  1. Oh man, we are playign so well and traditionally play so well in the 2nd half. But man, with the stakes, with how our school has played in big games, I can't believe my eyes. PLEASE keep this up. JT Tiller is just playing out of his mind and carrol looks so confident. I just hope we aren't playing them to down and let memphis back in. KEEP THIS UP.

  2. I will go ahead and add that Rob Reiner could make a fun WTWTA movie, but no where near the scope visually that the other directors could take it.

    On principal, I absolutely hate the idea of a Where the Wild Things Are film, but Sendak is involved (Producer) so I guess I have to respect his decision to take the property in this direction.

    The guy who did some of the anamatronics for Hellboy II is doing animatronics in this one, so visually it will probably be enngaging. But that is such a sacred children's book I'm hesitant about screwing around with it too much.

    I don't know. I respect the imagination of spike jonze so much that the thought of him being able to work with the greatest children's book of all time thrills me. Even though he may not deliver, we shouldn't hold ourselves back from ambitious projects like that. I think there are few directors who could've done WTWTA:

    Spike Jonze

    Michael Gondry

    Charlie Kauffman

    Guillermo Del Toro

    Tim burton

    But Gondry cannot reel himself in, Kauffman is too inexperienced, Del Toro and Burton too dark. Jonze is the only one whose creative mind has been able to think clearly and push boundaries without watering down his work.

  4. Wise is aWeSoMe!

    Here's a big difference between me and the rest of the board:

    The board reads ozzie saying he's considering fields or BA leading off and they go apes*** saying how dumb he is.

    I get excited because it means he's not deadset on starting Wise or Owens as leadoff.

    But I'd bet ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS that our starting 2b leads off.

    That is correct. I thought they were extreme in their quest to destroy corg, even though he was a fraud.

    My biggest lament looking back on the old Sox mlb.com crew was good old Sat46 not living long enough to see the Sox "make it to the far shore" in 2005.

    Awww man I remember that.

    I was out of comission when NCORG or whatever he went by left his board. I followed him, HSC, Steff and.......Baggio? that dude was a great poster is he still around?

    What was the story with the Hawaiin dude (NCORG) that hung with Reinsdorf and was one of only three poeple to have seen the diminished skills clause. I remember when he called me a teenage punk who had obviously never been in the city of Chicago. I was workign in the Loop at the time and went off on him. Why'd he leave?

    Someone outted him on never being on the board for the sox.

    I also remember him claiming he was there when they voted down trading Thomas to the Red Sox for trot Nixon.

    Does anyone think Getz could be an option in CF once Beckham takes over at 2B?

    Though not this year, I really think they will move Alexei to CF. It isn't like he's been a player with a position his whole life, reports given have showed that he's been moved around his whole career. Move him to center if Getz earned a position this year.

  8. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 11:11 PM)
    You all are right. Every major investment firm is now dead as they once were. We just need to bury them, and have the government take it all over, since the "buck stops with Obama" now.

    you are phenomenal at taking what people say, miss the point of everyone and extrapolate it to something else nobody, in the world has ever said.

  9. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 03:11 PM)
    I'll go with caring about both.

    well right, but compared to the billions given this isn't the straw that broke the back for me, but the giving of bonuses is just so absurd. They must be the most insulated, self-loving people in the world.

  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 01:47 PM)
    Also, we didn't "donate" a damned thing. The general populace didn't have a choice. It was our elected officials that decided it for us. I believe in most of these situations, public opinion has been decided to let all of these groups go at it on their own, just like the individuals in the general public have to.

    I disagree, because these were our elected officials, I don't think it's far off to call it donating. These congressman are re-elected at a very high rate, so that tells me we are satisfied with their decisions.

    It's like AIG is Jimmy Stewart at the end of it's a wonderful life, except instead of putting the money in to keep the bank level he spent it all on his kids and went to florida.

    It isn't the amount of money being spent I care about. It's people who were largely responsible for the collapse coming away with millions.

  11. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 05:49 AM)
    Obviously, neither do bonuses or earmarks. :lolhitting

    You are defending these bonuses on a bogus legal precedent. Maybe SS2K5. But let me tell you how outrageous it sounds to me, (after the labor unions of the car companies you demanded renegotiate your contracts) that a company like AIG hands out bonuses by contracts in spite of the fact that the company and its contracts would not exist without the federal government. You want to talk about a lack of patriotism. The thought of spitting in the face of our citizenry who donated their money to protect themselves from the consequences of the IDIOTS who took 30% profit over logic that it could all could fail and all those connected could fail, and have US bail them out and then STILL maintain profit because of their contracts only relevant because of our money is dispicable.

    And earmarks I'm not against it's just politics of politically minded people hoping to gain some points in the polls. It's not that big of a deal, I benefit from it, you do too. It may not be the role of the fed. gov't but I don't give a f***. Some things need funding that people don't realize. It's easy to throw out funny names and snark and act above everything, but Alaska and Lousiana, you are disproportionately gaining from these projects you hold your noses at. So without parsing of words. f*** YOU YOU f***ING HYPOCRITES
