Here is what Mike Freeman from CBS Sports just tweeted. @realfreemancbs Half of team execs I talk to love Manti, other half say vastly overrated. All of them think Bears taking him. Huge mistake if they do

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 25, 2013 -> 02:19 PM) Again, he'll probably bee a fine LB, but "normal" simply isn't what you look for in the first round. I was referring to his size. People seem to think that he is undersized.
-
Te'o has pretty normal size for a inside linebacker. I really don't think that is the problem.
-
This Rays line up is pretty weak. I would expect a low scoring series.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 25, 2013 -> 12:35 PM) DC has no choice. If they really want to go through with Justice League, Green Lantern has to be fixed, he is a central figure in JL. They also have to figure out how to make a Wonder Woman movie that people will want to see. I dont think the Flash will have many problems though. Wonder Woman seems like it would be a tough movie to make. Why do all the DC characters seem harder to make movies about? Green Lantern actually should be one of the easier.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 25, 2013 -> 01:30 PM) NFL GMs the week before a draft make election-year political campaign workers look downright honest. An NFL GM should run a political campaign. The other candidate would have no idea what the hell you were gonna do next.
-
All the draft news today is hilarious. Every team loves every player. Every team hates every player.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 25, 2013 -> 01:15 PM) How many linebackers look good when their DL is getting bulldozed? It's a short list, because it's zero There is no college linebacker that would of had a good game. That Alabama o-line will have three players starting in the NFL this year and one more will be starting next year.
-
I read somewhere that Te'o was the first really good college player to have a bad game.
-
Comic book movies right now are just awesome. As good as they have ever been. They just need to go back and fix Green Lantern.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 25, 2013 -> 11:43 AM) I don't think they like Smith at all. I think their top 3 are Nassib, Barkley, and Manuel. I think Smith has the highest ceiling out of any QB in the draft, but he's got the second lowest floor too (next to Manuel), and I don't think he'd handle playing in Buffalo very well. Hopefully they pick the right one. Otherwise you are stuck with Kevin Kolb.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 25, 2013 -> 11:29 AM) I've never seen a draft with this many questions leading into draft day. There is a lot of talent in this draft but I don't know how many pro bowlers are in it. There are so many smoke screens too - it's unreal. I like the Jets and Bills little quarrel too. BILLS WILL TAKE AUSTIN TO SCREW WITH JETS JETS WILL TAKE NASSIB TO SPITE HIM HA, NO WE WON'T BUT WE WILL LATER JAGS SAY NOPE LOL WE'LL TAKE HIM AT 33 I'm hoping Austin gets to 8 and the Bills trade down with the Rams and pick up 16 and 22. Then you can take Nassib/Manuel at 16 (because I am already calling the Jets bluff - there's no way they can afford to use a top 13 pick on a QB) and either trade down with Atlanta at 22 or take BPA, probably a receiver. I still think the Bills are gonna take Geno Smith if he is there at 8.
-
Bears and Vikings fighting for who takes Manti Te'o. This is already a great draft.
-
If Bears go linebacker, they should go with Arthur Brown or Alec Ogletree. 3 down linebackers.
-
He gone. two out.
-
3-2 sac fly.
-
Q out. Jones in.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 24, 2013 -> 02:49 PM) 3-1? In an alternate reality the Indians scored last inning.
-
I personally like the Browns strategy during the draft. Take the worst player available at all times. Draft 30 year old qb's at all times.
-
This whole draft is weird and hard to predict. I think there is gonna be a lot of trades in the first day.
-
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 24, 2013 -> 01:43 PM) I would include guard, center, middle linebacker, and tight end to those as well. I mentioned safety, but with the modern NFL, safety if becoming a bigger need. I think there could be 4 safeties taken in the first two rounds.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 24, 2013 -> 01:25 PM) What the Packers are doing is exactly what Im saying the Bears should do, not draft wrs high because good ones will fall. There is no way to argue that drafting a WR in the first round this year is somehow comparable to what the packers have been doing. That is fine if you arent using 1st and 2nd round picks. But he is arguing for the bears to draft a wr in the 1st, exactly opposite of how the Packers have done it. Its 2 different concepts. Yeah some positions have better value later in a draft. Running back, WR and safety. I was just trying to make the point that if a player falls to a team and that team has that player rated as the best player available by far, sometimes that can out weigh need or later round value.
-
QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 24, 2013 -> 01:17 PM) I think the point was how the Packers have drafted WR when it wasn't a "need" and ended up with a ridiculously stacked WR corps, and they lost their best receiver and haven't really missed a beat. Exactly. You can draft the same position every year, if you really value that position and it is the best player available.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 24, 2013 -> 01:11 PM) Since 2006 the Packers have drafted 2 Wrs in the 2nd round, how is that "almost every year"? Its not even every other year. Its twice since 2006, thats not very common. I should of said 2nd or 3rd round. 2006- Greg Jennings 2007 James Jones 2008 Jordy Nelson 2009 2010 2011 - Randall Cobb I also wouldn't be shocked if they took one early this year. They also took Finley in the 3rd in 2008. Pretty much a WR.
-
QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 24, 2013 -> 01:05 PM) I wouldn't use a WR in round 1 for value reasons (considering there's not any real reason to doubt Jeffery yet) but I wouldn't exactly be upset if they did that. Still I'd rather take someone like Ryan Swope later on who'd accomplish the exact same thing. i'm guessing Swope would be there in the 3rd because... you know... he's white. Same speed as Tavon Austin though. If the Bears have Patterson ranked as by far the best player on the board when they draft, I bet they would take him. They have lots of needs, but if they think Patterson is the next Julio Jones, they will probably take him.
