QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Nov 26, 2006 -> 05:09 PM) Is ND out of the BCS bowl picture with last nights loss? They are ranked 10th in the new BCS standings. No, ND is a 100 percent lock for a BCS bowl any year that they go 9-2 or 10-2 since they are ND. It's not fair, but it's the facts. -

Rex is awful, and is 100 percent responsible for this loss today. He might be good one day, but this years team, which should win it all, will be wasted on the fact that the young QB is a moron. I mean, the Bears scored 3 points today without the 2 terrible interference calls. -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Nov 26, 2006 -> 12:43 AM) Its amazing how bad of a coach Bill Self became to Illini fans when he left Champaign. If he was so bad, why was everyone so angry he left? Charlie Villenueva would have looked pretty good in their line-up. I wasn't angry he left, I thought he was a horrendous coach when he was with Illinois. I'm glad he recruited the final 4 team, but I don't miss him in the least. -

The only real reason i'm sad is this win is over Florida, so here comes the Kansas hype, when in reality you can't accumulate enough talent to ever overcome their coach. -

Wow, good game, sad ending. And who's that stupid ass white guy jersey popping his warm up he never gets off? Dumbass. /random QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 26, 2006 -> 12:24 AM) Oh f*** you Kansas player, we know what team you play for. You sat on the f***ing bench. Are you going to do the same thing when you fall to some crappy Big 12 school? BOO, you beat me to it. Ass. -

The Florida defense has been a travestshamockery tonight. Same elementary passing lanes and inside moves have worked like innovations all evening. -

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Nov 26, 2006 -> 12:08 AM) GO FLORIDA Their lucky that wide open 3 rimmed off, or i'd be a loss already. KU is playing great, Florida awful, and it's tied.....says a lot about how good Florida is IMO. -

Haha Kansas looked EXACTLY like a Bill Self coached team at the end of regulation. Overtime time. Oh, and nice touch on the Bill Self/hair jokes Dicky V.....you know it's a toupee too. -

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Nov 25, 2006 -> 11:48 PM) I could see Florida getting by if they don't have to play one of the top 3 teams. I think you can kind of compare them to the 2002 OSU team that won the title over a far superior Miami team. They both got by with solid defense and just enough plays on offense. OSU's D was better, but Florida is also a bit more competent on offense (no Clarett, but they have dangerous wide receivers and a QB that can make a few plays in the passing game). Arkansas has a dominant running game that should keep it close, but I don't know if they can make enough plays in the passing game. Casey Dick just isn't very good, and he was just god-awful against LSU (I know LSU is good, but he was 2004-Bears-bad). I heard Houston Nutt on ESPN Radio this morning, he said it was 50/50 on him starting Mustain next Saturday. If he does, they have a shot. Otherwise, McFadden better rush for 250. -

The speed of St. Rita and WWS was incredible. I had heard about Lake Zurich's speed all year, but St. Rita made them look really slow. And damn, that WWS team is unreal, nobody blows out Mt. Carmel like that ever. Skarb was good though for Lake Zurich, can't wait to see him at NIU. -Craig -

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 25, 2006 -> 10:45 PM) Just got home from the Chicago Invite: -Richard McBride is still awful. He simply does not fit into a motion offense. He is pretty much useless for the Illini, especially on nights he cannot shoot. -Chestar Frazier runs a better game than Dee Brown ever did. -Without Jamar Smith, Illinois is not much of a team. -One of the refs simply wanted to give the game to Bradley. Of course, he kept on getting overturned by the other refs. -Bradley is legit. They will still be up there with So. Ill, WSU, Creighton, UNI and MSU in the valley. -Daniel Ruffin got his points, but he still cost Bradley. He was miserable on the shooting end. -Jeremy Crouch is an absolute stud. Took awhile for Illinois to stop him. -Bradley still needs an inside defensive force. Four guards won't cut it for too long. Oh don't say the bolded!! Illini Nation will not like that at all. I was at both games, last night and tonight. Rich McBride and Marcus Arnold need to be celebrated as seniors by getting permanent spots on the bench, and we need Randle's defense back, but beating a team like Bradley is a very nice win, especially coming from behind. Interesting to see how the next 2 games go. -

Brady Quinn is by far the best pro prospect QB in the country, but he's not the best college QB, big difference. It was nice to see the fraud that is Notre Dame exposed tonight though. There are MAC teams that could have gone 10-2 with that schedule, and their lack of speed on both sides of the ball was glaring. Florida's exposition is next, either against Arkansas or in their non national title BCS game. -

