  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 02:02 PM) I would absolutely love an Anderson/Danish for Inciarte trade though. Inciarte would then cause you to be giving away potential HRs in an outfield slot, that wouldve been provided by a different OF in his place which we cant afford.
  2. QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 11:53 AM) I really am not interested in any of the FA that are left after Cespedes. I would love to get one of the Colorado guys but like we have said before there isnt anything left to trade unless you want nothing left in an already weak farm system. It will not break the bank to trade for a Colorado OF at all. Those are guys who are solid/unspectacular. Even CarGo isnt some prime property.
  3. http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/yoenis-...osenthal-012116 reading this is just a 100% total face palm moment
  4. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 53s54 seconds ago The unknown in Cespedes talks is whether other teams also are in. @jonheyman first suggested that #Nationals’ offer could be five years.
  5. QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 03:34 PM) Conspiracy theory: The Nationals do not like someone in the White Sox front office. It started when the Sox tried to trade for Adam Dunn at the trade deadline. The Nationals are letting themselves be used to increase the price that the Sox or Mets would have to pay. We also stole the cherished Nieto right out of their hands. The cherished.
  6. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 22s23 seconds ago Sources: #Nationals’ offer to Cespedes is for five years. #Mets unwilling to go beyond three. Dollars not known.
  7. I like it! Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 33s33 seconds ago Albers will receive $2M base salary in 2016 with $3M club option or $250K buyout for ’17. Maximum $5M for two years.
  8. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 14s14 seconds ago Source: Free-agent reliever Matt Albers in agreement with #WhiteSox on one-year, $2.25M contract.
  9. Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin 19s19 seconds ago Chicago, IL Have heard White Sox are exploring bringing back Matt Albers. Just at that stage. Albers was team's most consistent reliever in '15.
  10. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 07:06 PM) http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/colum...120-column.html Have not heard a thing on Fowler. I guess he's waiting for Cespedes to sign and then his market will come to him? Second half last year Fowler went .272/.389/.463.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 01:47 PM) Mibelt is on top of things. Mibelt is what holds everything up
  12. Mibelt Rodriguez ‏@MibeltRodriguez 35s36 seconds ago Developing: The #Nats have offered a 5 years, $100-105 MM deal to OF Yoenis Cespedes. #MLB
  13. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 01:37 PM) What does Danks have to do with anything? #WhatAboutDanks
  14. The only thing you can think is there is massive behind-the-scenes badness with Cespedes. The whispers of that with Puig are all over the place, but not Cespedes. Slight primadonna behavior but whatever, that's about it
  15. Slit my throat for me Bob NightengaleVerified account ‏@BNightengale The biggest surprise now is if #Nats don't sign Cespedes. They appear to be the only team interested in giving him longer than 3-year deal.
  16. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 01:32 PM) Torches are lit and it appears its only a matter of time before the castle at 35th and Shields is stormed. Film at 11 ! Our park stormed with fans? It's a first. We should play in the winter, then. That's been the issue i guess all along

  18. Case ya care: Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeyman 45s45 seconds ago George kottaras agrees to minors deal with giants
  19. Adrian Woj of Yahoo mentioned the Bulls were frontrunners for Caron Butler, and then right after his report came out, Butler signed with another team. It's hilarious but these things go out there and nothing happens. If Washington wants Cespedes, they would have him signed right now. What is the wait for? It is almost February. Everyone wants to get a bargain with Cespedes for some reason. You think perhaps it has to do with his character or his inconsistency through the years. Have to be possibilities.
  20. Ritz Carlton guy has deleted his tweet :(
  21. Still feels like the Nationals are being used to try to pull money out of other teams. They really are fine at OF and the only advantageous thing for them would be to move Werth in a corresponding move, but that will be very hard to do (in a way that benefits them).
  22. Any of the starting Nationals outfielders could put up a pre-2015 Cespedes WAR year. But he'd improve them so I cant discount them having a need. I'm just surprised by it a little. Guess they seek perfection.

  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 09:55 AM) Really doubt they are negotiating in person with the player. Plus, there are better hotels for a young millionaire. Everytime i walk by the Waldorf Astoria, i think to myself how the rooms there must be gold plated top to bottom
