  1. I agree that Howry's an ass, blah blah blah, but come on guys, those of you saying Zambrano is just "ok" is total bulls***. I'd take him over Freddie, Garland, the usual Contreras, McCarthy just about any day. He's as dominant as a pitcher gets, he just needs to get his head right. Upper 90's, good breaking stuff, and he can go 8 innings, easy, how is he a #2?

    It was indeed packed tonight and a pretty good atmosphere. I finally saw a W during this christmas break after seeing 4 losses at the UC until tonight.  Wirtz must want to play the penguins all 41 games.  Back to maybe 8,000 on Sunday if they are lucky, Bears game and all.

    It was awesome, I stumled upon lower level tickets and I was blown away by how hard the Hawks played. Even though they played the Penguins who are just as bad, they played well enough to beat almost anyone, and really shut down Crosby well. Although Crosby can create scoring chances any time he wants. Munro was excellent as well.

    NIU! but i don't know jack about any of them.

    Stay out of this.... lousy sophomore :P

    This team is a complete mess right now, and I'm not sure firing Yawney would do anything to turn it around. The next coach would still be stuck with fourth-liners on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th lines.

    Well said. This is exactly how its been though, and I think Sutter got the most out of the team. Arnason doesnt play hard and fails to do anything defensively, and I see why Sutter had Arnies back against a barroom wall. f*** it, bring back Mike Keenan!!

    A better journalism program than U of I?  Did not know that.

    If it's the best school in one's major, that certainly changes things.

    I've heard different things, because I too am looking into journalism and am planning on going to U of I or Grand Valley State. Both fit me well, but I think I can play D2 club hockey at U of I so I may choose there.

  7. QUOTE(Pierzynski 12 @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 03:25 PM)
    Don't watch them then.It's not Ruutu's fault that he's getting injured.He's had no luck.

    He's basically Rex Grossman, freak things happen to him.

    But stop acting like a superfan and stop telling people to stop watching. You're either delirious, or have no clue about ice hockey to keep expecting good things out of the Hawks. I watch because I like hockey and the Hawks. I dont agree with anything they've done, but I'm from Chicago and thats the team I should root for.

    Another gritty, hard-fought one-goal loss/moral victory for our West Madison St. Warriors.

    9 in a row on the right-hand side, if you care.....

    They played well, they just don't have any talent. Except for Ruutu, who did everything he could to make this team a bit better. Other than him and Duncan Keith, there isn't much to get excited about.

  9. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 03:55 PM)
    You're such a fan of talent why do you still follow the Slackhawks?

    LOL!!!!

    When did I say the Hawks were talented? The NHL is more talented than the AHL, and given the opportunity the Hawks would beat the Wolves by 6 or 7. There's a reason Steve Maltais and the like were on the Wolves, BECAUSE THEY SUCK. Maltais had 9 goals in 126 NHL games. But damn, did he ever tear it up in the I and the A. Hell, he scored 100 points 4 years in a row. What talent they have down there in the minors...

  10. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 01:36 AM)
    I see Al Mogilny just got dumped by the Devils.... maybe the Hawks should look at getting him and see if he can't help this lackluster offense...

    He doesn't work hard enough to get into scoring areas. And with this team, you need to work way harder than when he was with Toronto etc.

  11. QUOTE(Pierzynski 12 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 01:16 PM)
    Yes i know management blows,but i'm not going to sit here and say crap about them.I get pissed off at them.I'll turn the tv off if they're playing like crap.Other than that, i'll watch them.

    Ok, so youre not going to "say crap" about them, which happens to be true. They're bad, they're organization is bad what else is there to say. I'm gonna watch them too, because I'm a fan, and because I like hockey. But it's my right as a fan, and a paying customer to say whatever I want about this lackluster team.

  12. QUOTE(Pierzynski 12 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 11:41 AM)
    I root for the Hawks no matter how bad they're.I've been a fan for them all my life.

    See that's the thing, we're fans as well, but we criticize them when they do badly. I'm not going to keep saying, "It's ok, we still have a chance to make the playoffs." This team sucks, period. As a fan, I can say that.

  13. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 10:52 AM)
    Well, my dad has season tickets for 24 year at the old stadium, so its hard not be a Hawk fan. However, enough is enough, the team is a joke.

    Yeah, my dad too, and I'm the one who tells em to keep wasting his money because I like hockey. I'm starting to feel bad that a couple grand goes to watch this team suck.
