  1. haha that sounds badass chisoxfn. I'll try to tune in, if not I'll just IM you and we can chat hahaha
  2. haha ok ok enough of the f***ing f*** jokes you lazy mothaf***as. hahaha I dunno about the color contrast, we're gonna copy every other field in the majors? How would a green monster look with a pool in center and a retractable roof?? -Jim
  3. hey I agree with clujer. I think Frank has proved how he can be the most dominant hitter in the majors, even in 2000. Maggs has shown he is a good hitter, but Frank has proved he's a great one. Maggs hasn't even started in the all-star game, and Frank has 2 MVP's?? (should be 3) I don't see how you can say its definately either, but both should have good seasons, and I'll remember to bring this up later
  4. haha I think we can all agree they are trying to unattract the remaining Sox fans they have left in this town. haha They'll have to do a lot better than changing the name, getting an ugly park, and making it easier for Cub fans to make fun of us to shoo me away Semper Fi!
  5. OK well this poll means best overall hitter, not best hitter right this second, best statistically, or best in the future. allow me to rephrase my question. if you could have one of these two men RIGHT NOW to hit in your lineup, who would it be? Jesus Christ can ya find people to disect a friendly question? hahaha
  6. yeah Jerry said that the starting job is Olivo's. I think we'll see him starting most of the days, FORTUNEATELY. I can't see how having a little bit of a change in scenery is bad. I mean even for teams who have done their homework, wouldn't a fast catcher be a little unexpected?? when we play out-of-division teams, would they really keep an eye on him? Also, when Sandy is playing, couldn't we use Olivo as a pinch-runner? Just a thought... I don't think we'll see much of Paul, even though he hit like .350 last year
  7. Has anybodyheard anything from mini-Durham lately? I'm surprised we haven't invited him to spring training. Did he hitch a ride to Oakland or something??
  8. ALLELUJAH! AMEN! PRAISE THE LORD! I have silently agreed with you for a year, 420! I love Willie's Speed, and he plays a great field, reminds me of Ray Durham a little. I also think he has great range in the position, and I don't think Dang is that exciting of a player. I dunno I'll admit besides WS games from last year, I haven't seen a lot of him, but Willie just grabs me more.
  9. well I think Koch was obviously worth the money. He showed what he could do in Oakland, and Foulke fell out of favor with Jerry, so I think it was a pretty even trade. And of course you can never have enough pitching... right??
  10. I think when your comments are written down by every reporter in town, it's hard for you to keep saying everything intelligently. haha just look at my signature.
  11. I never knew there was any doubt Frank would be hitting 3rd I thought it was implied from the start who our 3,4,5 guys would be. I think he'll be 3rd for awhile, but will probably move back later in his carreer.
  12. I think Frank is gonna stick around for awhile. dont remember who, but somebody said he'd be goin to LA? An NL team? I hardly see it happening. of course I'll never say never... again... but unless he's used as a pinch-hitter in 5+ years, I can't see him playing 1b every day. or even once a week. As far as stats go, I think he'll have about a .320/35/130 year. It would help if we got a clear leadoff man for him to knock in. does anybody know if D'Angelo Jimenez is fast? I mean I know he's not slow, but is he willie harris speed?
  13. has this all of a sudden turned into a NL post-board? cause if it has..........
