  1. Enough ai crap, the thing is he's already had TJS right? I didn't find many stories in pro pitches with a flexor strain after TJS but the few I did (including some guy on the Cubs) it's not good. It certainly doesn't indicate a healthy arm. He's going to be shut down for 3 months and there's still a decent chance he has to have some sort of surgery anyways. Sucks but what you do man, it's just luck of the draw with SP, you have to stockpile and keep churning. There isn't a single team in baseball with an elite all home grown rotation. I don't think there's even more than a handful that have 2-3 solid SP from their farm at any given time. If we get 2 out of Smith, Schultz and Tanner that's not bad at all.
  2. everything seems to indicate he won't be traded this season, which I think we all need as Sox fans. Offseason sure, but just let us have a semi enjoyable season for once.
  3. Ooh I like that new nesting on the reply feature. Anyways I'm autistic AF about trying to find Japanese media on him and yes the Sox do have a lot of new fans and interest in Japan. Youtube shorts has a lot of him if you search his name in Kanji. Many have said that they want to plan a trip to Chicago to see him but need a guarantee he will be in Chicago. If we had a smart owner I'd assume this would be no problem, but who knows.
  4. He was a pretty light bat, especially relative to some of his star peers in CF during the 90s when he was in Chicago. He had his best year (7.2 bWAR!) in his early 30s in NYC. Finished with a career OPS+ of 95 but 30.2 WAR. Nearly a HOVG player and one I always enjoyed watching. I was not at all diminishing Lance by comparing him to Peters, just found the similarities interesting at age 26 in Chicago in CF.
  5. Peters > Acuna. Peters is the all glove light bat CF that we haven't really had since oh, Lance Johnson? Interesting, in his age 26 season One Dog slashed 285/325/357 over 151 games for 2.6 bWAR and a 93 ops+ in 151 games. Peters in his age 26 season is at 273/324/318 with an ops+ of 82 and .5 bWAR. Projected over 151 games, Peters would basically be -- youngish Lance Johnson, at least for a year. That's neat. edit: who was that great white hype CF we had back circa like 2010? I remember he made several great plays defensively but couldn't hit a lick then just got hurt and fell out of MLB.
  6. let's hope for the latter. I was wrong Kay is fool's gold. Tires way too easily for a starter. Might be mildly useful as a swingman if he can pump 96 for an inning or two. maybe he can take the Leasure spot.
  7. Whoever the scout was that recommended Colson in the draft needs a raise. He's been one of the best players in MLB since the day he came up. If he played in any other market the hype would be non stop. God, imagine him with the fucking Cubs.
  8. His heart never seemed all the way into after the injuries, maybe he's just enjoying life peacefully. Hopefully.
  9. it is fairly insane that 4 guy all rated in the top 30 prospect list at one point are all basically out of baseball in Moncada, Eloy, Robert and Kopech. Robert sounds like he's cooked. A bad disc? He'll be lucky to get a MLB gig next year if he can't workout for 6 months.
  10. He has a herniated disc. FFS man. Oh well at least we got something for him. He's done.
  11. That's exactly it. It's just prospect fatique and boredom trying to find a reason not to draft him at this point. Doesn't help how ignorant the people paid to cover this stuff are as well, starting up non sense discussions with no basis in reality.
  12. Both. The floor is a solid 3-4 WAR SS with 6-8 WAR ceiling.
  13. For the first time in MLB history there are more Ks per game than hits. I think some teams are really having a hard time adjusting to the TTO LA era -- both sides of the ball. For whatever reason the Sox seem to have finally become middle of the curve on it, after falling drastically behind under Hahn. Some interesting stats: Sox are first in pull percentage, 14th in LA, 13th in barrel %, 11th in hard hit %, and 16th in xwOBA. Everything needs to be taken in the context of the last three years but it does appear that at least for now, the Sox have emerged as simply a mediocre to bad team with no real bad contracts and a solid farm. If things keep going like this, Ishbia will be inheriting a much healthier franchise. One day at a time.
  14. Like 8 months ago Colson looked like a guy that would never be anything more than a platoon bat 3B. Now he's looking like a legit star 5 war SS.
  15. Pitching has been pretty shockingly competent the last two weeks.
  16. One of the least impressive sweeps of all time. That said, nobody is feeling sorry for the Angels. Good job winning the games regardless.
  17. this angels bullpen is horrific, wow.
  18. kelenic was obviously on the juice as a prospect. he's shrunk like a popped balloon.
  19. we are getting fucked by the umps this series.
