  1. This is insane man. Our half of the inning must be 20% to 80% time wise.
  2. and right down the middle. cannon is cannon fodder. should never be up here.
  3. Good job by Cannon this inning of staying out of the heart of the zone while still being aggressive.
  4. lol, utter trash. Eloy can join Vaughn in getting off this team.
  5. Lopez is swing a lead bat, yikes. Absolutely no power.
  6. A couple of years ago I had a lot of fun visiting Twinkie Town when the Sox were looking good and the Twins were struggling. My how the turns have tabled.
  7. The way the Sox talked about him before I ever saw him play I figured he was like a poor man's Altuve, or maybe even homeless man's version. Well, he's not even a poor man's Leury. Among other things his sprint speed is pathetic for a guy that is supposed to be a potential middle infield utility guy. Not an athlete, not a baseball player, not anything at all really.
  8. "Pedro, if you don't come in on Friday, don't bother coming in on Monday either". "whoohoo, 4 day weekend!"
  9. It's wild how a 650 OPS is like a 90 wRC+ now and for a utility guy is probably above league average .
  10. Utility player that won't produce negative WAR if a starter goes down for a couple months. Before the ACL, that looked to be about what he was. It's no secret but Chicago hasn't been able to produce 1 WAR utility guys for decades. Other teams seem to do a bang up job but we either bring up black holes or we sign overpaid vets that can't even putup 1 WAR in any role.
  11. It's hard to prove but I think his true talent before the injury had jumped to around a 2 WAR player. I could totally be wrong and he's just a middling utility guy but we'll see. He's still young enough to where he could have a nice few years.
  12. that's def the best we can do at the moment, as pathetic as it is.
  13. I love Danny. A rare Sox development success story. If some clown ass in the outfield didn't take his ACL out he might have been a decent 2 WAR starter for us and not had to have grinded out rehab and then roster fringes the last two years. It looks like he has discovered that launch angle is important. Maybe he can open the eyes of some of our other guys.
  14. I'd suggest make a wish kid but who would want to lay that s%*# on them in addition to poor health?
  15. On beni I would just waive him and see if anybody bites. but not even ten year old OOTP AI is dumb enough to put a claim in with that much dead money left. The best we would be able to do is take on another bad contract. You just know JR doesn't want to hear that and Getz won't do it. I dunno, it's not like we're loaded with top OF prospects so you just gotta keep trotting him out there. With the Pham "addition" (funny how 40 man concerns don't exist when it is to sign bargain barrel 1 WAR vets) Vaughn is the obvious candidate to lose playing time imo. Send Vaughn to AAA and just let him try and have a "come to jesus" type swing adjustment and attitude refresh. Dude never is having fun out there, he needs to find something and it's not likely to happen at the MLB level right now. It's not like he'd take a pay cut so he might even welcome it.
  16. One thing I've hated about this stupid franchise ever since Ozzie left is wondering if the "who to play" s%*# is the manager or the FO. At the end of the day the manager keeps changing and I still keep asking the same questions. So, uh, can't get fooled again here. The FO wants it, the manager just does what they want for the most part. And that is play bad players, usually vets, even when younger options that are likely to be just as good at the moment and better in the long run -- exist.