I'd just like to point out that even Rich McBride agrees with me in regards to Dee Brown (and so does Shuan Pruitt, although he isn't as direct). http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/story.asp?id=252564 Ehh, those two don't have a clue what they are talking about either though. -
QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 22, 2006 -> 01:05 AM) Then there's jane Skinner and the Top Cock. HA!! Combine that with the fact she's married to the NFL Commish Pete Goddell, and I got 2 to 1 odds that Brian Urlacher is hitting that.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 22, 2006 -> 12:30 AM) Gosh damn -- did McRoberts cry on every shot that he missed or what? Obviously, the guards played spectacular tonight, but Oose played a real good game defensively. He got beat a couple of times, but for the most part, held his own with McRoberts and the other Duke bigs down low. What more can be said about the three guards up front? Matthews didn't have a great game, but James played unbelievably well. McNeal played great, too, although I wish he had that take-it-to-the-basket attitude on every possession; I don't like him taking a dribble and a step-back shot, which he tends to do once or twice a game. I'm stoked... for about the first twenty-five minutes, it just felt like a game that Marquette would hang around in but not ever take the lead with. Duke got up five, but that little in-bounds play to James got 'em going. F'n A, Marquette! I actually think the biggest key in this game, besides Barro doing a nice job inside, was that Duke doesn't have a point guard. Turnovers in this game were 19-9 in favor of Marquette as the 2 guys Duke tried at PG (Nelson and Paulus) had 4 dimes and 11 TO's, and as a team Duke had 9 dimes and 19 TO's. The lack of point guard play meant Duke couldn't get the ball inside a lot to take advantage of the size advantage, and they also didn't get any open looks. Paulus SUCKS and Nelson and Scheyer are natural 3's and 2's, respectively, so Duke is going to have problems all year against teams with good guards because they really don't have a single point guard worth a damn, as well as their 2 superstars are now in the NBA and can't bail them out. McRoberts better be really good or Duke sure won't be, and even he looked like Shavlik Randolph tonight. -

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 11:22 PM) Congrats to Marquette, handing rat face and friends their first loss I bet on Marquette to win straight up. MONEY IN THE BANK!!! All of Duke's slow, white guys simply can't handle the speed of Marquette. Congrats to CWSGUY, great win, and that Wisconsin game is going to be an unbeaten showdown it looks like. Nice. -

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 11:17 PM) Playing the likes of the Savannah States of the world could end up costing Illinois a higher seed or maybe even a bid. Illinois will never be in danger of not making the dance. But your right in it will hurt seeding, as the Illini played a similar OOC last year and got a lower seed than expected as a result. -

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 11:11 PM) Well, I can top Savannah State. Next up, State plays something called Lake Superior State. The Illini's pathetic first 5 games are over, and now it finally picks up a little. A game against a decent Miami of Ohio team that played tough at Kentucky, then #25 Maryland for ACC/Big 10 at the Hall, at #15 Arizona, IUPUI, and UIC in Chicago, with braggin' rights vs. Misery and at Xavier on the horizon before league play. -

UCLA beats Kentucky, Georgia Tech beats Memphis. So the final round of games in Maui includes DePaul/Purdue for the 5th (DePaul beat Chaminade, Purdue beat Oklahoma), Kentucky/Memphis for 3rd place, and UCLA/Georgia Tech for the title. Not bad. Oh, and btw....Indiana Purdue-Fort Wayne (IPFW) won tonight 97-95 at Western Illinois.....in FIVE OVERTIMES. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaab/boxscore?gid=200611210638 Oh, and Illinois beat previously 5-0, but still bad, Savannah State 81-34. McBride is back, and had 16 points, one behind Chester Frazier's 17. McBride still doesn't seem comfortable driving yet though, as he was 4-10 from three and only drove inside the arc once (making a shot). -

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 10:32 PM) NOONE IS CLUTCH AS JUICE. ESPN KNOWS IT! Juice will lose his job if he starts next season slow, there will be 2 talented QB's in the program behind him waiting. Not sure what that has to do with the fact that Drew Tate sucked the last 2 years, and Iowa will be better with Christensen next year though. -

J.R. Smith with 36 tonight in a Denver win over the Bulls, he is now averaging about 16 or 17 a game. Good thing the Bulls got rid of his "bad attitude" so they could have a scrappy vet like Adrian Griffin and a 2nd round pick. Good call Pax (I ripped that move from day 1, for the record). -

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 05:01 PM) As soon as Drew Tate leaves, I expect Iowa to perform much better, especially in tough and important games. He was great in 2004, but was a below average QB that held down Iowa the last 2 years. Christensen is going to be a stud too, so they will be better without Tate. They still need to find some WR's though, the fact that Douglas is their only one worth anything isn't helping. -
QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Nov 20, 2006 -> 11:14 PM) That's what happens when you treat comedy as an adult Chuck E Cheez instead of an art form. If you heckle, prepared to be heckled back to an insane degree. This is no worse than Hicks' Chicago "I have a c*** and I'm drunk, I can do anything I want!" incident. I fail to see the outrage about what he said. People came into the show, acted like ignorant jackasses to throw off his set and ruin the evening (Nobody paid to go see the asshats in the crowd starting s***) and he gave them whatfor. Nobody forced anybody to be there and nobody forced any of the people to listen to what he had to say...and most importantly, nobody forced the hecklers to be total jackasses. Are you serious?? Richards is lucky he wasn't beaten to death on the stage, as the crowd cheered. And his apology on Letterman and the fake crying was pathetic, I'd respect him more if he admitted he was a racist ass b****, which he obviously is based on the venom in that video.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 20, 2006 -> 12:35 PM) This trip is always brutal for the Bulls, but still they are a better team than their record. I still think the one big superstar we are looking for is already on the team in the form of Luol Deng. We need to play the ball more through him on the wing and let him create. I agree on Deng, I've been saying that since he got off the bus for his first game as a rookie though.
