Around the Horn
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 17, 2006 -> 04:37 PM) Just curious, when was the last time a defending WS champ didn't make the post season the following year? Marlins of '03?

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 17, 2006 -> 04:17 PM) How so? Starting pitching for s***, shoddy defense, no speed and a team that tries to outslug you.

Hello.
- Idea: Vazquez and Pods for Gordon and Abreu
*silently looks down at food while picking at it, pretending this argument isn't really happening*- The Trade Winds are a blowin'
Seeing all these great trade ideas I thought I'd come up with a reasonable trade myself. Widger for Dontrelle and Cabrera.- Pure Speculation: Garcia, Vazquez and Fields for Carlos Zambrano
Heh. Nice sig Kalapse.- Pure Speculation: Garcia, Vazquez and Fields for Carlos Zambrano
The scary thing about Zambrano is that you never know when his arm will fall off. I think Dusty leaves him out there for an average of 164 pitches per game.- So who do you fear the most? 3 headed monster....
BUMP Some of these predictions are funny to read 3 months later.- Farmer and Singleton
QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jul 17, 2006 -> 09:34 AM) "give Singleton time" WHY? So he can improve to be a below average broadcaster instead of a horrible one? The guy obviously has no clue regarding what the composition of a broadcast should be, he just says stuff when he's called on to do so. On his very best day, the dude is barely, BARELY passable. On his average day, he is an embarrassment to the organization, the fans and this city. That's a little over the top IMO. He has shown signs of improvement and I think he has a pleasant voice, an important factor when listening to a radio crew.- 2006 White Sox Catch-All Thread
A few weeks back someone compared this team with last year's Red Sox. Looks like they were dead on.- music
QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 11:29 AM) Why am I all about Peaches lately? You see her on the Henry Rollins show last week?- Would you trade Freddy?
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 17, 2006 -> 08:20 AM) "i know he played very good during the playoffs and contributed to the sox winning it all but ive never liked the guy (as a player)" Classic. Heh. Who was that?- 2006 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 11:51 PM) UP TO THE SECOND SP TRUST LEVELS: 1.) Jose Contreras - I have much faith in the Titan, I truely expect him to kickass every time out. - - 2.) Jon Garland - The tallest of the midgets at this point in time, he's been pitching considerably better than the other 3. - 3.) Mark Buehrle - 22 ER (24 R) over his last 14.1 IP, that's 3 straight horrid starts. I hate him right now. 4.) Javier Vazquez - I have much faith in Javy, faith that 4 out of his 6 IP in each start will be stellar but he'll end up allowing 3 runs per in the other 2 because an opposing hitter looked at him the wrong way. - - - 5.) Freddy Maddux - No real reason for him to be pitching for this team in August. Ahh...remember the days when we used to see polls about how many 20 game winners we would have? *sigh*- Big Frank
Boxscore shows that Frank was pinch hit for in the 4th inning in a scoreless game (at the time). Did Frank hurt himself again?- The Sh*t Pitching Stops Here: Sox @ Yanks
Tigers with tying run at the plate.- The Sh*t Pitching Stops Here: Sox @ Yanks
Disgusting. Wild card lead is now 3.- The Sh*t Pitching Stops Here: Sox @ Yanks

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 03:05 PM) Pretty sure you don't bunt with your 4 hitter in the top of the 9th against the best closer in baseball? 4, maybe 5. That was dripping with sarcasm.- The Sh*t Pitching Stops Here: Sox @ Yanks
QUOTE(G&T @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 03:04 PM) NO DOUPLE PLAYS, PAULIE. And here comes Ozuna for no real reason. A double would tie the game.- The Sh*t Pitching Stops Here: Sox @ Yanks
Lets see how Paulie bunts.- The Sh*t Pitching Stops Here: Sox @ Yanks
Yay for solo shots.- The Sh*t Pitching Stops Here: Sox @ Yanks
Well at least we are keeping the bullpen arms fresh for tomorrow's team laser tag outing.- The Sh*t Pitching Stops Here: Sox @ Yanks
Detroit's pitching has looked quite mediocre vs the Royals.- The Sh*t Pitching Stops Here: Sox @ Yanks
If you would have told me that our 1 and 2 hitters reached base 7 times through 7 innings I would think we'd have 6 or 7 runs by now.- The Sh*t Pitching Stops Here: Sox @ Yanks
