QUOTE(crazyman26 @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 10:38 AM) I agree as long as they can find another team that needs a starting 3rd baseman in 2 or 3 years(whenever Fields replaces him), or he can be converted to a utility infielder if that team does not have an opening at 3rd base. The good news for him as a free agent he would make MUCH more money than he does right now, especialy as a starting 3rd baseman on another team. Utility infielder? Crede is a third baseman, thats all. the guy is slow, he doesnt have the range to be a 2B or SS, and the Sox are set at 1st. Crede is probably out of options to the minors, so it isnt even an issue. He is either going to get traded, sign another deal, or leave via free agency. There will be no sending him down, converting him, none of that nonsense.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 11:17 AM) Isn't sizemore considered a darn good CF? I thought he had really good range. Am i off here? I think DBAHO just mistyped. As far as I can tell, Sizemore is the man in CF. He is the fastest guy on the team, or damn near fastest. And if you take Crisp off the team, he probably becomes the fastest guy on the team. They are going to have a similar situation that the White Sox had last year, where they are going to bring in a CF who is probably going to play LF. Unless Cleveland lost complete faith in Sizemore as a CF when he dropped that ball in KC.....

QUOTE(samclemens @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 09:37 AM) yeah, hes probably getting pounded as we speak. sexual offenders are usually the bottom of the totem poll in prison (except for cops- unless they can stand up for themselves). seriously, im not suprised. this stuff has been all over the web since before i was ever on the web. its part of that f***er matt hale's rise (he was somewhat popular for a while). there's everything on the web. its 2006. if anything, i would be most suprised if anything shocking or offensive that you can think of would NOT be on the web. I went to SIU in 1996, and Mathew Hale was a law student there at the time. Boy did he ever cause trouble in his final year. His manifesto and "10 commandments" of his church were published in the school paper, and the local population went apes***. Then he was almost banned from getting his law degree, then it was on to the Jerry Springer Show, then he was banned from taking the bar exam, etc. al.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 10:53 AM) i wanted to read that LOL, me too. Im sure it was chock-full of goodies such as Desmond Howards return numbers in the NFL. -
QUOTE(BlackBetsy @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 10:46 AM) My initial conclusion is that the Indians of 2006 minus Millwood, minus Crisp but plus Marte, Mota, and Byrd are just as good as the 2005 Indians. I dont really agree with this, because the Indians are set to trade Rhodes for Michaels. So they are losing Millwood, Howry, Rhodes, Crisp, and gaining Marte, Michaels, Mota and Bird. They are trading good pitching for hitting, the way I see it.

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 10:39 AM) I don't know why this is so bad or so strange. He is at a clubd drinking and dancing. He is 23 years old. So freaking what? Isn't that what a bunch of 23 year olds do? I don't get it. Its not bad, or strange. Its funny to me. But I am not a QB in a bigtime city with an image to uphold, and I certainly havent been busted in multiple pictures which have shown up on multiple websites hammered off my ass with half of my drink in my stomach and the other half on my shirt. I didnt condemn the action. But if I were Orton, I would do my damndest to avoid being pictured repeatedly in that condition. At least put the bottle down if you are gonna drink, the rest of the world uses glasses, lol. -
QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 08:31 AM) Since I couldn't add it to the forum.... best thread??? = "I just made the Best Subway Sandwhich Ever" If you keep coming up with thread-adds like that, you better edit your sig to say "Personal Goal, to be 4th funniest on Soxtalk"

So Boston addressed a need of their pen by acquiring Mota, and a 3B need for the immediate and extended future, and they have traded both away for OF help. I think the Red Sox season is going to be alot like last year, all O, No pitching.

QUOTE(crazyman26 @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 09:31 AM) In any case if Fields is ready to come up to the big leagues before the end of the 08 season, do you think they try to send Crede to the minors hoping he clears waivers, or they let him go off and be a free agent since they still own his rights until then? Crede aint going to the minors, you can take that to the bank.

