I can't wait until the BoSox manager smacks down all of this arrogant talk and stacks the staff with AL East hurlers. Really, guys. Focus on the real games ahead, not on an exhibition weeks away. We're not safely in first by a long shot.

That is a name I have not heard in a long time. I don't know if he ever posted here, but at the old mlb.com White Sox forums, there was a poster named Ncorgbl who claimed to be a partial owner of the team. He always defended Thomas and Valentin, no matter what they did, and seemed to have a grudge against a lot of guys, especially Bartolo Colon and Tony Graffanino.

A relatively slim lead. It won't disapear over the course of a single series, but a prolonged slump will get rid of it. One must always think of the WC if one has not yet clinched.

Uh, guys, if we lose 4.5 games on the Twins, we'll probably lose a similar number of games on the Rangers, Red Sox, and others. So we'd be closer to 3-2 up for the WC. Don't get too cocky. Thing is, if the Cubs end up in the postseason and Prior and Wood are healthy in body and mind, the Cubs are a lock for the World Series title. That's not what I call pleasing, and it'd be just enough to ruin a first-place finish by the Sox. So, yes, there is a reason to worry about them.

The Devil Rays were not tied for the WC after their 9 game winning streak. Given how weak the NL seems right now, and with all those teams beating up on each other in the East, the Cubs are the wildcard favorite. Amazing that this can still happen after their start.

Sounds like a guy who just went on a rip despite playing most of his career at a higher level. The fact that somebody posted that he doesn't have a heater also disheartens me. Sounds like a sure-fire failure to me. The minors will still be useless for us.

If I were Ozzie, I'd stick Timo at SS briefly during a blowout game or send him in to pitch. Move him around as a sort of running gag.
