Is there any other team in baseball in a worse position than the White Sox? The minor league system is bare. The controlled assets on the main roster are either under performing or sunk costs which means if they do try to sell they will get diminished returns.

The payroll is seemingly maxed and the budget is on the way down based on a abysmal 2023 season. They wont ever do what it takes to sign a superstar. They wont hold anyone accountable and in the off chance Hahn is relieved of his duties they wont go outside of the organization to replace him and change the culture.

Where is the light at the end of the tunnel?

The Padres are 4 games under .500, in a mediocre market, with 3 massive contracts paying 2 players into their 40's and a 3rd who's a juicer idiot that's always injured. If it doesn't work out in the next year or two, they're absolutely crippled for over a decade.

That’s simply not accurate. Tim has 3400 PAs. He was below average for the first 1650 of his career (.260/.700), absolutely exceptional for the next 1300, and for the last 500 he has declined back to basically a .260/.700 hitter - if we are being generous about this year not being a trend further down.

I really like TA and I would gladly take some of the distractions to have the fire back in him. At this point, I don’t know what will help, but he needs something different.

Anderson put up 3.7 WAR in 2018 while hitting .240. Gtfo with with your batting average. Tim has been well above replacement in every year of his career except 2017 where he still hit decently but got hammered by dWAR. Tim Anderson and Gordon Beckham are nothing alike as baseball players.

TA was the toast of the town 48 months ago. Dude's performance just sucks now and you will not get away with Anderson's comments and general persona when you're sucking. The fans turned on Beckham as well. He got a lot louder boos than Anderson has to this point.

Notice how different the tone is? They're hating on Tim because he's "outspoken and arrogant." They hated on Beckham because be was really, really bad for 90% of his career. The racist undertones are undeniable and obvious. Anderson has been really, really good for 90% of White Sox career. The 2 players couldn't be any different.

Wow, talk about someone with levels of delusion!

I guess you have never been to a Yankees or Phillies game.

Btw, when you find that perfect fan base that never boos players when they play bad or deserve it, please let me know.

Or maybe fans are booing Tim...because of his arrogant and delusional attitude and not backing it up! I don't see the fans booing Burger or Vaughn when they do bad. Oh that's right, those two and other more humble players on the Sox ARE NOT walking around with this over-inflated ego putting up lame numbers.

Its great to talk the talk, but a player better be able to walk the talk too. I guess Tim didn't learn that valuable lesson when you're playing professional sports.

At least we aren't Philly fans isn't the win that you think it is. Go ahead and continue to throw Tim Anderson under the bus. At least it's consistent. I just feel bad for the next black American kid we develop. A lot of the fan base has a tradition to uphold.

The fact some players if any, may not want to play for the White Sox...has nothing to do with the fans.

The reason Tim Anderson apparently hates this team and Jose Abreu suggested a bad culture here, is only because of the Horrible Owner, dysfunctional Front Office and terrible manager and coaching staff.

The Sox fans are probably one the most loyal fanbases in baseball. It's a credit to the these loyal fans that still even go to the ballpark, knowing how bad this team has been and how expensive it is to watch a bad team lose all the time.

This post is Tim Anderson levels of delusion. The fan base is one of the most toxic imaginable, with a reputation for racism. This is the same fan base that boo'd Frank Thomas ffs. That Tim Anderson is the new whipping boy is no coincidence.

I'd like to see the list of everyone in on Tatis before Keith Law was saying he was going to debut quite high on his Top 100 list... he just skyrocketed from that moment on. the scouting radar, like this 16 year old Salas kid (catcher) that Law also pointed out in recent weeks is going to be one of the best prospects in the game, eventually.

A couple of the Future Sox guys were on him right when he signed, long before Law ever saw him. I'm not joking when I say it was the best internet fan scouting I've ever seen. I remember one of the guys  was a regular on that board who was from California and rarely posted on the main board. Lots of posts, but I can't remember his screen name.

It was the classic, wrists/bat speed/sound off the bat.

Worst GM or not, why in God's name would he be allowed yet another shot to rebuild when he failed in that endeavor as well as failing to compete on the fly from 2013-2016?

What exactly can he do well... besides trade very favorable controlled contracts for those three younger  Sox players?

Let's not forget when he traded Frazier Kahnle Robertson etc., to the Yankees, he got ripped off.

And the Tatis trade, when all is said and done, will cost how much in lost fWAR?

I'd fire him simply because it's a results driven league and his teams haven't produced. However, the collection of talent he was able to put together in the rebuild was pretty extraordinary. I'm angry at the outcome, but I think, for the most part, Hahn did his job. It just didn't work out and we have to move on. I won't ever feel any ill will toward Rick Hahn.

With that said, the Tatis deal is probably the worst in Sox history and might be fireable on it's own. Kudos to some of the guys on the FutureSox board who had him pegged as an elite, elite prospect before he came close to blowing up. It was probably the best example of amateur scouting I've seen on the internet.

Gio moving on is suprise to noone. Most of us just thought we'd be in a better place when it happened. Personally, I wouldn't sign him to a mega deal. He's talented and has very good stuff, but his stuff isn't good enough to pitch through a lot of adversity.

Most embarrassing play since...well, most of last season.

But just emblematic of entire organization collapsing across the board... like that Gordon Beckham drop tumbling over the mound with Harrelson practically losing it on air.

Kopech... a pitcher... the ONLY player to do the right thing there on the entire infield.  Running the base runner away from the next base and towards the bag, in this case, second.

    Almost no pride remaining.

Somehow Kopech didn't completely implode into a crooked number... but just wow.

Isn't there a more productive way for you to get attention?

Quentin Dye Thome AJ Everett Uribe Crede Rowand etc.

Those players loved to play hard and almost never sat unless they had no other alternative.

Different breed of ballplayers back then.

Every one of those guys was on the DL on a ton. Wtf are you talking about?

Moncada hit .435 in the WBC, with a ton of power, and that was met with silence. Which is fine. But then someone collides with him in the outfield which somehow means it's time to start taking shots at him again.

    I don't get it.

The Sox fan base is toxic as hell, as evidenced by Caulfield's heel turn when being as negative as possible became the cool thing to do.

I don't care if he's guilty or suspended he's a fucking ass hat. His words scream "ignorant asshole", without a shred of self awareness.

Who can root for someone like that? We've had plenty of jerks on the Southside but this guy rises to the level of ass hat in a way Swisher or Belle or even Laroche did not.

Jesus christ. AJ is a hero on the southside and he's one of the biggest pieces of s%*# in the modern era.

I am really hoping for a fast start to get me going again.  I never have been so meh about baseball.  After the strike years I was mad, and didn't go to a game for about 4 years, but that was anger.  For me, it is just apathy.  No excitement, no buying tickets, hats, etc.  I just can't give it any energy.

For some reason I'm the exact opposite. I have a feeling this team is going to click and have a chip on their shoulder. They're still extremely talented.

I turn 68 in August, have been a fan around the time I was five so this marks my 63rd season.

I can't recall the last time I was so unenthusiastic about a season.

    "World Series contender..." LOL

Thanks JR, Kenny and Rick, the Three Stooges of baseball.

The Sox hope to have a good season, hope is not a recipe for consistent success. It's baseball...anything can happen so maybe the baseball gods will smile on this tortured fan base.

To be fair, you've never been enthusiastic about anything related to the White Sox. You were even miserable in 05.