Hmm, I have 7 out of the 10 of those albums on my Ipod. Im kind of proud of myself. I think Creedence would be a 10-A for me.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 01:45 AM) but i thought Grossman was the savior. I thought he was supposed to be this great QB. If Grossman's stats aren't better than Orton's why make the switch. Grossman was not an upgrade over Orton and I watched every Bears game this year. They were the same. They both sucked. But if you have a QB who has started 14 games vs a QB who has started no games and he will at most have 6 quarters to play you pick the one who has started the 14 games. I know they rested Grossman against the Vikings however if you are that concerned that your QB is gonna get hurt he shouldn't be your QB. Hell even career wise there isn't that much of a difference. They both suck right now. Your pride makes you blind, man. Its really sad I love how you state that you watched every game this year, as if noone else did, and you decided that they were the same. Anyone who watched the games knew that they werent even close to the same. Not in skill, ball speed, effectiveness, driving the ball, deep balls, slant routes, etc. You name it, Grossman did it better on the field. Because the obvious assessment with your eyes isnt working for your argument anymore, now you are going to use stats to back you up by putting their numbers next to each other. Hilarious, typical White Sox Josh response. I know you watched the games when Orton was QB, but I am afraid you closed your eyes and covered your ears when Grossman came in, because the difference was night and day. But thats alright Josh. Hart is the Heisman, Avant is a second rounder, and Orton is the king QB. -

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) Kyle Orton's QB Rating - 59.7 The Great Rex Grossman's QB Rating (including the playoff game) - 56.8 But i thought Grossman was such a huge upgrade over Orton. Ha, this is funny WSJ. Still whining about the same thing. It was right to put you on the case. -
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 04:41 PM) Did this actually happen? Or is it still a rumor? Its true, Anna Benson is a crazy skank. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2300779

QUOTE(SEALgep @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) What's wrong with owning a gun? ^^^ What Jackie Hayes said. I dont think there is anything wrong with having guns, but this lady is bragging and promoting them like everyone needs one, and that isnt the case. Sure, she throws "Gun Education" in there, but then she talks about leaving guns around the house in strategic, unlocked, and easily accessible places(because (her father's) valid argument is that if the guns are locked up, it will be too difficult to access them when needed... like when some deranged 200 pound man is busting through my front door). Give me a break. She should shut the f*** up before she convinces other people to do the same thing, and someone gets hurt. That being said, this could probably turn into a decent discussion on The Filibuster.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 03:31 PM) And speaking of "dead"... the whale died. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060121/ap_on_sc/britain_whale Sad, but I thought it would happen. Whales dont just wander like that, they usually do things like that when they are disoriented.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) I could not stop laughing when they were at the soda machine and he goes "how's the PA....M situation going.. ". And when he was in his office messing up his hair... and explaining the Hooter's check. LMAO.. hysterical!!! I love the guy that plays Dwight. Loved him on Six Feet Under also. I saw him (Raine Wilson/Dwight) on a late night show the other night, It might have been Conan, and he is just as strange as Dwight is. You can tell it isnt a stretch to play Dwight for him. He is really funny though, I like that sort of humor.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 02:08 PM) IMO, Anna Benson is not really much to look at. Particularly when we have Mrs. Pods to look at. Anna is hot until she opens her mouth. Then, not so much. She likes to show off the cleavage though, thats for sure. Her website is frickin hilarious, she is absolutely in love with herself and her image. www.annabenson.net edit: I just went to her site. Now she is a gun advocate with a crazy letter to "Gun haters". Seriously, some people should just stick to what they do. She happens to be the wife of a baseball player, now because she has money and time on her hands(not to mention all the attention she wants) she thinks she can spout off whatever she wants. "I have many guns (strategically placed) in my home to be used in the event of a home invasion—a crime which frequently occurs in my city." Yeah, im sure their plush New York highrise has many instances of home invasion.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 12:02 PM) Oscar is guy who often recieves predjudice remarks from Michael about his Latin background. The thing that I dislike about his character is that the writers don't utilize how insanely funny that actor (Oscar Nunez) can be. If you've ever seen the two 'Reno 911!' episodes where they do terrorist training, then you know what I'm talking about. Go here Reno 911! and watch the movie called 'Chemical Shower' to get a slight idea. My favorite charater is Ryan. It is one character where they definitely took a departure from the original Office and put an entirely different spin on how he interacts with Michael. B.J. Novak is a real funny guy too and has written a handful of the episodes, all of them being the funnier ones. Oh yeah, Ryan is developing into a really funny character. He knows he doesnt have enough seniority to talk back to michael, but he never wants to listen to Michael because he is an idiot. I was laughing so hard when Michael burned his foot on his Foreman grill and was trying to get Ryan to rub his feet, among other things.
