or before any good movies come out.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 19, 2008 -> 11:06 PM)Overall, I give it 1 star out of 4. Mildly entertaining in places, touching in a few, but overall it was just a sad little bashfest that provided little of value to the audience.
sounds like an Oliver Stone film, oh wait.

I'd imagine the Republicans are going to court the s*** out of Gen. Petreaus.
-
The republican thread is so pro-mccain all the time. They never mention obama or the democrats. And if they do, it's the truth. And also, this has only happened at two rallies. And the whole point is just that republicans are angrier and meaner than democrats. It has nothing to do with worry of the kind of campaign McCain is running. That absolutely is not the point being made.

Oliver stone is in M. Night Shamylan territory, or rather, reverse that. Made too much money early on, too much recognition, that we are forced into his movies getting wide screenings when they are absolutely awful.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 17, 2008 -> 09:27 PM)The good news there is that the FBI is checking to see if any widespread organized action really was underway, or if this was just workers who are bad at their jobs combined with required submittals.
Some would consider the FBI intervening before an election a good thing. You'd have to be optimistic though.

hot victory, though.

peanut and I are pretty big backers of the two-party system. Take New Zealand for instance, their conservative party will likely get 35% plurality, but they need 50% majority, so likely they will have to make deals with the green party (think of Lieberman caucasing with the democrats to the extreme), so, the conservative party, to stay in power, will make huge concessions to one of the most liberal groups in New Zealand. I think the third party system sounds pretty appealing, but in practicality in the American system, there's a reason they haven't gained weight.
edit: by peanut I meant dukenukem.

I have great things to say about Missouri's journalism school. Especially about Stu Lori, teaching my international media systems class, guy has been around through everything, moscow correspondent, started CNNs world report, and just sits in front of us and spits knowledge. He's awesome.

QUOTE (Soxy @ Oct 16, 2008 -> 06:00 PM)I think Michelle is really pretty. Certainly better looking than he is.
Anyway. I take what I call the Elliot Spitzer approach to cheating/immoral activities. In general, I don't care. Truly don't care. It's not my business. I've made personal mistakes and I hope that I am not being judged by past mistakes. If it doesn't affect your job performance (and isn't illegal), it really isn't my business. It's a personal matter.
I DO care when someone is really hypocritical in their dalliances (ala Spitzer). Don't claim to be pro-family and marriage if you're going to cheat on your wife. Don't crack down on prostitution stings if you're getting services from the prostitutes. Don't lecture me about drug usage when you're popping the vicodin. Don't be a dick about gay rights if you're into anonymous gay sex.
I care about Spitzer because he broke the law.

When you don't listen to Tim Gunn, you are going down.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 16, 2008 -> 07:59 PM)Yes, it was. Obama has had a few more that have stretched or distorted the truth ("100 years" was definitely taken out of context and made out to be more than it really was). I think some of McCain's ads blow anything Obama has done out of the water, though.

you think they prefaced the interview with the fact that they were Al-Jazeera?
-
I saw an interview with him. It reminded me that I don't care. He wanted to get rid of social security. Your opinion doesn't matter to me.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 16, 2008 -> 06:57 PM)The one where he tied McCain to Rush Limbaugh and misrepresented his stance on immigration.
Frankly, I don't care if he tied McCain to Lumbaugh. After McCain won the primary and during the primary, he catered to every gripe that Lumbaugh had about him. So in that way, i think they very much are tied. Lumbaugh has a huge audience, McCain needs them.

Should I go see Dr. Jill Biden or fmr. Sen. Sarbanes on Friday. both are at the same time.
I'm leaning towards Sarbanes, but I've heard great things about Dr. Biden.

QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Oct 16, 2008 -> 02:35 PM)Didn't Perot do that a few times in 92? I remember 30 minute Perot infomercials.
Yep, and thankfully he had pie charts for us.
