  1. The Club is going to be pretty epic with the way our season is shaping up. MLB Network couldn't have picked a better team and season for this show to be about.
  2. QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 10, 2010 -> 01:50 AM) http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/os-n...,0,143821.story Stan Van Gundy likes that the Orlando Magic have the right to match any offer sheet restricted free agent SG J.J. Redick could sign with another team. Because Redick has played four consecutive seasons with the Magic, he's considered a "Bird" free agent, meaning the Magic can pay him up to a maximum salary even though they are well above the NBA salary cap. Right now, the Magic seem inclined to bring back Redick even though it would plunge them further into the luxury tax. "I'm not worried about what J.J. might get from somebody," Van Gundy said Wednesday between games of the AirTran Airways Pro Summer League at RDV Sportsplex. "That would simply leave us with a decision, but the ball rests in our court. We'll just have to make the decision when the time comes. Our intention is — and I know that from talking to [General Manager] Otis [smith] — our intention is to match. "Now, if he gets a max offer — $17 million a year — I don't know," Van Gundy added, a smile on his face. "If somebody gives him, you know, $1.8 million, he won't take it. So, somewhere in-between there is the number. But we go in with the intention that we're going to match." Last summer, the Magic surprised many people when they matched the Dallas Mavericks' five-year, $34 million offer sheet to backup C Marcin Gortat. "We valued Marsh," Van Gundy said. "We value J.J. And we know we get the final say." This gives me hope that we won't sign Redick and we'll be forced to be pursue a legit 2. Come on Richardson!
  3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 10, 2010 -> 12:41 AM) I'll end my life if we sign Redick. Can somebody give me a non-violent/painful suicide option? You could do the whole lock yourself in the garage with the car running thing. Kinda like putting a dog to sleep.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) I believe the whole thing last night was actually Jim Gray's idea. I still say shame on LeBron and ESPN for doing it though. I also find it fitting that the show was aired live from the same city that Vince McMahon's giant mansion is in, because the NBA and wrestling have an awful lot in common. No s***. It was like a badly written PPV segment in which LeBron turned heel. Except LBJ isn't going to get the "I love to hate this guy" heel heat. He is going to get the "I want this guy to f***ing die" variety of heel heat -- especially from Cavs fans.
  5. I've been reading articles and reactions to what happened last night and realized something. LeBron will be hated in Cleveland FOR ETERNITY. I was in Cleveland a couple years ago to see the Sox play. At one point, I was in a cab getting a ride back to my hotel. The cabbie was chatting me up until he realized that I was a Chicagoan and Sox fan. The guy immediately brought up Thome and began ranting about what a sack of s*** he thought he was. I swear the guy was spitting bile. I could understand being upset about someone bailing on your favorite team, but it was years in the past. PLUS IT'S JIM THOME. He's pretty much the nicest man on the planet (I can confirm this because I ran into Thome on this same trip). It was LeBron's idea to teabag Cleveland on national TV. LBJ better hire some protection for his games in Cleveland next year.
  6. To all the people freaking out in the thread: Yea, this situation f***ing sucks, but the NBA isn't 3 on 3 basketball. You need quality depth to win. Miami's big three is gonna play a ton of minutes next year because their bench is going to suck balls. People are completely ignoring the fact that Rose and Noah will continue to get better too. Add in the fact that we will have a defensive guru as the head coach and things are looking pretty bright.
  7. Thought this was funny. Richardson clowning our newest Bull.
  8. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 01:55 AM) It's a lot different during a season than in the off season where a lot of teams have a lot of money. With the cap set at 58.04, the Bulls have somewhere between 18 and 19 million to play with. I thought the Suns were cutting back big time though. Isn't that the reason that Steve Kerr left as GM? I read that they wanted to extend him - but at a significantly discounted salary. He said, "No, thanks." and went back to broadcasting.
  9. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 01:48 AM) Bulls definitely have some room to be a contender still, they should be sending out feelers on how Carmelo's future looks because if he comes than our team is every bit as talented as the Heat. Id definitely be down for JRich too as Phoenix cant have much hope and a cheap owner that would prob be willing to unload contracts. Phoenix tried to trade him last year due to the money he makes.
