  1. Mets doing Mets s%*#. I don't really want this guy unless it's for someone of no real consequence and we eat some salary.
  2. Well entering play today FG has us at 48% to make playoffs. It's basically tied with the highest mark of the year. We were slightly higher on June 29th. I'd say that's more than enough to make some additions. Not like sell the farm type additions but a bullpen arm or two and a back end starter would help get those odds closer to 60%.
  3. Girardi made a great point on the broadcast Wednesday: there isn't a single SP on the WS roster with post season experience. I'm not like a huge experience matters guy but it doesn't hurt and adding a SP with post season and pennant chase experience might not be an awful idea.
  4. Wouldn't take that much given his injury and fair but not egregiously team friendly contract. Bonemer and pick two of the orgs 8-15 type guys. That said, I don't have interest. His medical history scares me.
  5. Speaking of not sounding concrete, Jordan Hicks has a 6.39/9 walk rate but his xERA on FG is 3.11. He has a .29 HR rate. In 78 batted balls he's had one barrel allowed. He strikes out a little over 1/3 of hitters faced this year. what an insane profile. there's no way he can keep this up, but at the same time thanks for what he's already done.
  6. Gonna hate watch this Dodgers Mariners game. Wish both teams could lose. Firmly rooting against Seattle at this point, wild card contender, and their fans were way too cocky at the game and I'll be back at another one next week be nice to talk some more s%*#. Good to be invested in baseball as we flip to August. Been a few years.
  7. He's doing things at his age that usually get analytics oriented scouts quite excited. Frankly I think Eric just missed here, and that's going to happen when you are trying to scout 500 guys to make a top 100 list as a random writer. Sure he's talented at what he does, but he's just one guy, same as Law, except at least with law he seems to want to see guys in person. Eric just looks at spreadsheets and reads primary accounts. If I'm wrong someone call me out, but I don't recall reading many first hand reports from him over the last decade at FGs.
  8. Inexplicable. Saw that and posted on it the other day. FGs has some strange evals at times. They had him 33rd preseason.
  9. Bonemer will be a pre season top 10 guy at this rate. Special talent. Could end up one of the best players to ever come out of Mid Michigan.
  10. f*** ass Royals blow it in the 9th. Twins waking up from the dead was not on my bingo card. Weren't they like 14 under .500 or some s%*#? At this point they might be as much of a problem as the Indians. Tigers look like they are selling, hugs for Skubal, sold off the last million on Jake Rogers' contract today.
  11. Little off. 7 non manfred runs allowed in last 32 innings. Zero non manfred runs allowed in the last 17, which is crazy.
  12. Goal is 88 and take division. 86 would be acceptable and give us probably 50/50 shot at WC. Anything less would be a bummer but still tremendous progress. It would be nice to get everything going at once, offense, SP, bullpen. It's been one but not the others for the last 8 weeks or so. We're staying afloat, but be nice to get hot and rip off 8 of 10 or something.
  13. There's little if anything out there catching wise. Yankees are desperate too, we'll see if anything goes down.
  14. What a strange ass trade. Salary dump for Tigers, but why the f*** do the orioles want him? We could have done better. Rogers is a strong leader and solid behind the dish, he'd be better than Romo and Quero despite him not being good either.
  15. Enjoy. Melt down in the Bronx. https://www.audacy.com/stations/wfan
  16. Having an ace pitcher, and we've had one one way or another between Davis and Burke, is really key. Lineups run hot and cold, even good ones, usually an ace stays consistent. Lets hope Martin can find it again and Burke remains elite.
  17. Hicks and Dominguez did their jobs to perfection in huge spots back to back games. Everybody on the team has had at least a few positive contributions in big spots this year. Need to get the bats going down in Tampa. Might be good for the guys to get on the road honestly, seemed to be pressing this homestand at the dish.
  18. There are no mysterious losses, but there are mysterious wins. Japanese baseball saying. Yankees on the wrong side of that aphorism the last two.
