  1. He got the DP ball there too.
  2. There goes the DP setup. May as well walk Callaspo.
  3. I think I could have gotten the bat on that changeup.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) Gavin seems to have lost command of his offspeed stuff, as he's overthrowing it now. Need a DP! I think it's the pitching from the stretch hurting him right now.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2010 -> 02:54 PM) I'll take Michael Jordan for that award. I'll take Tiger Woods.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2010 -> 02:53 PM) Should he have caught it? If he'd played it correctly from the start, yeah. He got turned around the wrong way, the wind started taking the ball away from him, then he fell flat on his face as he hit the warning track.
  7. Was it worse than the play Milledge just made on Soriano?
  8. Now I wish I'd seen it.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2010 -> 02:49 PM) Not about PEDs. His ex-wife has basically said in court documents that he takes all sorts of drugs and isn't stable. Was this any time recently? I'd be surprised if he had been doing any sort of stimulant regularly and hadn't had the 2nd public positive test right now. I think they've probably got that cleaned up pretty well, since there's not a cottage industry of people designing amphetamines to get around drug tests.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2010 -> 02:48 PM) Jason Kendall is going to have to pass drug tests before he can be a MLB manager. Seriously, you're doing that to Kendall too?
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 16, 2010 -> 02:46 PM) Hawk sucking the Big Hurt off? Really, you have a problem with how much praise he's put on Frank? He's been flat out right.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2010 -> 02:42 PM) Is Jayson Nix our only hitter to swing at a 3-0 pitch all season? I think a couple others have over the past week.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2010 -> 02:39 PM) Excellent, I was out all night, and when I heard he pitched into the 9th, I was stunned. If he was pitching with a team that had any confidence in its closer, he'd have pitched 8.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2010 -> 02:37 PM) Did he have the good slider going? Again, aside from the 1st inning, yeah.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2010 -> 02:36 PM) Maybe it's me, but Matt Kemp seems terrible defensively. You are correct. He belongs as a corner OF already.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2010 -> 02:34 PM) So is Thornton ok? Also, what was Peavy's fastball like yesterday? Peavy's fastball got a little wild in the first and it cost him. I'm not sure I trust the KC gun but it had him 94 through the whole game. They say Thornton is OK. As I said in my writeup, saying "Thornton's elbow is OK" is like telling me "The problem at the nuclear plant is under control". Yeah, you may be trying to reassure me, but I don't want to be talking about it in the first place.
  17. That poll question is Guttierez and it's not even really close.
  18. I flipped the channel during the commercial break and just got the joy of watching Aramis Ramirez with a complete "Ole!" bullfighting style move letting a ball float past him. I enjoyed that.
  19. That was close to being an incredible DP. Nice save by Konerko.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 16, 2010 -> 02:30 PM) At least they are hitting the ball today. This is a win. Its a lock. Sadly, I'm going to be scared about G on the road every game until he has a few good ones in a row. As I type that, Butler nailed that ball.
  21. 2 consecutive outs on the basepaths. We just ran ourselves completely out of that inning.
  22. Pinella with a decent public rant. Not a spectacular one, but decent.
  23. Andre Eithier is leading MLB with a .392 average and 38 RBI and is at the top of the NL with 11 HR. He broke his pinky finger in batting practice. Not sure yet if it's a DL trip or not.
  24. Frank was really thrilled about joining in on the HR call. I liked that.
