  1. There is literally no debate - I want any other player - major or minor league - who is capable of playing left field next year and taking pitches. Podsednik is worse than any other major leaguers and a good deal of minor leaguers playing his position, taking pitches, and being a baseball player in general. Why do people thinki that anyone except for Roberts, Figgins, Crawford and a couple of others would be unacceptable. s***, give me ANYONE. ANYONE but Podsednik. I'd take a one-legged Frank Thomas in the one-hole and take my chances in the field. Who is with me? ANYONE BUT PODSEDNIK.
  2. What was the quote from the beginning of the year? "Brian could hit .230 and it wouldn't matter as long as he plays defense" or something along those lines? When the f*** did those expectations change? Somehow I don't think BA's hitting is at the top or even near the top of the list of the reasons why this team missed the postseason. The team underperformed because of inconsistent pitching, both starting and relief. If Anderson was liked in the clubhouse, this would've all been written off by Ozzie and Kenny as "rookie year" and "not the reason the team missed the playoffs". There's clearly a rift, and it's clearly personal not professional. Everyone knew that when Ozzie said in late August that Anderson wasn't doing anything offensively (he was on fire at the time).
  3. QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 11:58 PM) we can't keep holding them, we just can't
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 11:50 PM) Please refer back to my post about Rivera in DP situations. I can definitely vouch for this
  5. So it looks like everyone is off to bed then I'll tell you guys how it turned out when you wake up tomorrow
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 11:18 PM) Ummm...it's probably the best time to do it. Against KRod, you're not going to put together a 3 hit inning. If you can swing at a likely fastball in that situation, let it rip. I'm belong to the walk-SB school of thought
  7. christ hawk, this is one situation where you DON'T turn him loose....yes!
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 11:12 PM) Ozzie sucks, he got lucky, and Pods cost us this game. no chance we win, huh
  9. so do file this one under "Ozzie sucks and we should have lost this game in the 8th" or "Ozzie sucks and he got lucky"
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 11:09 PM) No I don't necessarily myself, I was just thinking out loud.
  11. Why wasn't Anderson in to play LF and CF? He would have had that ball from both positions. Simultaneously.
  12. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 11:00 PM) Your funny. his funny what?
  13. QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 10:56 PM) This sucks, Podsednik had a semi-decent game today so far with a walk and a hit, that means there is no way he will be benched for at least a weak. Are there reporters in the postgame interviews asking direct questions about this guy? How is someone not riding Ozzie about this every night?
  14. We could not have asked for much better from Buehrle tonight; the homer ball was a golf shot and the the other RBI was on a duck snort I'll take 3 ER in 7 IP at anaheim.
  15. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 10:46 PM) What if it rained. What of donuts.
  16. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 10:43 PM) Regardless, Buerhle has been brutal the second half. Just average, and the Sox might be leading the Central. Cherry picking 101 is now in session what if Garland had been just average in the second half