  10. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 01:49 AM) He hit like 48% of his 3's last year. But if you're going to talk about people who do nothing but jack up shots........ You have to admit that the Bulls are severely lacking in quality long range shooters. Morrow might be affordable. Who knows?
  11. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 01:48 AM) I actually like the idea of Jason Richardson, and I'd embrace it. 1 year left and relatively affordable especially with the cap room we have. Good outside shooter, athletic, adequate defensively. And it still leaves you with some money to add Asik and maybe another backup guard. How will bringing over Asik work? I know we own his rights, but how exactly would his contract be set up?
  12. Ever since fathom mentioned Morrow, I've been intrigued by him. He seems like he would be a good fit with Rose. Rose penetrates, kicks it out to Morrow for a three.
  13. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 01:44 AM) Richardson is as close as it gets. Decent offensively, adequate defensively. Also a willing passer and is a much more consistant 3 point shooter. AND SLAM DUNKZZZ!!!1one
  14. Okay, so it looks like JRich has one year left on his deal at $14.4 million. Trading for him, unless we are unloading Deng in the process would severely limit our flexibility this off season. Damn, SoxFan1 beat me to it.
  15. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 01:33 AM) Also, of SG's possibly available for trade, Jason Richardson or Michael Redd make the most sense. Redd also has 1 yr left at 18.3 million or so. Also, I don't see Shaq going to Miami. I would love to see some highlight reel DRose-Richardson alley-oops this coming season. I've been trying to find contract info on JRich, but haven't found anything so far.
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 01:34 AM) Mike Miller is the sniper they need. And all they really need from Shaq is solid defense and rebounding for about 20 minutes a night. While he might provide some rebounds and clog the lane on defense, he will be damn near useless on the offensive end. Dude is washed up.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 01:27 AM) Well Shaq is a lock to join and it looks like they're gonna sign Mike Miller. At this point, it's safe to assume Miami's got all their I's dotted and T's crossed. J4L, do Mike Miller, an old fatass Shaq and 7 minimum salary guys scare you?
  18. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 01:24 AM) Noah is my favorite player in the NBA and I hope he wipes the floor with whatever center Miami runs out there. I f***ing love the guy. After all this s***, I have chosen to be optimistic about the Bulls. There is nothing to keep Noah and Rose from developing and getting even better. If we can pull a deal for another legit piece like Iguodala, we will be very good.
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 01:11 AM) I can respect all the Bulls enthusiasm. But I just can't get excited knowing that ultimately there's a team in our conference that will be as close to unbeatable as any team in the modern era. They won't be unbeatable. At least for this year, I have hope. Come playoff time, Bosh, Wade and James will have a s***load of wear on them because of the heavy minutes they will have to play during the regular season. Their roster is going to be pretty sucky outside of them. By the way, I love Noah's reaction to the news of LBJ going to Miami. Joakim is the antithesis of LeBron -- he digs in with his guys and f***ing battles. I love that.
  20. I am so f***ing tired of hearing these assholes throw around the term "sacrifice". They are all still getting near 100 million dollar contracts. f*** these colluding b****es.
  21. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 01:57 AM) No offense, but this is why Chicago fans are considered meatballs, that post is so unbelievably nonobjective it's hilarious. Stop acting like his other choices are chopped liver, seriously, and those f***ing SendLebrontoChicago twitters, jesus christ I want to stab my eyes out when I read them. It's not about being a Chicago fan. If you flipped say the Knicks roster and payroll with ours, I would be arguing that NYC would be the correct destination for him because it's the best situation to win while being "the man" and have all the side benefits too. If the Bulls only had Amar'e and Gallinari, I would be saying that he would be an idiot to come here with better choices available to him. I never said the other choices were chopped liver. It's pretty clear that each place has its benefits and disadvantages. You and Heads can commence eye-stabbing.
  22. LBJ is an idiot if he doesn't pick the Bulls. It is the ideal combination of great roster, amazing fanbase, fantastic city, and excellent marketing opportunities. ...I think he picks Cleveland.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 01:08 AM) Broussard seemed to have quotes from someone in the James camp about why he decided not to return to Cleveland. Did he actually disclose any of the quotes?
  24. It is such horses***. Like I said earlier in the thread, no accountability at all -- totally pathetic. Journalistic integrity took it in the pooper and got tossed out on the street.
