  1. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 06:30 PM) wow, this ump is pretty terrible Between that high strike called early in the game and those low strikes basically the ball would have to bounce or be head high to be a ball if it were consistently called.
  2. 2nd pitch to Rizzo looked low also. Flowers is in the Umps head.
  3. Fathom, there's 2 that the ump has called against the Cubs on key strikeouts out of the zone.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 06:15 PM) Here comes the squeeze. Ugh. Cubs thought the same thing.
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 06:15 PM) Is there a lefty warning up? If not, pinch hit Conor No lefty up, only a righty.
  6. I really don't like that we set ourselves up to have to burn a pinch hitter in an NL/no DH game for the 2nd spot in the lineup. There's the downside of putting Saladino 2nd rather than towards the bottom of the order. Gotta do it, but if we don't score this run that really knocks out a useful bench body.
  7. Adam Eaton is probably 100% thrilled to face a guy throwing mid 90s.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 06:11 PM) That will be overturned. Nope.
  9. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 06:08 PM) I know Conor is going to be announced and Madden will bring in a LHP I won't be mad to get Hendricks out of there. Just don't burn LaRoche like that.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 06:02 PM) If the pitchers hate Micah, I'd trade him out of the organization. If Micah is that bad a second baseman, he's not very good of a prospect. 2Bmen are a dime a dozen. Guys actually can get better at defense with practice. Micah was really, really rushed up to the big leagues this year, without really having time to work on either bat or glove at AAA or even really AA all that much. One of those classic white sox "rush the guy to the bigs without paying attention to whether his game is actually ready" moves. Hopefully with time he will actually have a shot at becoming a solid defender.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 06:00 PM) I know he's got two hits but shouldn't Micah be getting those at bats? Micah is still at Charlotte. You can make a decent case that Micah is probably close to ready right now, but I would still expect him to struggle some when he comes up. The other thing that seems important is that a couple weeks ago someone suggested that the pitching staff had gotten tired with Micah's defense at 2b and specifically started asking for Sanchez - that's probably bought him more time there. One thing we're definitely going to do is "keep this pitching staff happy at all costs". Otherwise Quintana might lose it and start snapping people's necks.
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 05:57 PM) That he has performed well this year despite control issues you have to hope bodes well. Otherwise it was just a prelude to disaster. His stuff is so good, can't wait to see it develop. Reminds me of Scherzer a bit. If he didn't have that blister he'd probably have a couple fewer walks, that was clearly starting to bother him.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 05:51 PM) Great job battling by Rodon! Take off 10 days and heal that blister. Good point, this is a well timed break.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 05:50 PM) Why start this game at 3 p.m.? Now the shadows are coming in which means the Sox bad offense will be even worse the rest of the game. Because Cubs.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 05:42 PM) Happening all year for the Cubs, it's insane. Well there's a bad one.
  16. Didn't give him the strike, called ball 4 a strike instead.
  17. I hope they have someone up in the pen with the way that blister is looking.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 05:33 PM) Which they won't do for a rental. Rumor is they want someone they can control for a few years to slot into 3/4 spot. Quintana for Bryant....
