  1. QUOTE (kapzk @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 08:46 PM) Hahahaha well I think trading Floyd away saves money which can be used to somehow extend Danks. Otherwise I am not quite sure how bad of an idea this is, would like to hear ur thoughts. I think it's pretty clear at this point that extending D1 is impossible, unless we want to pay him into the $100 million range. Once you realize that, it forces some of your decisions. Peavy, Sale, Humber, and Floyd are the starting points, then you have Stewart now as an option and Buehrle if you have the money to bring him back, and any P you get back by trading Danks or Quentin.
  2. Nice DP on 3 parts, including Dunn.
  3. Really trying hard to get Young to swing at something low and on the outside corner.
  4. QUOTE (kapzk @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 08:40 PM) Which is why he would be the perfect replacement for Gavin Floyd. I hope our rotation going forward looks like Buerhle, Peavy, Danks, Stewart, Sale, Humber. Maybe they go with the 6 man next year as well. Buerhle and Danks are question marks ofcourse. But assuming they stay atleast somebody has to go, which is why I think they are gonna keep burying Sale in the bullpen, which is waste. I pretty much think everything said in this post is a bad idea.
  5. Why would you play the IF back here with runners only on 2 and 3?
  6. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 08:31 PM) Well not bad so far. I am sure a cutter is in his future. I know that's the org's M.O., but I'm not sure that'll happen with him. The 2 seamer is his big weapon, a cutter sort of takes away from that with some people
  7. Man, for 94 mph, that pitch broke hard
  8. 94 MPH hard down and in on Mauer.
  9. NIZE PITCH ZACH!
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 08:28 PM) Stone said earlier that throwing lefties at the Twins takes away Mauer's power. I don't think he has much power anyway. He clearly has the build for it, but I wonder if the legs aren't under him enough. He earned that MVP season with the power.
  11. Of course, kid gets in trouble and Mauer is up. You think that's just part of the gameplan?
  12. Konerko looks terrible the whole game, the whole at bat, then someoen tells him that there's an RISP and bang.
  13. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 08:14 PM) I really do not care for Morel. Shouldn't have listened to his coach.
  14. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 08:15 PM) He didn't even look towards right. The halt was entirely after he'd turned to face 3b, it'd have been very weird for him to get to 2b and then stop without looking at something.
  15. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 08:13 PM) Okay Hawk, it looked like Morel picked up his third base coach and put the brakes on. i thought that too
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 08:12 PM) Morel with his 4th walk of the season in almost 250 at-bats. 2 hits for Pierre, Ramirez and Rios now. Morel didn't get to 3rd, however. That's TOO MUCH respect for Cuddyer's arm. Cuddyer's at 2b, Kubel's in RF. Costs us a run.
  17. BRENT MOREL WALKS!!!
  18. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 08:05 PM) He knows he has to throw a shutout. He probably also knows he's at 598.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 08:04 PM) Looks like Stewart essentially has two sliders. 77-79 MPH version, and 85-86. The first one is more like a curveball in terms of velocity, but not as big a break obviously. Dude, the 79 mph one is a changeup. This is the third time I've said that to you.
  20. Stewart genuinely seemed a little nervous around Thome there. I wouldn't blame him.
  21. 8 ground ball outs by Stewart through 11 outs.
  22. 26 strikes, 8 balls for Stewart so far.
  23. Since the AS break, Pavano's ERA before this game was 9.41. Batters had hit .359/.950 off of him. I guess he was due for a good start and you just gotta tip your cap.
  24. QUOTE (South Paw @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 07:53 PM) how does stewart look so far? Solid. Good sinking, working well/quickly, only one or two hitters have gotten him squarely, pitches aren't straight. Nothing that you've looked at and said "That pitch was mind blowing" but effective.