  14. "PUFFINESS IN HIS LEG"?!?! ok wow I'm sorry but there is no way they can compare what happened to us in 2001 with some puffiness in a leg. wow those minny's make me mad. I hope they all are blessed with perfect health, cause it'll mak it all the sweeter when we sweep them this year (19-0? somethin like that...) Anyhoo i doesn't matter they'll find excuses for anything in how badly we rape them this year. THIS JUST IN our backup batboy is injured, time for me to go return my WS tickets. PEACE -Jim
  15. wow this is creepy. Maybe he's dominican?? It's like he was sent here all of a sudden from a distant planet... CAN ANYONE RUN A BACKROUND CHECK?!?! hahaha sorry bud I tried
  16. That's my boy! Looks like the Frank we've come to know and love is for real. A lot of people were saying that the only thing keeping him from having a great year is the tension between him and mr. molasses, PK. I think with Frank showing that he wants to work harder (either that or try out for pitcher or catcher) there's nothing that anybody can say negatively about him. So all of you people that doubted Frank anytime the past 10 or so years, you should have learned. This should also be shined upon by Hall o Fame voters. Unlike a certain monkey in RF on the north side that hardly shows up to ST at all. anyways I'm bored as hell I'll talk to y'all later. -Jim
  17. I sure hope you guys are right. I am a HUGE Frank Thomas fan, and I believe he is the greatest player in Sox history. I almost had a heart attack when I learned he was goin to be left out of the "Comiskey" 2003 All-star campaign. He's in it now, right?? Anyways he's a great guy and a great player, and I think barring complete armageddon, he'll be a leader in the team on an off the field (or at least the plate). Happy Valentines day everyone! -Jim

    Olivo

oh I see how it is hotsoxchick, moved on already... sniff sniff I think Olivo is a good prospect, but I haven't seen enough of him. A CATCHER WITH SPEED?!?! I'll believe it when I see it anyways my favorite prospect is Joe Valentine, OH WAIT hahaha. I'll catch y'all later -Jim
  19. well you broke my heart, just like every other girl on the planet. Everybody gets a swing. anywho, no hard feelings. :fyou hey who put that there??? Haha just kiddin love ya all. I would like to add that although PK is not the heaviest or least athletic player on the team, he is most definately the slowest. That probably includes pitchers. I think he needs to work out with a speed coach. I think he may be one of the 10 slowest players in the MLB. anyways see y'all later, peace -Jim
  20. I don't feel I'm biased at all here, ahem... but Frank has been getting harsh treatment his whole carreer and Frank if your reading this I love you and its only cause we care but I just think that the guy is not a talker, and doesn't need to be. He goes out and works his ass off and it obviously shows by his 2 MVP awards. Unless he sold em like O.J. Simpson. anyways I love Frank he's my hero and a really nice guy if you attend Sox Photo Fest. Ahem Ahem Kenny Lofton who wont even put his damn arm around you. ANYWAYS I'm getting ahead of myself. ummm hotsoxchick1, will you marry me? or at least be my valentine I love you. HAHAHA. I'm so desperately lonely... anyways enough of my rambling I love you all and at this pace I'll be a hall-of-fame poster by week's end Gotta go its past my bedtime hahaha peace -Jim
  21. last week I was in the computer lab of my skool and saw some kid lookin at the site. I was sick of whitesox.com's drabble of what Sandy Alomar and Nardi Contreras (God rest his soul) do on their days off, so here I am. I posted my first message like an hour ago, and y'all been so nice I decided to stay. I think I got my avatar and quote to work. Well here it goes. GO SOX!
  22. I say Rauch will be 5th starter on opening day. The kid didn't do AWFUL last year, and for him being a player of the year in the minors I think its time for him to start paying off. I don't see Kenny Williams goin out to sign any more FA with the solid 1-2 of Buehrle and Colon, and the constant improving of Garland (cy young cough cough) and Wright. I think we can handle having Rauch start every other 5 games. Also, the bullpen will be able to eat up innings since Colon is a workhouse. (though so was ritchie, let us never speak his name again) Well thanks for everybody bein so nice n welcoming me! I'm only 16, my birthday was last sunday, haha anyways thanks everyone for a place I can talk to REAL Sox fans and not wrigley field fans or 3rd generation (is robin ventura still playing?) fans. Thanks again! Much love.
  23. hey guys, my first post on this message board! anyways, to the post (ahem) Do you guys think Frank will be good this year? I have always been a Frank Thomas fan, and believe he will not post MVP numbers, but something along the lines of .310/30/110. haha am I asking too much? Also I believe after he retires, he'll be elected into the hall of fame. For being the greatest offensive threat of the 90's, I don't think being a DH will hurt. Well? how'd I do? haha how do you guys get the icons and quotes on your posts? oh well, if you dont agree with me I'll accept your criticisms :fyou well post back or whatever
