  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) Trust me, there have been hundreds of times where I want to make the statement that I would do anything to take that trade back. HOWEVER, the rest of the roster would have been a lot different. And I actually wasnt as impressed with Carlos' stats as I thought I would be looking at them the other day. 43rd in OPS (Jermaine is 46th) .275 average, .330 OBP. I mean, still really good numbers that would be nice in the middle of our lineup, but Jermaine Dye type numbers. But I just thought they would be much, much better than that.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 07:46 PM) Don't let Nick c***o's size fool you. That wasn't a very tough catch, nor was the liner back to Baker before. Jones was the only catch of the game that was a true tough catch. The point was more that it was a hard hit ball hit right at a defender.
  3. It kinda feels like the perfect storm. Everything is going against us. Great D, perfect throws. Mercy.
  4. QUOTE(BFirebird @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 07:16 PM) Which part...the hits right at them? Or the swinging at the 1st pitch? The hits right at them. We should have had 3 baserunners at least that inning.
  5. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 06:57 PM) Tadahito singles. But we still haven't had an extra basehit. Keep it coming my friend, keep it coming.
  6. *Knock on wood* Hopefully that was the last time we face Mike Sweeney this year*knock on wood*. Go and tear up some injuns now.
  7. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 09:04 PM) I love scoring 9 runs against the worst pitching staff in the majors with your number 2 guy on the mound. And then we have to sweat it out in the 9th because he decided to s*** the bed. Better than him s***ting the bed and us scoring 4 runs.
  8. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 09:01 PM) Where did you hear that? I didn't. It just seems like I haven't seen him pitch in forever so I figured I'd ask and see if something was up.
  9. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 08:59 PM) I love it also when our highest paid pitcher decides not to show up sometimes. Its a bad team, f*** it, take the night off. Oh I don't like that either. But it is what it is I suppose.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) I don't think I'd like the looks of that line in the playoffs. Considering he wouldn't have more than 5 starts probably I'd take those first 5 numbers. Plus that means we made the WS!
  11. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) He faced Minny and their pathetic offense twice, KC and their pathetic offense twice, and Seattle and their pathetic offense once. He shouldnt give up 7 or more runs to the bottom of the AL. Its like someone giving up 7 ore more runs to our offense. That doesn't matter. THe 0 was against the Yanks. Actually I think that is more impressive considering Freddy doesn't care about the crappy teams.
  12. QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 08:47 PM) Yes, but the two non QS's are embarrassing outings. And my bad, its 5 out of 7 QSs. If the offense is decent and scores 4 or so runs per game that means he went 5-2, which is good enough in my book. I'd glady take 0, 3, 1, 8, 1, 3, 7 like he has done of late.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) Fair enough, but I didn't see you say anything about Garcia not getting his job done. He's now had 4 QS in his last 6 starts. That's good enough for a starting pitcher in my book. That's not to say I'm happy with tonight. He sucked. He should be embarassed.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 08:42 PM) For someone who is more positive than any other sports fan I know, you're sure tough on Neal Cotts. Well people on this board keep saying he's so awesome and unhittable, so I expect greatness when he's out there.
  15. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 08:39 PM) Then don't bring in Cotts in the first place. He's now put our bullpen in a real s***ty position. We have Hermanson left, a tired Jenks, and Bajenaru. And Bmac. and sanders. Cotts came in to get those two lefties out so we wouldn't have to face Sweeney. Ozzie showed faith in Cotts to get those two guys out so we wouldn't face the tying run Sweeney. He didn't get that job done, so Ozzie had to make the change to someone who could get Sweeney out.
  16. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 08:39 PM) We have this pitcher named Baj that hasnt pitched too much lately. He might be fresh and I hear good. He's fine if we're up by 4 or 5. Maybe you bring him in in the 5th.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 08:37 PM) We do have more relievers than usual in the pen, but I doubt Ozzie trusts them enough for a close game. If Marte's going to be out for the year, Ozzie has got to let Cotts go longer in the game. Thats a big spot and I'd much rather have VIz (who cleaned up COtts mess last week agianst Sweeney) facing Sweeney than COtts.
