If the official scorer deems him to have pitched effectively yes--this situation happened the other day with Logan.
The save is the most arbritrary of all baseball stats.
-
Welcome aboard.
Although it still amazes me in the age of Google, and the amazingly easy say, "mlb save rules" search-- that people start threads about stuff like this.
-
Screw going to Politte this inning...bring in Jenks.
Nah, maybe mid-inning.
-
what where Brians walk rates like in Charlotte?
-
He was pitching his best baseball of the year in the middle innings. The Angels took very good swings off of him last inning....basically because they adjusted to the pitches. He better be out now though.
Cool thanks, I've just been following online and in the game thread. Saw that 1st and 3rd 1 out and got nervous.
FG is a total headcase--it seems most of his problems are mental.
-
How the hell is FG even in this ballgame? He's walked a freaking tightrope all night.

That makes me miss Jose Valentine and his normal day of 1-4 with 3 K and a 3-R HR
And a throwing error.
-
Our catchers have not thrown a single person out yet.
You know, I can accept that from AJ if he continues the nice bat-work--but remind me again: what is Widger's strong suit as backup catcher?
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Freddy pitch well in the WBC? I thought he was bringing his usual low 90's in that tourney.
-
Scott Podsednik is a f***ing headcase. He needs a f***in shock collar on the basebaths.
-
Hey MB great game vs Seattle. Hey are they cheating???
They stole his drugs.
-
Yea, through dumb luck or careful planning KW hit gold with Dye and Iguchi especially--among last years signings.
-
You guys slay me with all this "Ozzie's fault" crap. jpshakehead.gif
Yea, but the Oz wouldn't have it any other way.
-
do you think the Sox team is better suited for a smaller, homer hitting park? In my opinion, we're a better team when we're mashing homers and our pitchers are keeping the other team in the park.
I don't think so. The Sox don't have a lot of great K guys, or great G/F guys, so I would say that the bigger parks are actually to the Sox's advantage--especially with the range of our OF.
Yea, I chalk this series loss up to the pathetic lineup Ozzie trotted out there for the 1st game. It's not like this is a team of geriatrics either. I can see the starting C, Dye, and Crede seeing some rest, but even then--not all at the same time please.
Tonight was just a game were the hard hit balls were at the wrong part of the field. Mark made a few mistakes, and the Mariners had some clutch hits. I'm not really upset, just gotta come back next game.

Wow, more patience at the plate please.
-
oh great a Singleton play by play inning. God this will be bad. I'm drinking everytime he says, "in case you're just joining us".
-
This game is too fast, we need an intermission or a game of red rover to break it up.
This game can't get over fast enough for those on EST.
-
the defense is fun to watch.
-
Wow, way to get at least a run in with Buehrle on the mound.
-
-
"it's a ground ball they're going to try and get two", thanks Farmer.
-
hiters count...doesn't want to load em up...meatball time.

I have a good feeling about Dye right here.
I loves me some Pods... but WTF?

LOL, I can tell you that outfielders usually have 12-14" gloves, wherea s IF'ers usually use 10-11" gloves.
The smaller gloves allow the infielders to get the ball out more quickly. Obviously, in the OF, getting the ball out quick isn't as important.
Some IF'ers like to were a 10" halfway off their hand. Personally I was never able to do it--it takes quite a bit of skill, but I've seen a lot of good fielders do it.
