  1. Hey everyone, Does anyone have a HD copy of Buehrle's perfect game? Had it on my Tivo and the drive is flaking out and dying. I have a standard-def copy of Buehrle's No-Hitter and a copy of Tom Seaver's 300 game that I could trade. I was at the game with my mom and it would mean a lot to have a copy. Thanks, Darren
  2. I think you may see them move the fences back. We've tried the power team approach, was always near the top of the league in HRs and we never won it all. I say move the fences back, make it a more pitcher friendly park and move on.
  3. I'm amazed at the number of utter F'n cry-babies that troll this site. If this is the Sox fan base then I'm embarassed to call myself a Sox fan. Everybody is blaming Ozzie for the record in the 2nd half. What about the first half? He go from genius to idiot over the All Star break?? And don't give me the BS that their first half was an easier schedule. Even if that was the case, that's why they play the whole season, and here we are less than two weeks from the end with the BEST RECORD IN THE AL. If you didn't know how the recent past had gone and you showed up today to look at the standings you'd be saying Ozzie did a hell of a job with a team people were predicting to land in the cellar this year. To blame the collapse on Guillen is a joke. And don't tell me the Sox have been getting great support all year long, that is a complete load of bulls***. I've been to a ton of games, and even earlier in the year when they were winning 70% of the games I was at games where people sat on their hands the whole 9 innings, and I was at games where people booed them during those 30% of losses that were happening. If reading the crap you all throw around this board here is really indicative of how an average Sox fan feels then you don't deserve a team in the playoffs. You deserve a cellar dwelling team so you can be happy and freakin' complain about it all day long. Yeah, go ahead and fire Ozzie after he produces a team that wins over 90 games. Even if the Sox lose every game from here on out they'll have a better season record than all but 3 of the past 23 Sox teams the Sox have fielded since 1984. If they play .500 from here on out they'll have the best White Sox team record since the 1983 club. Sure, that is sure the sign of a manager that needs to be fired. I think you all need to change to Cubbie blue and get the hell out of the South Side. -Darren
  4. QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 09:46 AM) MMMMMMM......Kooooooool Aiiiiiiiiiiiiid.......... No Kool Aid drinkin' here bubba. The Sox are on one crappy looking skid, but the fact is their domination of the game early on still has them in a better position than anyone else in the AL. If they'd have lost a key player or something like in years past I could almost understand people wanting to throw themselves under a bus, but this is the same team that won all those games early. Baseball is a streaky game, they could win every game from here on out, that's why you play them all.
  5. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 09:42 AM) It's not the Indians that made us play under .500 ball after the break. Hmm, the last time I checked the season doesn't end at the All-Star break and a new one begin. It's the overall results that count. At this point the overall results are still better than anyone else in the league.
  6. You know what, the last time I looked the baseball season was 162 games, and at this point they haven't all been played yet. For all the idiots that are saying that "Ozzieball" doesn't work, then explain to me how the White Sox have the best record in the AL and the 2nd best record in the major leagues. Obviously what Ozzie has been doing this year HAS been working. Has it been a really rough stretch? Sure, there's no doubt about it. Is it all over? Not by a long shot. The real problem the Sox are having is that the Indians have gotten red hot. They've got the third best record in the majors. For everyone that says the American League Central isn't the toughest division in baseball I want you to explain how that's the case. The Indians would be leading the West or the East if they were in those divisions. But still, the Sox have a better record at this point, and it's still their ballgame to win or lose. Anyone that watches baseball knows teams go through slumps, it's just the nature of the beast. I mean think about it, if the Sox would have had this slump early on and closed a 15 game lead on the Indians we'd be singing their praises. Both the Sox and Indians could have the same records and the fans outlook would be totally different. Like I said, it's a 162 game season, and as Ozzie said all along every game is important. The Sox won a ton of games early on, and I believe the team can get it kicked back into gear heading into the post season. I think the problem is they're just not having fun anymore. We all know the pressure can get to a team, and it's time the Sox just forgot about the playoffs and ignored the 30,000 people that boo when they lose a game and just go out and have fun. It pisses me off to hear these fans boo a team that has the best record in the league. It shows just how freakin' ignorant they are. At the start of the season pretty much every baseball analyst had the Sox playing in the cellar with KC. The Sox are NOT in the cellar. They're the team with the best record in the league, and if their fans are going to boo them when they have that record than I don't think the Sox fans deserve a post season to watch in Chicago. These guys have given us a great season, and they still have the opportunity to give us a lot more. Go out to the park the next three days. Cheer, don't boo. Give them the mystical positive vibe that seems to be so important in the game of baseball. The Sox can win the division. They just need to get back to the basics. They're a running team, they need to run. I don't care if Pods gets thrown out 3 out of 4 times, I want to see him running when he's on base. The team that won all those games early on was aggressive, both on the bases and with their pitching. They've gotten away from that, but there's no reason they can't flip the switch and get it going again. There's not a position player that I'd really want to see replaced at this point. Carl Everett needs to step up and be the big game player he once was and give the offense a boost. The pitchers need to throw inside more often. Their game is pitching, defense and speed. If they get back to that now it can still be a fun ride through October. -Darren

  9. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 10:43 AM) Wed game is a day game so expect the subs again. I dunno, Thursday is an offday so I'd expect most of the regulars to start on Wednesday. -Darren
  10. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 10:33 AM) Welcome to Soxtalk! Thanks! I'm glad I found this place, it's good to know there are so many die-hard Sox fans out there! Of course I can see reading and posting here might take up a lot of my free time, but hey, it's baseball season again!! -Darren
  11. Zito has been lit up like a Christmas tree this season so far, giving up a grand slam in the 1st his last time out... One of my best friends lives in Oakland and I'll never hear the end of it if they continue their winning ways over the White Sox. I want someone to make Barry Zito cry tonight, c'mon boys!! -Darren
  12. Here is my blog, it's new so if you all have any ideas be sure to let me know! http://www.ozzieball.com This is sure looking like it's going to be a fun year!! It's my first real year back into baseball after a few years off. I am a Sox fan going back to 1977 and after a few years of not really following the team too closely they went and hired Ozzie to manage and I've been hooked ever since. Win or lose I knew Ozzie would bring fun baseball to the table and I'm sure not disappointed!! -Darren
