It was sarcasm. Didn't think I had to bother with the green.
  21. Washburn is a good pitcher. He almost had a complete game against the Tigers in his last start. But, I think most of it is we just suck real bad on offense. Despite leading the league in runs coming into today. Most of those 123 runs are fluky.
  22. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 08:53 PM) Why do you say that? He still gave up a hit to Jose Lopez. Because if he gets Johjima out, he might pitch Lopez differently, with 2 on, none in and 2 outs. He might not. He could still leave a pitch up to Lopez. That has nothing to do with Widger though. It has to do with Buerhle not pitching well that inning.
  23. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 08:53 PM) I agree, Widger or not Buehrle is pitching. He shouldn't have hit a batter to load the bases. What I hope Widger realizes is Seattle obviously has a plan of concentrating on the outside corner of the plate. Or atleast they did last inning. Three opposite field hits should tell you to begin pitching inside. ANd he called a good inside pitch after setting up Johjima, unfortunately Mark didn't have his control and he plunked him. It happens, even to Aces.
  24. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 08:50 PM) Buehrle had thrown about 4 straight slow pitches on the outside to Lopez. If you look at his swing, he was sitting on that pitch. It's the same thing that happened when Widger was calling pitching with Politte on the mound vs Sweeney. Big league hitters will adjust to pitches if they can establish a pattern. Widger knows what he is doing. If he doesn't hit Johjima there is a very good chance he gets out of that inning. It has nothing to do with what Widger is calling.
