  1. So I'm led to believe you think Bartolo and Freddy will play from here on out with no problems and revert? Hell, could happen, but it's quite unlikely. It simply doesn't pay to rely on such players and not have backup plans or better options. That said, Bartolo was a nice pick-up at that price. You get my point, though.
  2. Quite frankly I think I have the right to b**** when the team I'm a fan of constantly is in tatters every hyear because management never seems to fill the holes. Sorry.
  3. No, but I don't see how that makes me any less correct, LOL.
  4. The idea of a rotation possibly with Garcia AND Colon is just laughable.
  5. Contreras was fairly new to the MLB at the time we acquired him; correct me if I'm wrong. El Duque didn't seem too risky. Bartolo, Freddy and Pedro are all ridiculous injury risks and we've been over Uribe time and time again. I don't see much point to your post. I'm just saying that's quite a sad story for the offseason to only be looking at aging injury risks.
  6. Wow, when you have to mention names like Pedro, Freddy, Bartolo and Uribe you know your team is in bad shape.
  7. Indeed they were a damn good team. I just feel it's a lucky thing how well the team clicked and worked together so well. I can't help but feel that way after all the nonsense I've seen from this organization.
  8. By lucky I mean those acquisitions turning out so well. NO ONE predicted them to be winning moves at the time. You are TOTALLY misunderstanding me. What I mean is that we have GREAT youngsters like those you mentioned and they are all very cheap at the moment, yet our overall payroll is ridiculously high for the "talent" we have. This team is currently quite an underachieving mess with a lot of holes for that type of money. See above. That's all I was referring to.
  9. Far as I'm concerned, we were lucky and the stars aligned in 2005. Last year barely counts because we won a s*** division. The fact remains that the focus on this team has been shaky and the payroll as well as the players have not been maintained properly. How can you deny that when our roster is less impressive than many others and our youngest players aren't raking in the cash yet? The fact we have this high of a payroll is mind-boggling, and we all know how the organization is with things.
  10. Every time I hear his name I just lose control of all by bodily functions.
  11. Who would you be referring to? It's not sinking in for... wait. NO... you don't mean HIM?!?!
  12. Uh, did I stutter there somewhere? lol.
  13. In all honesty, we've made a few moves this offseason, but nothing big. I honestly without thinking REALLY hard can't even remember a move being made until I hear the name, "Vasquez." STILL no solid starter signed and STILL no leadoff hitter. The idea of Jerry Owens potentially being on the ML roster this year just makes me want to vomit.
  14. Get used to it? How long have you been a fan? I have BEEN used to it for years. It just sucks. If we start this season out with this rotation and still no leadoff hitter I'm officially writing off KW. There's just no excuse. And don't throw that "rebuilding" crap around. This team has a ridiculously high payroll with few good things to show for it. Hell, our BEST players are making pittance right now. It's mind-boggling. Someone needs to point out a team that's maintained worse than ours now so I can feel a little better.
  15. I LOVE how there's always an excuse for not signing/trading for someone on this site. I look at this team and its performance/makeup in recent years and wonder what we have that makes this payroll worth 115 million when our BEST players are coming CHEAP right now??? Seriously, it's pathetic and it BOGGLES MY MIND. There are teams FAR better out there with a much smaller payroll. f***ing MAKE ROOM for someone GOOD like Garland. Jesus...
  16. Agreed. If nothing else was done, this offseason would clearly be a giant failure.
  17. I REALLY want Brian Roberts on this team... BADLY. But the Sox CANNOT trade Gavin, at least not for a non-pitcher.
  18. I can't believe that's you saying that.
  19. Totally agreed, and I'm happy DJ is staying with the Sox.
  20. What? Isn't he like our eight outfielder? lol.
  21. Calling Owens mediocre is an insult to actual mediocrity.
