  1. Dodgers broadcast is insufferable, might have to do John tonight, fml.
  2. Looked fine doing a 70% jog or so in the video some japan accounts posted on twitter. Key thing will be how the leg responds the next day. I'm rehabbing a decent calf strain myself and after testing it hard the next day it's always sore. Sign of scar tissue to break and more healing to do. He's got some of the best in the world on it and all the prehab and rehab gadgets you could ever went and to boot he's a 26 year old pro athlete. I'd think he's back in the 6 week timeline.
  3. Chavez Ravine is also objectively a dump. It's only that Dodgers aura that fills it. If they go back to what they were prior to Ohtani they'll have 13K there on a random weekday night soon enough. That was a really awful article and it just kept going. To be fair, the SB Nation blogs have largely cease to be relevant outside a few as all the good editors moved elsewhere.
  4. I just read the Dodgers SB nation blog. They can get fucked. bunch of arrogant assholes. I hope we sweep their ass and it sends them into a tailspin and they miss the playoffs.
  5. Ok no Ohtani just give us 5 innings 3 runs Kay.
  6. Ironically the most sad the Sox ever made Jason was the other week.
  7. It just makes his backstory about being a D1 level pitching talent until he blew out his arm even more of "yea, sure John" thing. He clearly wasn't around much baseball until he got this gig. Basic things he still struggles with and Stone has to bail him out. Speaking of stone, last game with costas, pitch clearly hits off the forearm, not elbow guard of some Brave, replay plays 2-3 times, Stone, arrogant as ever, doesn't even correct himself. I mean come on man. That's what happens when you have a blank check from JR for decades. You can't even inform the viewers that that you said a minute ago wasn't actually correct. With TV it's obviously less of a faux paus but still.
  8. He's not popular on Sox twitter. He's just a bottom tier play by play guy. Is what it is. He's improved to an acceptable level but is it quality? No.
  9. I don't know why they wouldn't at this point because having a better team on the field will result and more revenue and Beni is a sunk cost. They should have just put in a better buyout, what a stupid ass contract by Hahn. Even if in theory you could see the upside the downside was never protected against. Next year should have just been a team option with a 3 million buyout or something.
  10. Sounds like something you order for brunch at middle eastern restaurant that come with a delicious green sauce.
  11. Well if you think Mune takes the full 6 weeks he's back July 10th. Sox already absorbed 1/3 of it.
  12. Maybe they can eat some Beni salary and get him shipped out as part of a bigger trade. He's clearly the odd man out given he can't play a position. He has a 101 wRC against RHP. Not exactly mashing in that role as a lefty DH.
  13. Yea I chalked it up to just running away with the division and we'd come out fired up for the Astros series. Got our asses kicked. In hindsight we also got career years out of pretty much the entire SP and that wasn't going to be sustainable. We figured we'd get Eloy and Robert back as stars and we never did. Just a complete collapse on so many levels and Hahn bears all the responsbility.
  14. The 2021 team was interesting because it was a really good team that had an obvious flaw (defense). Looking back at the stats, while the position players were solid (finished 12th in fWAR) it was the SP that carried them and the staff overall. Sox led MLB in fWAR from pitching and K rate. Rodon, Cease, Lynn and Giolito combined for 22 fWAR. The pitching then completely s%*# the bed giving up 32 (32!) runs in 4 games to the Astros. Now, maybe they were cheating again, I guess we'll never know. My memories of that series are basically getting blown in game 4 and feeling disgusted, not much more left.
  15. No reason not to believe him and he DHs anyway. Oh well. They aren't playing that great lately and we've been strong at home, I think 2 of 3 is doable but I'd be fine avoiding a sweep.
  16. I think the 22nd is a bit early as the ramp up now will require probably 4-5 AAA games. I'd imagine he starts a rehab assignment Monday with Charlotte and plays his first game with them Tuesday, get in 4-5, and joins the club in Chicago on the 24th.
  17. I almost posted it, I saw it too after a few more watches comparing him with vargas and didn't want to post it. Yes, it's there, the back tilt that all great hitters have is there. admin seeing it too, yea.
  18. Him and Vargas have similar builds and swings. We'll see how he does when the inevitable AA promotion hits but a real talent no doubt.
  19. Well if they don't think there's anybody worth it left in this class might as well trade it. Sox don't have the best track record here so hard to trust them but hey, the org is as deep as it's been in a decade probably since so yea, whatever, keep building.
  20. Well s%*#, new Sox in all the ways I guess. This feels like one they would have tried to get in in prior seasons. Oh well nobody can get hurt on a wet field and Colson's back gets another rest day.
  21. I mean they can play under a drizzle. I'd imagine they are going to wait at least another hour. Off days in August are precious. I see what you're saying on the radar but maybe they get a 8:45ish start in.
