Flubs' players blaming the Urinal for losing ways
sayitaintso replied to Jabroni's topic in The Diamond Club
What happened? Last week wasn't it the greatest place on earth to play a game in, and now they blame it for the scrubs' losing ways. -
O ok, my bad. (i thought you were talking about freel. and i do know that mackowiak is not on the reds)

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 27, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) Correct. Sorry for the confusion. I figured that's who it was aimed towards, but i wasn't sure.

QUOTE(qwerty @ May 27, 2005 -> 03:56 PM) Who do you think will be cheaper, a 29 year old super utility man that they control for years to come, or a 35 year old 3rd baseman that is a free agent at the end of the year? Probaly the 35 year old third basemen, but whose career numbers are better? 2001 PIT 83 214 30 57 15 2 4 21 15 52 4 3 .266 .319 .411 .730 2002 PIT 136 385 57 94 22 0 16 48 42 120 9 3 .244 .328 .426 .754 2003 PIT 77 174 20 47 4 4 6 19 15 53 6 0 .270 .342 .443 .785 2004 PIT 155 491 65 121 22 6 17 75 50 114 13 4 .246 .319 .420 .739 2005 PIT 39 118 18 41 8 0 3 18 15 22 4 3 .347 .425 .492 .917 Career 490 1382 190 360 71 12 46 181 137 361 36 13 .260 .334 .429 .763 or 2001 TOR 9 22 1 6 1 0 0 3 1 4 2 1 .273 .333 .318 .652 2003 CIN 43 137 23 39 6 1 4 12 9 13 9 4 .285 .344 .431 .775 2004 CIN 143 505 74 140 21 8 3 28 67 88 37 10 .277 .375 .368 .743 2005 CIN 37 115 25 37 10 1 1 4 20 16 12 6 .322 .435 .452 .887 Career 232 779 123 222 38 10 8 47 97 121 60 21 .285 .378 .390 .768

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 27, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) No kidding? Get outta here. He was only considered one of the best arms in the Angels system, if not the whole league. I really think we have our set-up man of 2006 lined up. Shingo, you're plane is boarding. Hey, I didn't write it, that was rotoworld.
-
Why not go after Ryan Freel? Right now he is hitting .322 with 12 stolen bases. He can play practicaly anywhere, and he would most likely be cheap.
-
per rotoworld Bobby Jenks - S - CWS Bobby Jenks struck out five of the six batters he faced to earn his 12th save for Double-A Birmingham yesterday. He gave up one hit. Jenks has a 2.31 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 23 1/3 IP as Birmingham's closer. He's probably not going to a factor in Chicago this year, but he's becoming a very good relief prospect. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 25, 2005 -> 06:07 PM) So you'd lick a toilet-seat that Bartolo Colon s*** on then cut off your left nut then run naked through Chicago in a blizzard followed by a hot-dog eating contest with the Fridge??? WHATEVER IT TAKES

If we were going to trade with Cincy for a thirdbaseman, why not go after Ryan Freel. He is a utility guy who can run a little, and hits from the .270-.285 range. I'm not sure how much we would have to give up for him, but it couldn't be as much for Randa or Castilla. QUOTE(beck72 @ May 25, 2005 -> 06:43 AM) Guys who throw strikes and attack hitters Thats exactly what i like about brandon, he doesn't care who you are, when he pitches he is going to throw stirkes to them and goes right after hitters.

Didn't Buehrle come up with the Sox and stay in long relief for a year or so, and look how he turned out.
