  1. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 01:15 AM) Well during the Gonzaga game I got to hear my very first OH FENSE of the year, that was nice. He's not a big gay guy though.
  2. Consensus 5 star class of 2007 PF Herb Pope picked New Mexico State. That's right, NEW MEXICO STATE. *mind boggles*
  3. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 12:31 AM) I am your father. God, I wonder what the White Sox bid. Lets say the White Sox won the bid for $30 million dollars. What would you say then? And wipe that chocolate off your face. I'd say that was a potential 30 million dollar waste if they did. I want no part of a Japanese player that has done NOTHING in the U.S. that I have to "bid" on just to get a shot to sign.
  4. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 12:28 AM) Embrace the dark side, Luke. Hell yeah, in fact, if i were him, i'd enjoy being the bad guys. I mean hell, I almost liked the White Sox more when we drew 1.7 million and were known as the team in the bad stadium with hick fans in the ghetto that everybody hated. It was more fun that way sometimes.
  5. Matsuzaka, Schmidt, Wakefield, Schilling, Beckett..... Well at least you are building around horses that don't get injured too often!! Red Cubs indeed (although to be fair, Gyroball hasn't been injured yet, but he has thrown a few innings and pitches)
  6. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 11:55 PM) Don't forget Belmont. It's their turn in 2007-2008.
  7. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 11:32 PM) LOL, the last 5 minutes of this game was just horribly officiated, yeesh. Good effort Panthers, couldn't beat the Huskies and the refs. Well they covered the 10, so I'm happy Sad part?? Part of why I told you this game would not be won, no way, by UNI, is I figured the best UNI could do is keep it really close, then see the refs do that to them late. Not a surprise to me at all.
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 11:30 PM) It's just ridiculous. It's been a very physical game all day long and all the sudden they just start calling touch fouls which makes UNI lose one of their best players. Washington is going to win this game because of it. Kind of sucks but oh well. Same thing happened to a lesser extent in the Butler/Indiana game. Well actually, I shouldn't say that, Butler did get more than a fair game. But Butler had it tied with 15 minutes left, and they immediately call a total BS foul on the Butler guy to get him his 4th and get him out of the game. As a result, Indiana takes a dozen point lead and nearly runs Butler out of the game while the star player sits. That's how it goes though.
  9. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 11:25 PM) The refs are seriously taking this game out of UNI's hands. Calling a lot of touch fouls on UNI which got Washington in the bonus with like 9 minutes to go. Now they call a touch foul on Coleman that gets him fouled out of the game. Welcome to NCAA Basketball, pre March. They do all they can to help the big dawgs (haha, get it? :|) from November through February, then in March, help out the mid majors at all costs. I love it.
  10. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 11:20 PM) From all the overseas reports I've read, this seems like the biggest news of the year. How do you figure? It was sarcasm. I'm sure the Red Sox will see some money coming back from Tokyo, assuming they get the deal done.
  11. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 11:16 PM) See, it's funny you mention that the Yankees have paid that amount the last two years through the Luxury Tax. Are the Yankees also going to get almost all of it back through a TV deal in Japan, and then make money on the investment through merchandise, etc? I didn't think so, blogster. Just stop trying to claim your s*** don't stink. I'm sure signing Mr. Gyroball won't lead to any sort of TV or merchandising deals in Japan
  12. QUOTE(TLAK @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 08:21 PM) At the press conference DeRosa said he hit .208 in September because of a mental problem, he was pressing too hard to hit .300. He's a perfect cub. I think he hit .208 in September because opposing pitchers remembered that hey, he's Mark DeRosa and he sucks. Just my $0.02 though.
  13. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) Red Sox : Calling the Yankees the Evil Empire :: Ted Haggard : demonizing the gay lifestyle as immoral Well put. With that said, I hate both and have hated both for years.
  14. HA I didn't even think of that!! Great point, Butler is the next one to beat Kansas in the 1st round.
  15. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 10:33 PM) Wow, pal. I cannot wait till Kansas suffers their first L. You're gettin' your s*** right back... Well Kansas won't lose to an average mid major like Butler, not until the first round of the NCAA Tournament anyways.
  16. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 09:35 PM) UNI-Washington about to start. GO PANTHERS!!!! UNI's getting 10 in this game. I have U Dub to win, but that's shooting fish in a barrel.
  17. Will Indiana and Notre Dame be holding a consolation game to determine who the 2nd best team in Indiana is behind Butler?? Welcome to Kelvin's school of offense.
  18. Well Marquette was a lot better tonight. James and Hayward were dominant, and so were they in an 87-45 win over Detroit.
  19. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 09:01 PM) wainwright is just such a horrifically atrocious coach... There is a lot of talent on the DePaul team....Wainwright just coaches them like he wants to lose the games though. It's pretty amazing, I have no idea how he's had so much success as a coach.
  20. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) if depaul can't beat northwestern, the big east conference slate is going to be an absolute bloodbath for them. Yeah, and their OOC is no picnic either. They will play at least 2 top 20 teams in Maui, then come home to play Kansas.
  21. Northwestern is AWFUL this year, they lost their 2 best players and got beat at home by Cornell on Friday. They are almost a lock for 11th in the Big Ten, and this loss along with the beatdown taken at Bradley (who lost 4 starters) just shows DePaul's progress we heard about this offseason was a myth. Another season failing to even make the Big East Tournament is likely imminent.
  22. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 08:21 PM) I view it as ownership putting money into Fenway renovations as they have done in years past. Matsuzaka will better enhance my Fenway experience, as well as others. It doesn't go against the cap, something Henry has already said he won't come near as Zito or Schmidt would have. I like the move, no I love the move, and I applaud Henry for getting the rights to a player that every team in the majors wanted. Also, nobody has a damn clue how much money it was. It could be 32, it could be 38, it could be 42, it could be 51.1... Nobody knows.. Regardless of how much it was, I have a feeling John Henry won't have a problem feeding his family any time soon. 51.1 is the offically released number sir. Oh, and I know John Henry isn't going poor, but that doesn't change the fact that this is, at best, a HUGE overpaying risk.
  23. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 08:22 PM) I can't stand it, because it just gives Dicky V more reason to rant about Knight, as he doesn't do enough every time he does an IU game. BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS, THE GENERAL ROBERT MONTGOMERY KNIGHT IS THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME BABY!!! *hurls*
  24. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 07:33 PM) They are going to end up putting over 100 million into this pitcher, just watch. Oh easily, easily over 100 million for a guy that has thrown as many major league innings as I have. This could be the biggest bust in the history of sports, easily, if it doesn't work out, which is far from unlikely.
  25. Boston wins for a mere 51.1 million dollars. Utter stupidity to pay that much just to negotiation rights, apparently it'll cost 111 million a year for Zito.
