  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 24, 2008 -> 01:14 PM) Alvarez made a nice barehanded play today. nearly turned a triple play too....his defense was pretty rough a couple years ago, but hes gotten quite a bit better and it looks like he will be able to stick it over there in the majors...hes got a ++ arm
  2. havent been following as much lately...vandy had a shot at the SEC two weeks ago but we lost our last 5 in SEC play and dropped to the 6 seed int he SEC tournament played at Regions Stadium (home of the Bham barons).....i get the SEC tourney on foxsports central, and i promise you the SEC tournament is worth watching....the games are electric adn the players are so in to it...not to mention you get the shot to see some guys who will be top 2 round picks, though beckham and his #1 ranked bulldogs were gone after 2 games
  3. OC AJ Quentin Dye Thome Crede Swisher Anderson Ozuna per Ranger on white sox weekly
  4. will we be able to see this on mlbtv? fox is carrying the mets rockies game here so i wont get the white sox....does mlb carry fox games that are out of market?
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 23, 2008 -> 11:49 PM) They play the Cubs next week, so I'm sure you'll see plenty of complaining from me and Daa about them. and its not even their offense thats been that bad...their pitching has been comical... im beginning to really, really wonder if the NL is so bad we dont even realize it right now. Like maybe bad enough that the only above average teams are the cubs, dbacks, braves and phillies (i suppose maybe the mets)....i really think the cardinals, astros, marlins, and dodgers records are a product of the rest of the league being horrendous.... even assuming those teams are average (which i dont believe....kyle lohse? todd wellemeyer?? braden looper????) that still leaves SEVEN, YES COUNT THEM, SEVEN, terrible teams....nationals, reds, pirates, brewers (zero pitching, overrated offense), giants, rockies, padres in the AL the worst teams are seattle royals and tigers....and you can bet that i think the tigers are a better team than those bottom seven teams, and i even think they are better than the dodgers and marlins... i know the AL was only 22-19 in interleague last weekend, but i really think the AL will stretch it out by the end of the year end rant..........for now
  6. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 23, 2008 -> 09:20 PM) When someone hits a walk off of this jackass, they need to put on a show. I am talking about somersaulting with a handpress at 2nd, and then a bellyflop at home. What a clown. come on willie! come on willie!
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 23, 2008 -> 09:18 PM) Crede had a great, great pitch to hit. yeah you dont usually get a fastball right down the pipe first pitch from krod
  8. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 23, 2008 -> 09:13 PM) WOW! Wise is the love-child of Richar and Willie Harris. haha was he escorted with a fine lady on each arm out to first?
  9. good job to hold dye to a 1b...damnit it would be huge to have him on 2b right now
  10. if dewayne wise walks him off ....ill leave soxtalk forever
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ May 23, 2008 -> 09:07 PM) That Seattle game was great. PK and Buehrle defeated Ichiro. a few years before that buerhle and mulder had two games that were just a tick over 2 hours i believe...one was that ridiculous fog game
  12. tough play for quinlan actually...i thought that might spin on him and eat him up a bit
  13. where are ross gload and timo perez to face krod when we need them
  14. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ May 23, 2008 -> 09:01 PM) As 84 says, let's just make it an avatar bet or something. It would be ridiculous to kick a great poster off of SoxTalk because of an offhand comment. besides nobody else would be there to b**** with me about the cubs, the cubs schedule, and the NL in general
  15. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 23, 2008 -> 08:59 PM) Oh fantastic, now i get to see the biggest jack-leg in the majors pitch for teh Angels in the 9th.... saunders is at 93 pitches...its his to finish unless he get in trouble probably
  16. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ May 23, 2008 -> 08:57 PM) I'm sure most people are willing to let it go, fathom. Don't leave. how bout instead we use the avatar bet that someone mentioned earlier in the thread.....im not sure fathom has ever even had an avatar btw why is floyd still out there? he started this inning at about 100...why not get ehren an inning instead of running floyds count up to 110 +
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ May 23, 2008 -> 08:53 PM) Is Christina Aguilera in the commercial? If so, i wouldn't mind it. its her talking and thats basically it....maybe a half second of her singing...and its not like its anything good...unbearably annoying... though not as annoying as the new taco bell commercial where the guys rap at the drive through....i want to punch the tv everytime the driver says "i gotta spot you?"
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ May 23, 2008 -> 08:51 PM) At least 10 starts, ERA under 5, and I'm gone forever from this site. hes gotta really tank at this point.....roughly 1/3 of the way through, so hes gotta post a 6 ERA the rest of the way
  19. holy f***ing christ mlbtv has to either change up their commercials or just get rid of them....i feel like paul rudds character with the michael mcdonald dvd in 40 year old virgin every time they play that damn christina aguilera commerical....
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ May 23, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) Do we face Weaver tomorrow? Can't wait to hear Hawk blow his load over him. At least if he pitches Sunday, it would be ESPN announcers. he goes tomorrow...but you will be safe from the hawk love fest...game is on fox
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ May 23, 2008 -> 08:44 PM) Just a pathetic night for Thome. hes pressing...hes only seen 5 pitches in 3 ABs tonight...we need better than that from him...if hes not hitting its one thing, but he HAS to get on base at least, thats such a big part of his game
