  1. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 06:14 PM) Why is Freddy still in there?? He started this inning with 89 pitches thrown. I'd have taken him out, but at least it's not an insane number yet.
  2. USC takes a 17-13 lead (assuming they make the extra point)
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 06:12 PM) Iguchi has a very quiet 12 game hitting streak. Jimmy Rollins has a 29 game hit streak now. That 4-4 wasn't very quiet today.
  4. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 06:11 PM) I guess you are right there, but I still think that Konerko is a better value :| Depends on what he's offered at the end of the year. If Anaheim offers him $15 million a year for 5 years, is he a good value then?
  5. Everett now makes it so that all 9 of our starters have a hit. Took you long enough Carl.
  6. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 06:08 PM) I like the green more, because there are some people who actually do think that Gload is better than Konerko.. It all depends on how you take the salaries into account...
  7. Nice game Freddy, hit the showers and let the bullpen finish this one off for ya.
  8. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 06:00 PM) If we cant hold on to this lead................ SHUT YOUR MOUTH...DON'T JINX IT DAMMIT!!!
  9. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 05:58 PM) Can we give the Starters the rest of the night off so we don't need the b team tomorrow? Ozzie's said he won't be playing the B Team until we clinch...of course he rested Pods and Widger against Santana after saying that.. God I hope he doesn't do the all righty lineup tomorrow against Liriano.
  10. Just saw a very nice MLB Division Series ad...highlights from last year, Cherub Rock playing in the background.
  11. QUOTE(iguchi=dank @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) thanks abc, i can watch hurricane coverage on 7 different channels, not like i wanna see the biggest possible upset of the year.. sure.. SC's just getting their offense in gear the last few drives of the half...they'll get em. Last time USC and Oregon played, Oregon took an early lead, then Palmer led USC to 30 unanswered points.
  12. I'm this close to having actual publishable data on a project I've been working on for a year and a half.
  13. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 05:47 PM) Out of nowhere, to close that topic, Hawk says, "Definitely not like it was at Fox." That was absolutely beautiful.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 05:38 PM) Anderson should get the start tomorrow. I'm very surprised Ozzie played him tonight, even though Everett owns Mays. Ozzie doesn't strike me as the type to take that s*** lightly. Someone does definately need to send a message to Carl that he can't be bigger than the team. It should be Ozzie.
  15. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 05:37 PM) Carl needs to disappear for a few games His bat disappeared about 70 at bats ago.
  16. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 05:33 PM) How about if we enter on a 2 game winning streak, and extend it to 13!! 3 game streak...we need to enter on a 3 game streak.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) But..but..but...if the Sox go .500 the rest of the way But if the Sox enter the playoffs on a 10 game winning streak...
  18. Belliard flies out to left on a play that Long was trying desperately to screw up.
  19. Injuns have the bases loaded, 2 outs in the 5th. Belliard up.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 05:27 PM) No offense, but lets just root for both of them to lose their next 5 games, and worry about who wins the AL East after the last series. There's nothing good about Boston winning in regards to the White Sox. This post reminded me of one of the posts a few months ago about wanting to lose some games so we were tested at the end of the year or being worried about the A's, etc. Once we get a playoff spot guaranteed...then it's ok to root for or against people for strategeric reasons. Until then...well, we've seen what can happen when you look too far ahead already this year.
  21. I'll keep saying this...the best thing we can hope for from the AL East is for Boston and NY to finish the season tied...that way neither of their pitching staffs get any rest at all at the end of the year. We at least would get a day or two off.
