  1. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 11:13 PM) Rock could you give us anything towards CF? You mention it as a position we can improve on so you would say there is a plan or at least a possibility we go with someone other than De Aza? I would honestly be happy with a great defender in CF a la Bourjos. Nothing at the moment. Keep an eye on it though.
  2. Why cant they make 80 in plasmas? My 7 year old Samsung plasma still dominates for sports.
  3. QUOTE (hi8is @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 11:10 PM) I'm game for him to have another shot at staring 3B. Hoping he can prove last year to be a fluke. Would much rather trade a SP for Lowrie and move Kepp back into a utility role. I think he's a great utility player. Thats about it IMO. 2B (sometimes) 1B and 3B.
  4. So apparently the meeting is wrapping up, I take that as the Sox know they have him pending physical. Ill stay on it.
  5. OMG just saw Iglesias's catch
  6. QUOTE (Dunt @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 11:04 PM) I hope it's high OBP and not just hit contact rate guys. Keppinger was a high contact rate guys as well right? BTW, they LOOOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEEE Keppinger
  7. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 11:03 PM) Who's on the market that fits that bill? Just my opinion but I would say CF, C, SS or 2B and probably will look to deal a starting pitcher possibly
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:59 PM) Rangers-bound, IMO Actually helps us in the market IMO. Keep an eye on high-contact scrappy players, I know it sucks but I think mgmt thinks they have the power at this point.
  9. It makes me so happy to see detroit fans sad.
  10. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:53 PM) So does this mean we are out of the running on any of the potential OF free agents, I mean we should still have plenty of money to go around to add an impact bat and a catcher I'd imagine. personally I think this closes the books on Granderson. Thank God.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:52 PM) I was thinking of something like that, but Santiago should have more value I would hope. Maybe. Beckham hit his ceiling this last season IMO.
  12. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:51 PM) Well Heyman confirmed the deal They are still working, so im not sold its "done."
  13. Guys if I dont answer your pm's tonight ill get to em. Trying furiously to find out if this is truly done and also whats left financially.
  14. QUOTE (toasty @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:47 PM) Though, I wonder if this impact MI is someone sox figure is in the system already (Semien, etc) or is someone like that just bait? different than when, end of 13? I sure hope so! Well. Who in the lineup truly has that veteran "yes he will produce" feeling for you? I have nobody.
  15. QUOTE (daggins @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:42 PM) Very true. I would def. rather have the second round pick and Abreu than Grandy. Right now the wish list is down to Salty, maybe a trade for some infield depth, and a bonafide lefty in the pen. That puts the Sox on the road to legitimacy. Infield depth isnt a concern, I think its impact MI. Every year one of ours is a hole in the lineup or defensively. Our rotation also could be a bit diferent on opening day.
  16. QUOTE (toasty @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:36 PM) If granderson gets close to this it will be a desperate move by somebody I bet he gets close to 60 if not 60. And yes it will appear desperate, if it was the Sox it would be super desperate.
  17. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:40 PM) Rock, I'll have a DM you'll laugh at here soon. Nice hit me up.
  18. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:32 PM) Abreu easily. Not even close. And I sent you a DM Thanks. Doesn't hurt to bother me too. I think fathom got the most info on this deal than anyone since he bugged me to go and get him some.
  19. QUOTE (daggins @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:33 PM) I doubt Grandy would get this kind of money, or this many years. I like Granderson, and the problem with Abreu is that he is a total unknown at the MLB level. Watch. It will be close.
  20. For the naysayers: would you rather pay this money to Granderson or Abreu? Think of the next several years.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:25 PM) So I guess we can expect a PK14 retirement announcement soon? If nobody wants Dunn's contract, could be.
  22. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:23 PM) What's the next plan now that this will be finalized? If you PM me I'll put you on the nugget list. I try to keep stuff off the board to protect some info.
  23. The sox were in it if it stayed below 80 which they thought it would. This was plan A this offseason.
  24. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:01 PM) Thank you. I'm told all hands on deck right now including financial folks. That's usually good.
  25. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 09:54 PM) Rosenthal just was on the fox broadcast stating again that he expects the WSox to sign him. Anyone thinks he reads Soxtalk? Mere seconds after my info
