  3. Great game Freddy. Here's hoping the bullpen closes the deal!
  4. Ugh. I'm getting real nervous now. Cmon guys. Get it done quickly.
  5. CMON Aaron. This is ur chance to blow it open again.
  6. Man, Dye is hitting the ball well
  7. I know its a wild pitch, but AJ has to catch that ball.
  8. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 12:38 PM) yes. Uribe got in his way Willie had no chance to throw him back throwing back across his body in short center.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 12:37 PM) Did Willie have a play on Monroe's single to second? Negative
  10. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article...t=.jsp&c_id=mlb Read that. Its updated. DEFINITIVE Next Monday (Oct. 3), the Indians would host the White Sox unless those two teams finish with the best records in the AL. In that case, there wouldn't be a playoff game. Both teams would make the playoffs, and the first-place team is determined by the two teams' head-to-head record. As of Tuesday, the White Sox led the season series, 11-5, and are guaranteed of the better record.
  11. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) Dude, that came from MLB.com. We would play them in a 1 game playoff. Only if the loser wouldn't make the playoffs. They DONT play a play in game to determine the difference between the WC and the division if they are tied and coming from the same division.
  12. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:18 PM) Then why are they saying the Sox magic number is 2? If your scenerio is correct it would be 1. Because for them to be outright champions it is two. If we win tomorrow we can do no worse than a tie. If it comes down to CLE and us for the WC and Division, then they would go head to head. They don't have a play in game to differntiate the difference between a wc and a division if they are both going to make it anyway.
  13. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) If both the Sox and the Indians are tied at the end of the season, and they both have a better record than the loser of the AL East, then they will go to head to head to determine who gets the WC and who wins the division. I don't believe they play a playin game if both of the teams are scheduled to be in the postseason anyway.
  14. If both the Sox and the Indians make the playoffs, WC and Division winner, and the Indians sweep the Sox, and they are tied, they go to head to head to determine who is the WC and who is the Division winner beteween the two, but thats only if they will both make the playoffs,
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:58 PM) Yes it is. I feel pretty good about our situation right now. Aboust the only way I see us having to play in a play in game is if: We lose all four games, Cleveland wins all four games. Yanks win tomorrow and take 1 out of 3. Boston wins tomorrow and takes 2 out of 3. I think we'd be in the 3 way tie with Boston and NYY at that point.
  16. If we don't win tomorrow we will want to root for a sweep in the sox yanks series just in case.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:56 PM) Here's a question I waited for the game to end to ask: If the Sox win tomorrow, they win the AL Central due to head-to-head tiebreak. Do the Sox go all out against Cleveland, or rest the pitchers/players? Its an interesting question. But one I would LOVE to face.
  18. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:55 PM) No. The sooner the better. First thing that uve said that ive agreed with in a long time!
  19. Sholy s*** what a play by Belliard.
