  1. On Willie Harris: http://www.unionleader.com/article.aspx?he...d7-4c8a00bf2f57 willie looks to have hope
  2. I was very impressed with Thorton on that matchup with Hafner. Great Mound presence, nice pop, and surprising control.
  3. QUOTE(SouthsideBlitz @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 08:56 PM) If that was the case, Arnie Munoz wouldn't have had a 16 etc. ERA in his start against the expo's that one year back. what are you talking about? munoz pitched 3 innings that game, not 0.
  4. what channel would this game be on if re-scheduled? Espn and espn 2 has a full schedule. Hawk and dj are off. They cant just not televise opening day right?
  5. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 04:03 PM) 24 Game Thread or Chat? game thread starbucks coffee or Dunkin Donuts coffee

  8. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 08:25 PM) Samantha Stevens Why or Why Not? WHY Not? Blockbuster or Netflix
  9. QUOTE(Spiff @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 01:03 AM) LeBron did, and they did look stupid, but banning them is retarded. yeah, I just don't get it. I dont see what is so negative about wearing tights. Let them look silly if they want.
  10. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 12:43 AM) He's not. yeah, I have to agree. It's a shame that no one seems even close to the top 10 guys of the 80's and 90's. Everybody's playing football or Basketball. That's the only logical reason I can come with.
  11. QUOTE(Spiff @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 11:34 PM) You have to put Joe Louis, Marciano and Sugar Ray Robinson at the top (he's not even in the poll, but Larry Holmes is?). Louis was a tough S.O.B, and Marciano, though not as skilled, had the equalizer. He could duck, move, take punches, and then catch you with as powerful a punch as there's ever been. And it would be over. Plus, Marciano never lost! 49-0-0. He took out Louis, Archie Moore (maybe the most skilled fighter ever), Ezzard Charles, Jersey Joe Walcott; and that was back when boxing actually had good fighters. Nowadays it's garbage. Joe Louis would have wiped the floor with Evander Holyfield. LDF is right on, and he's especially right to bring up Sullivan and the like. Back in the old days, they fought bare-knuckle and a round didn't end until somebody was knocked down. The fight didn't end until somebody couldn't continue. Cassiuis Clay might be the most overrated athlete of all-time. Im not denying how good robinson was. One problem: He was not a heavyweight ( read the poll) he was a middle and welterweight.
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 11:24 PM) Good thread by the way ranger. Thanks. I miss heavyweight boxing ( what we grew up with at least) I hope that russian guy is the real deal, so the class can make a climb again.
  13. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 09:33 PM) Except that he is showing the modern, crap, version of the Emperor. The TRUE Emperor, the one made by the real original Epiphone company (before Gibson bought them out and drove the once respectable company into the ground). The one I mention is this: This guitar was made to to battle with the Gibby Super 400. It's larger than the Gibby even. The one shown above (in Jim's post) is actually the Emperor II, the Joe Pass model. It's actually quite small for a Jazz box. Fullers ESB. Beer or wine? Beer ( I love wine though) MTV or VH1
  14. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 07:44 PM) Thats why its called boxing.. still beat up guys allot bigger than him... did not have the height or weight in all his heavyweight fights and still kicked ass. Prob.. the smartest next to Ali. If he were so smart, he would have not taken a beating. You totally missed what I just said. Holyfield should have worked on his D. He would have been a lot better. He had the most heart out of maybe anyone who ever boxed. But, that does not mean he is top 5 overall or even top 10. He could have been had he worked his all around game. He probably could have been more been a lot more successful the last five years of his career.
  15. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 06:54 PM) That he did, however, Ali would have outsmarted Mike and tired the guy out. That's exactly how I feel.
  16. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 04:07 PM) Ali, was the best by far, in my opinion. Holyfield takes 2nd all time based in my book.. guy just knew how to fight. Holyfield could fight. But he just wasn't among the best at D. The man took a beating most of his career.
  17. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 04:04 PM) Mike Tyson was the greatest at his peak. I belive his upper body was the strongest out of the list during his peak. I just don't know if he could have done the same damage to one of the heavyweights with great foot work. I think Mike (during his prime) would have been fatigued with someone like Louis or Ali.
  18. I'm sure 90% of us would pick ALI as the best of all time OVERALL. But, who was at the highest peak during their Prime? Some Notables I wanted to add , but couldn't due to 10 maximum Choices: Jim Jeffries Sonny Liston Joe Frazier Evander Holyfield Riddick Bowe
  19. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 03:31 PM) Presley. Dammit. Jelly Belly or Starburst. starburst KFC or Popeyes
  20. QUOTE(farmteam @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 11:49 PM) Family Guy Everything Bagels or Asiago Cheese? Asiago Cheese rock or rap
  21. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 11:04 PM) Big Pussy Wood Or Prior Prior Mcdonalds or Burger king
  22. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) What are the best places to go to in or around the city? It seems like we need to visit an fine establishment now that we are 18. What did u guys do once you turned 18? Go during the week, lots of specials. Most places are about $10 to get in. I dont see a drink limit at most places. each dance is about $10 that lasts a song. You can have a fun night on 40 bucks easy.
  23. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 02:52 PM) WOW... What a s*** guy... God forbid a guy who makes 16 million a year pay for his daughter to have a car and go to community college... and then sue the mom for money when he should of been forced to pay more in the first place... What an asshole.... are you kidding me? 5,000 a month since 97 is not enough to buy that ? Let's do the math here..... 5,000 month = 60,000 a year = 480,000 over the last 8 years. I don't entirely feel sorry for the girl. I agree she should meet her sisters. But damn, they are probably just after more money.
