  1. Well here's the rotoworld one. Mike Morse - SS - SEA The Mariners called up SS Mike Morse from Triple-A Tacoma. “It hasn’t sunk in yet,” Morse said. “I feel like I’ve been doing good, but you’re always surprised when something like this happens.” Seattle shortstops are dead last in the American League with a combined OPS of .500, so expect Morse to get major playing time. May. 31 - 10:47 am et Source: Tacoma Tribune I wish the best of luck to Mike and hope he does well.
  2. Even though we already knew about this, per rotoworld Shingo Takatsu - R - CWS Contrary to rumors, manager Ozzie Guillen said Shingo Takatsu is in no danger of a demotion to Triple-A. ''We had a little talk with him,'' Guillen said. ''I want him to be back to being him. I think Shingo is just thinking too much. I think Shingo is worrying about what he can do. I told him just to be you, don't worry about it. Shingo is going to be back on the mound, hopefully soon.'' The odds of him closing in Chicago again are extremely slim. 3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) Am I the only one here that thinks Shingo still has it in him to turn around this season and start shutting people down? From what I've seen of him...his problem is nothing that can't be corrected...it's not like he's lost speed or anything off of a pitch - he can't get his pitches over and down, so he ends up having no option but his fastball, and people can just sit on it. If he can figure out how to get his change/curve over for a strike, then it could all snap back into place for him. Right now I think he needs time. Yes
  4. QUOTE(knightni @ May 31, 2005 -> 09:05 AM) You heard wrong. They clarified later that Ozzie was talking to Herm Schneider about Frank Thomas. So Dustin is ok, he has got nothing wrong with him right?
  5. QUOTE(beck72 @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:30 AM) The sox are 3rd in the AL in runs vs LHP, with splits of .299/.362/.488 in 418 ab's. Though a bigger concern is them being 11th vs RHP, with splits of .235/.302/.367 in 1227 ab's. Seeing how the sox will hit off mostly RHP's, they need to improve a lot in this dept. Frank's return may help a bit, as may Gload's. Yet with guys like Crede, Uribe, Everett--CArl's .189 avg vs. RHP is way off his career avgs--showing great differences in their splits, and bench guys Harris [.250] Ozuna [.154] and Timo [.195] almost worthless vs RHP, the sox could use some help from the Left side. If the sox don't improve their numbers vs RHP by the deadline, a deal of some sort will have to be made for a guy who can be a regular in the lineup. A few guys who have been mentioned who could help--Mackowiak [hitting very well vs RHP, .345 with over a .400 obp and good slg. %] Chavez [slow this yr, but good splits vs RHP in the past; but a monstrous contract]; Any other LH bats [or switch hitters who hit well vs LHP] who could see some regular playing time come the deadline? Mackowiak would be a nice addition to this team not only because he can hit RHP, but he is a left-handed bat. And he could play third base for Cruddy.
  6. QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 29, 2005 -> 02:26 PM) You also spelled your screen name wrong .say it aint so That's what it looks like, but it's not intended to be like that. And how would you know if i spelled it wrong? This is how i WANTED it to be like, or I could have people like you saying that i didn't know what i wanted my screen name to be and i spelled it wrong.
  7. And i do realize i spelled Huff's name wrong. :banghead Is there any way i can fix it or will it just have to stay like that. I feel like a complete dumbass.
  8. I chose other and i picked Ryan Freel. He would be a perfect fit for this team. He can run, hit, and play anywhere.
  9. There have been so many different topics about who people want to see playing third base, and everyone has expressed their reasons why they thought that we should trade for that person, i was curious to see how many people actually want that person. And if youy pick other, can you please say the person and why?
  10. QUOTE(Metal_Gandalf @ May 28, 2005 -> 07:14 PM) how many times were WE the team leading in may and didn't go to the playoffs? The other 30 percent.
  11. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ May 29, 2005 -> 08:15 AM) Bruuuuuce Levine just said that they are awaiting confirmation from KW to activate The BIG HURT tommorrow and he also says he is expected in tommorrow's lineup. Welcome to Soxtalk.
  12. Even though we already knew this, I'm just gonna post this anyways. per rotoworld Frank Thomas - DH - CWS Frank Thomas (ankle) is expected to return from the disabled list Monday. Thomas has been recovering from a fractured ankle for 11 months and is currently rehabbing at Triple-A. “If he tells me the same thing he did two days ago, that he feels great, he’s cutting well on it, he’s going from first to third, that he feels like he can come back and help, then he’s the one coming back on Monday,” general manager Ken Williams said. May. 29 - 5:38 am et Source: Arlington Heights Daily Herald
  13. And hopefully his bat will be a presence also.
  14. QUOTE(JoshPR @ May 26, 2005 -> 11:51 PM) His Purpose is to suck You took the words right out of my mouth. And their is no better way to put it either.
  15. You know what this means, Jurassic doesn't get to suck as much with his crappy hitting!
  16. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 28, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) Rain delay time
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 28, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) WHY THE f*** IS CARL IN THE 3 HOLE? I do agree with you. It would be nice if we had somebody to put there :banghead , but for now(at least this game) we will have to deal with Jurrasic hitting 3rd.
  18. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ May 28, 2005 -> 01:31 PM) We have not yet managed to clone 7 Tadahito Iguchis, so someone else has to do it. That clonig part would be nice.
  19. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 27, 2005 -> 10:54 AM) HAHA! From the Cincinnati paper today:
  20. IMO, Willie should start at SS today. He has been doing well when he gets his oppourtunity to play. And could he possibly do as bad as uribe(from the hitting standpoint).
  21. Preston Wilson = Timo Perez (with more power, more salary, and right handed)
  22. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 27, 2005 -> 11:37 PM) Preston Wilson = Jermaine Dye with more speed and the ability to play CF. CF = Aaron Rowand
  23. From the looks of it right now, i'd say we have a 4 game lead.
