  1. Phillips is a bean counter, and very good at that. The Bears need his equal for the football side, and I think the McCaskeys know that now.
  2. QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 05:12 PM) Why wouldnt that source have just reported it themselves instead of letting that douche break it? Have you seen his billboards? My God I hate him so much and I have never listened. Hard to miss the billboards. The source could be someone within the org, who knows. I mean, we could say he has nobody but s***, some teenager in Canada broke the Trestman hire because he was friends with Trestmans daughters. Who knows who is K0nas source? I'm sure Eric knows a lot more people plugged in than we would expect
  3. Eric actually does appearances on Sports Talk Live and hobnobs with a lot of sports figures in Chicago. I'm not saying that he is correct, but he certainly could have a valid source that fed him this info
  4. Jason told me to move all of these NFL catch all posts from this NCAA catch all to the other catch all because he likes catch alls so much. So, look in the other catch all
  5. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 01:16 PM) I know the Bears are bad, but are they so bad that they've been demoted to college football? Jimmy Clausen is the QB this week. So, yes.
  6. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 11:33 AM) Shea has been a disaster. I think Bostic less so. He isn't going to work, but he did show a lot of potential early. Chalk that up to "just didn't develop as we thought." I'd have to look and see what other LB's were picked around him and how they're doing. At least he was drafting the right need. 2 picks later Jamie Collins (Patriots), 6 picks later Arthur Brown (Ravens), 16 picks later Sio Moore(Oakland) And lets not ever forget who the Patriots drafted after the Bears took Shae, Chandler Jones
  7. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 11:26 AM) Let's bring this back to the NFL thread: This is sort of my issue - nearly every move was met with "yeah, I like it!" Some people criticized his out of the box hire with Trestman, but none of the REAL criticism showed up until about week 5 of this year. Last year he was a genius. No one criticized the move to get rid of Peppers and sign Allen. We all knew Allen wasn't going to lead the league in sacks, but his no-show is an abnormality. His pick of a CB over a safety is just preference, it's not some terrible decision. Emery deserves to be fired because he's ultimately responsible for this team, a team that under performed, a team led by a guy that shouldn't be a coach in this league. I think the majority of his decisions were sound and made sense, they just didn't work out as planned. edit: he should also be fired for not stepping in to control the situation as it spiraled out of control too. That's a huge failing on his part. I think while he did attempt to address significant issues on the DL and OL, the complete lack of addressing the linebackers and safeties has really come back to haunt this team. hand picking Tucker and Decamillis really has been a nightmare as well. I mean, really you can look at any failed GM and say "I can see his intentions, they just didnt work out". But the NFL is a bottom line business, and this season has turned into an embarrassing s*** show that manages to get worse every time someone comes to the podium.
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 11:19 AM) I know he failed with the Browns but he was successful in Seattle and obviously in Green Bay. I guess the question with Holmgren is, does that mean we go cheaper on a coach, cause my #1 priority is Jim Harbaugh. I presume they could work together as long as their egos could fit into a room and Holmgren would probably hire a young personnel guy who could be groomed and do a lot of the heavy lifting and probably would be groomed into the role of GM. That would obviously be extremely expensive for the Bears though. Hard to pin that on him with the ownership situation that came in and destroyed it all
  9. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 10:41 AM) True. But in terms of management of the personnel and making moves, I think Emery has done a good job. He's just missed (horribly) on which guys to get. So you think he evaluates personnel and management well, but in the end he still makes the wrong decision? Yet, he has done a good job?
  10. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 08:56 AM) We need John Danks more than we need Chris Johnson. Ew no. no no no no no
  11. So Jermon Bushrod was doing some sort of promotional appearance with the Score yesterday, and during the course of the interview he admitted that they(most of the team) found out about the QB change just like everyone else did, through social media, NOT FROM THE HEAD COACH.
  12. Peavy stays with the giants, 2/24M with a full NTC. Alrighty then
  13. I thought they weren't really worried about signing him for the max because they expect the salary cap to go up
  14. Tweet from Adrian Wojnarowski (WojYahooNBA) Adrian Wojnarowski (WojYahooNBA): Boston will send Rajon Rondo and Dwight Powell to Dallas for Brandan Wright, Jae Crowder, Jamar Nelson, 2015 first-round and future second.
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 18, 2014 -> 02:40 PM) Yeah, I know we didn't beat good teams, but I can't believe this team is better than anyone. They always look like the worst team on the field even when they win. Except Tampa I guess. Even Tampa shut them out for the first half
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 18, 2014 -> 01:17 PM) It's not the Mumps is it? does he look like he has a watermelon sized chunk of chew in his mouth? If so, the Pittsburgh Penguins say he is ok
  17. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 18, 2014 -> 11:53 AM) It's cause we're trading Abreu to them. We are rebuilding, so lets get rid of all of them since we need to fill the seats that will be even more empty after Sale and Abreu are traded. wait, what?
  18. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 18, 2014 -> 01:11 PM) So, the Bears backup QB (Cutler) will be speaking to the press today, not the starter (Clausen)? So Bears. come on homeboy, i covered this two pages ago. GET WITH IT
  19. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 18, 2014 -> 12:36 PM) Remember that hit that Cutler took to the sternum earlier this year. What is going to happen is we will hear he has been playing with broken ribs/bruised sternum all year and that is what has been the problem and that is why he is no longer starting. I don't know, this whole damn thing is surreal. This is the best adjective for this season
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 18, 2014 -> 12:15 PM) He'll be here and so will Mike Shanahan. SHUT YOUR DIRTY WHORE MOUTH
  21. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 18, 2014 -> 12:05 PM) Kyle, please tell me you were a kidding. In what world does that sound like a sane decision. This is just absurd. Do they just want to encourage a Jay Cutler tirade or something. That is just awful and for everyone saying Cutler stole / robbed the Bears, please. He didn't write the contract. no green font
  22. The Bears are putting Cutler on the mic for media day today. So that will be fun
  23. well i went ahead and gave him a shoutout and tagged soxnet. All of you twitter fans should do the same
