  1. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 07:43 PM) AP says f*** you Bears fans! AP says nice career Lovie.
  2. QUOTE (daa84 @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 07:38 PM) Um did the packers not get the memo that Christian ponder is horrendous I could have completed that 3rd down pass.
  3. Wow that was an epic fail by the Packers secondary.
  4. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 07:32 PM) He threw something similar to Jeffrey two weeks ago. Plus I'd think Cutler has more balls to squeeze passes in...they usually just end up being the wrong passes to make. Ok, maybe he'd have thrown that, but it'd have leaned into the defender and not away from him.
  5. QUOTE (daa84 @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 07:28 PM) Comparatively to the rest of the sport, I'm not convinced That's not a slight at Rodgers. Rodgers is trying to throw it straight. Maddux...wasn't.
  6. QUOTE (daa84 @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 07:25 PM) I used to think the biggest difference between GB and the bears was the qb, but its the HC now IMO I get what you're saying...but even if Lovie Smith did exactly what McCarthy did there, Cutler wouldn't have the cojones to throw that pass.
  7. QUOTE (daa84 @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 07:27 PM) Better command Rodgers or maddux? No one who watched baseball from 1991-1999 would ask that question.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 07:18 PM) The Packers will score here. Correct.
  9. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 07:21 PM) Well, they better go for it Ballsy and I love it. The Vikings didn't expect the quick snap at all, no where close to ready, an easy first down.
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 07:20 PM) Green Bay is imploding. Take that.
  11. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 07:20 PM) This has literally come up every week. Yes the rule is beyond dumb but any coach that still throws the challenge flag at that point is just an idiot. I have no problem with a 15 yard penalty if you're stupid enough to throw a flag on a play already being reviewed. In fact I encourage that. It shouldn't prevent the review though. It should just penalize the coach for being an idiot.
  12. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 07:19 PM) 10-6 seems playoff worthy, I've gotta say. 10-6 misses the playoffs lots of times when you lose against the teams in your division.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 06:46 PM) How was McCarthy throwing the flag on that any different than Schwartz? Pereria just explained it. He'll still get 15 yards.
  14. Peyton Manning comes off of multiple neck surgeries, misses a full season, signs as a free agent with the Broncos, sets the Broncos team record for throwing yards (hi Elway), and puts his team in the # 1 seed without a loss in the 2nd half of the season.
  15. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 06:02 PM) Starting the season with Viciedo platooned would be terrible. I get why you'd do it...but it seems like a "we think the division is weak and winning 1 game can make the difference" kind of move. With everything the Tigers have added this year...I'd rather see what he can do and if we can turn him into a great overall hitter. I'd rather ad a LH hitting backup catcher, somehow. But I'll be the first to admit, I have no idea who that could be.
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 06:00 PM) See, I don't buy the argument that using Hester as a wideout made him suck as a returner. It isn't like he was on the field a ton. If he couldn't play in 15 plays a game plus special teams, that is downright pathetic. I agree Bears got a lot out of Hester but I also believe the Bears blocking unit doesn't get near the credit it should. THey were a probowl return unit before Hester and I expect them to be again after Hester. Fact is Toub works. Hester hasn't been explosive in a few years (that includes 2 years ago when he got hot again). Those returns were much more system returns then Hester being special. Early in his career Hester was amazing (truly electric cuts, etc). Not sure what happened but I haven't seen that explosiveness in 3-4 years. I think the problem with him being on the field as a WR is it made him get hurt a few times. With as fast as he was when he came in, a tweak of an ankle or a hamstring was the difference between an 80 yard return and a 15 yard return. So yeah, I buy that the WR thing was a problem. But maybe more so, insisting that he was a WR was a problem because it kept them from filling their WR corps out with...actual WR's who could have helped the team.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 05:27 PM) Hester ruined his value on kick-offs. Anyone with two eyes can see he's slow as s*** out there. No burst at all. He hasn't been special in years. The last few returns he had were due to blocking. Been a long time since he broke off a big run because of his ability. Guy is one of the most overrated players of all time. The Bears got more out of Hester than they could have imagined. Yes he'll be gone this year, yes the coaching staff has screwed up with him royally by trying to make him a WR, but he's still been an incredible show. If there's one thing I'm disappointed in, it's that he didn't break the record with the Bears. He'll sign with someone else next year, be motivated again, be return-focused, and get a TD or two.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 05:55 PM) Problem is Packers D is playing very undisciplined. Have to hope the Vikings turn the ball over a couple times in the 2nd half. The Packers will get a stop or two. I have no doubt about that. They may not stop them every drive, but they'll get a stop or two. Their offense is where the difference will be. If the Vikings hold them to 13 in the 2nd half, they win. If the Vikings give up 21, they're in trouble.
  19. QUOTE (Reddy @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 05:50 PM) hahaha this is so true. I have a number of them whose ridiculous Libertarian freedom memes pollute my news feed. It's actually been fun watching the couple of legit libertarians I knew in college become: a couple tea-partiers, a hippy, and a democrat-leaning policy wonk who keeps trying to tell himself he's not a democrat.
  20. Mason Crosby probably just got himself a job for next year.
  21. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 05:45 PM) Well this is what happens when you don't control your fate, it rests in the hands of others. Bears have only themselves to blame. Luckily, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense still can still put up points. Aaron Rodgers will not be held to
  22. WTF was that McCarthy? You send your offense out on 4th and 11 and call TO before your QB can even attempt to draw anyone offsides?
  23. So, Green Bay will win this challenge but it's not a good challenge. At best he gets 5 yards. Doesn't gain downs, etc, and it's only the first 5 minutes. Low risk, but very low reward. This is like challenging a called strike 3 on an 0-2 count.
