  1. Thank the good Lord Hafner didn't elevate that, or we'd be down 5-1.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:21 PM) Do you work with annoying ass Cubs fans? If you do, then I think you know why I hate them even more. No, I go to school with them. But this is why they don't matter anymore. They did before, but the argument died when we won it all. However it could come back if the Cubs were to make the playoffs and do something, which is why once October comes around I'd root against the Cubs if they still are alive.
  3. Thank the good Lord Peralta didn't elevate that, or we'd be down 5-1.
  4. lol this Grady vs. Pods debate is funny. Cleveland had 2 better leadoff hitters on their roster alone than Pods last year.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:18 PM) I'd rather they lose every game instead of win. I would rather them lose too, but I no longer pay attention. They mean nothing to me unless they make the playoffs, at which point I'd root against them lol.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:16 PM) CUBS LOSE! Ehh they no longer matter. Damnit, horrible luck there. Leave it alone Count!!
  7. That looked like something outta the Dusty Baker school of fundementals by Count. Grady can run, but you gotta get over there.
  8. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:13 PM) Just a thought not bagging here but do you think Mack could push Pods to late inning runner/platoon guy........ Mack can do as good except run and his defense is much better then Pods. Food for thought??? Not unless Pods is less than 100 pecent and Anderson proves to be really, really good. I doubt it, but Mack in left field is a much better idea than him in center defensively.
  9. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:10 PM) Good call on that. There are have been some ropes hit today. We've had almost as many hard hit balls today as we did opening night scoring 10 runs and yet have only 1 run, and that run on a bloop. Funny how baseball works.
  10. That's ok, got 1 there. Keep putting up zero's Count!
  11. Ironic with all the hard hits balls we've had turn into outs today that we get the first run on an exploding bat trick.
  12. GET UP!!!!! Argh caught about 5 feet short of a home run in dead center. Damnit.
  13. Come on middle of the order, big chance here. Wow, Thome looking to tie it on that swing but no luck. My goodness, Thome's foul balls and swing/misses are even exciting lol. Pop up, s***.
  14. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:04 PM) Dye has a strained left calf. im not sure how bad that is. Assuming that is all it is, it's not serious. But I hate the term strained, it always seem to mean it's going to be a nagging injury.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:02 PM) Most teams would love to have those two guys at the bottom of their rotation. Who's to say that they won't be better than our bottom 2 (possibly Garland and Garcia)? If Garcia isn't throwing 85 all year, Garcia and Garland is way way better than Johnson and Byrd. Byrd pitches well against us, but is overall an average pitcher and Johnson isn't much of anything at all. Would most teams like those 2 as their 4 and 5? Yes, but if our staff pitches like it can our 4 and 5 blows away Cleveland's.
  16. Also, I don't know how the hell Dye could have cramps. He left in the 3rd inning of an April game with the weather in the mid 50's and almost no wind or humidity. I would hope it's cramps too, but I doubt it.
  17. The thing to remember about Cleveland is one of their big keys is what they got out of the bottom of their rotation in Byrd and Johnson, which on paper doesn't look very impressive, and we got to see neither this series. Not to mention that now Sabathia is going to be injured for a while, so we'll see how their rotation holds up. And of course their is also the issue of bullpen depth that they have (as do we of course).
  18. QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:55 PM) anyone else besides me already think ozzie is playing his bench too much? I thought it all year the last 2 years, but it seems to be trying to find that rhythm where he keeps everybody fresh and gets his bench players enough games to not be cold when they are called upon to play. I wasn't too sure how much I liked how he does it, but with as good and fresh we looked the last week of September and into October last year, I'm going to trust Ozzie on this one.
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:54 PM) Well, if it turns out to be something serious, I do have 2 decent sounding words: Ryan Sweeney. He's going to be damn good, but I'm not so sure he can come in and do what Dye can yet.
  20. Dye better be ok, we CAN NOT have any of the big 3 in the lineup getting injured, especially Dye since he's an OF.
  21. Count calming down, as I figured. Just had a little trouble finding the grip in that 1st inning. Wake up bats!
  22. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:49 PM) I think the Tigers are going to be much improved this season. Yep I'm aware, and Cleveland will have to deal with that too. Obviously we won't dominate the Central like last year (hence my comment about Cleveland for that matter) but hopefully we play very well against our division again this year.
  23. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) jesus we cant hit lee at all and mack should have bunted him over Bunt a slow runner over to 2nd down 2-0 with the bottom part of the order due up against a superior offensive team?
  24. I think Hawk might have been right saying the Sox and Cleveland could be the 2 best teams in the AL. I'm just hoping for 10-9 against them this year and hopefully we kick the crap outta everybody else in the Central like we did last year.
