  1. Williams is trending towards a solid but not franchise QB. I think he can build on that performance but it's worrying that his body language in the 2nd half seemed to match the quality of his play. He seems like a guy that lets things spiral mentally instead of playing down to down. Opposite of what JJ showed. Swift sucks and should never ever be a primary back. At best he should split carries. He's such a waste of a down on 2nd an 3rd and short. Need to find someone else. Division looks to be GBs after week last night. We'll learn more about everybody else this weekend. One of the Bears or Lions will be buried at 0-2 and 0-2 in the division.
  2. Report said 4 weeks in a walking boot and should be ready to restart baseball activities and play in the AFL.
  3. If he has an insane AFL and spring he'd probably start in Charlotte but no chance he makes the opening day roster. Best case he forces his way up by July.
  4. Some interesting stuff here: Sox are 25th in xwOBA, they are 2nd in LA, they are 18th in barrel rate and 17th in hard hit rate. Last year the Sox were 19th in LA but ranked bottom 3 at best in the other three. The xwOBA still isn't where you want it but at least some underlying stats that will need to be there for any decent offense have moved from awful to mediocre.
  5. So that was year 5 already as a pro? Damn you're right I was thinking Covid year college mindset. It counted even tho the entire season was wiped for the minors. Man that's wild they also decided to add Jose Ramirez coming off a 770 OPS in AA at age 22 with a quite hollow slash line however, OBP below 300. If some team is silly enough to take those guys in the Rule 5 honestly you just eat it imo as it's pretty rare to have guys that raw taken in the rule 5 -- let alone actually amount to anything (or get sent back to you). Holy s%*# we actually drafted Nick Avila in the 2022 rule 5! I remember that BS now dude was unplayable in spring. My god Hahn was horrific at the margins. The two position players that went of note in that year's rule 5 were Noda and Sobal. Both are basically replacement level players at this point, if that. Protecting Ramos there and guaranteeing him a free ride for at least a year on a full 40 man salary could not have helped his motivation. I'm happy for Ramos as he's a good guy and he's made probably like 1 million total from JR to play a sport he loves, even if he never will pan out as a big leaguer.
  6. def didn't seem drunk, and I should know, I think he's just managed to maintain a heavy south central american accent going on 40 years despite living in Chee-ca-go.
  7. Yankees might be setting playoff rotation at that point and not really have anything to play for in regular season, we'll see.
  8. Quite remarkable. Trending towards that B- for Chris.
  9. 6-9 gets it done to avoid 100 losses. Nice.
  10. I set you up but you hit a HR, nicely done.
  11. I think Quero is the first latin dude I've seen with a flat top ever.
  12. WTF is going on? Nice effort there from the pen.
  13. Venable is the first Sox manager I've liked since early Guillen. Is he a tactical ace? Not really, but he can lead a clubhouse and that is the most important thing. Team could have folded but finishing strong is important with so many young guys getting regular playing time.
  14. not getting a great feeling here. seen a lot of pitches.
  15. Might as well let him come out, hasn't been hardly any stress on his 86 pitches.
  16. Smith finishing strong is quite encouraging. Keep it going.
  17. Colson had adjusted to the adjustments. Very nice indeed.
