Obama's Pastor
QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Mar 20, 2008 -> 08:41 PM) Do you think they are not a rqacist organization? Yes but what does that have to do with you lying about Obama proudly displaying the Black Panther logo on his site.

Obama's Pastor
QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Mar 20, 2008 -> 03:30 PM) He proudly had the Black Panthers logo on his site until recently. That doesn't help. Also, McCain's website proudly displayed the swastika for several days before taking it down.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 20, 2008 -> 03:24 PM) Yeah, no s***. That's what I was thinking. And he's got UNC winning it all. Although, he does have Oregon and Western Kentucky losing. I think he was recently quoted to pick the Puerto Rican National Team to win in Beijing.

Obama's Pastor
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Mar 18, 2008 -> 07:04 AM) It's a glimpse into who Obama puts stock in and some of what he believes. You don't associate with people like this for 20 years and not believe some of it. Do you hang around people like this for (again) 20 years if you don't believe anything they say? I have lifelong friends that I've known since kindergarten that think nothing like me. I'm 34 now. And what's with the part I bolded? Do you honestly think that for 20 years this pastor spewed nothing but hatred? There's nothing Obama could have agreed with?

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 04:50 PM) The web page you linked to says their goal was $500k for that day. That's hardly epic. That's 1/3 of the daily amount they took in during Feb. Big difference in being able to take online donations by all of America and having a lunch and a couple cocktail receptions with a small group.

Delta voters re-elect felon Bazan by wide margin
QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 04:29 PM) How embarrassing to lose to a convicted felon? How is there not a law that prevents a felon from running for office? I find that to be odd. EDIT: So let me get this straight. If you're a felon you cannot vote but you can run for office?!?

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 04:23 PM) New debate schedule! The Clinton Campaign agreed to a debate in Philly on April 16th and the Obama campaign responded by agreeing to that debate and another in North Carolina on the 19th. Yay. More debates. No one knows where these 2 stand on the issues.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 04:11 PM) McCain challenges Dems to release their earmark details. Obama does so shortly after. Clinton referred questions to her Senate office, who hasn't responded. All three say they support the ban on earmarks. Clinton's earmark total in 2007 was 10th among the 100 Senators at $342M. I'm sure she'll release her earmarks shortly after she releases her tax returns and White House documents.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 02:53 PM) I am STILL shocked that states are "surprised" by high turn out. Iowa should ahve been the early clue that this election is like none before. It's been over 2 months since Iowa and Texas wasnt prepared. ^^^^^^^^

Anyone catch Olbermann? He went off. I except him to be in a body bag in a year or so. He ended his monologue with "Good night and good luck" which I thought was pretty cool.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 07:08 PM) Why are you so afraid of the popular vote? I'm not. Obama is leading in popular vote. But that's now what ultimately decides who gets the nomination. Delegates do. States should be highlighted on the map to reflect who is actually winning the states by the method that decides the winner...i.e. delegates. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 07:08 PM) And what do you think about a system that allows a candidate to lose the popular vote and win more delegates? Fair? I think it's stupid but that's the system that is in place. I do like the proportional allocation but I don't get how someone with less votes can get more delegates. The rules need to be tweaked. Perhaps the popular vote winner of a state should do no worse than plus one delegate no matter what.

For GOP only
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 04:47 PM) Why? I like that is occurs earlier in spring and later in fall. Lot of darkness here in Chicago. Not all of us are as fortunate to live in sunny California.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 04:41 PM) At the end of the day, there is a state popular vote total, it is the only equal comparison between states. That map shows who received the most votes in that state. How that state manipulated the results so someone different received more delegates is a separate issue. So if you wish to have an asterisk that says Obama lost the popular vote, but won more delegates, I guess you can. How hard would it be to color a state for a candidate who won the most delegates? It would be like going to the standings page on ESPN.com and no longer seeing wins and losses but who leads in team batting average. Why rank by a measurement that does not affect the final outcome of who will win the division?
